[Objective]To probe the standard of early diagnosis of femoro-acetabular impingement(FAI),and the imageological appearance of 16 row spiral CT noncontrast enhanced scan and three-dimensional reconstruction,and MRI of progression of FAI patients.And to approach the significance of using the imageology result to identity doubtful FAI patients with other patients.[Methods]Six FAI patients were enrolled.CT and MRI noncontrast enhanced scan and CT three-dimensional reconstruction were performed to assess the hip joint.The CT scan was performed on the GE Lightspeed 16 row spiral at 1.25 mm slice reconstruction.The MRI scan was performed on the Siemens Avanto 1.5T supraconduction magnetic resonance meter.The CT and MRI scan included the acetabulum to the lesser trochanters.[Results]The results of DR of pelvis orthophoria discovered subtotal congenital anatomic abnormality of hip.The result of 16 row spiral CT noncontrast enhanced scan and three-dimensional reconstruction discovered total congenital anatomic abnormality of hip.The result of MRI noncontrast enhanced scan discovered phlegmasia of hip joint of midanaphase patients of FAI.[Conclusion]Non-buninoid femoral head,hyper-deep of hip,acetabular anteversion and hypsokinesis,and typical sings and symptoms lead to early and exactitude diagnosis.The results of 16 row spiral CT three-dimensional reconstruction and MRI can provid straight reference operation schedule;The result of MRI noncontrast enhanced scan can detect FAI with early avascular necrosis of the femoral head.

BACKGROUND:Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(BMSCs) have the potential to differentiate into various cells and growth factor plays a key role in cell engraftment, survival, and differentiation.OBJECTIVE:To observe the effects of hepatocyte growth factor(HGF) and insulin-like growth factor(IGF) combined with stem cell transplantation on cardiac function in rabbits after myocardial infarction.DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING:The randomized controlled animal study was performed at the Animal Experimental Center, China Medical University from November 2006 to March 2008.MATERIALS:A total of 28 healthy adult rabbits, of both genders, weighing 2.0-2.5 kg were used in this study.METHODS:Rabbit BMSCs were cultured in vitro.The left anterodecendant arteries(LAD) of adult rabbits were ligated to establish animal models of myocardial infarction by a 60-min occlusion of the LAD, followed by reperfusion.A total of 28 adult rabbits were equally and randomly assigned into 4 groups.In the combination group, rabbit models were injected with 8 ?L DMEM, supplemented with 5?1011/L BMSCs 40 ?L, 150 ?g/L HGF and 200 ?g/L IGF-1 at 3 days following model induction.In the stem cell group, rabbit models were infused with 5?1011/L BMSCs 40 ?L.In the growth factor group, rabbit models were injected with 8 ?L DMEM containing 150 ?g/L HGF and 200 ?g/L IGF-1.In the control group, rabbit models were treated with the same volume of DMEM.Three dimensional(3D) full volume image of the left ventricle was measured by IE33 model ultraphonic apparatus with 3D detecting head.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:The following parameters were measured:results of BMSC fluorescent labeling, end diastolic dimension, end systolic volume and ejection fraction of the left ventricle in each group at 6 weeks following model induction.RESULTS:A total of 28 adult rabbits were included in the final analysis.BMSCs adhered, with various morphology.Following 1 week, adhered cells gradually formed cell colony, with the presence of spindle-shape.At 2 weeks, about 80%-90% cells were confluent.Under a fluorescence microscope, DAPI-positive cells were found in the combination and stem cell groups.Positive cells were scattered in the rabbit myocardium, and surrounding the scar, along cardiac muscle fiber direction.Compared with the control and growth factor groups, cardiac function was significantly improved in the combination and stem cell groups(P

Objective To develop a new rabbit model of myocardial infarction and assess left ventricular function and the survival rates.Methods A total of 30 adult rabbits were equally and randomly assigned into improved（n =15）and traditional model groups（n =15）.The rabbits were not intubated and ventilated in improved model group.A thoracotomy was performed along the left sternum by small nick with rib and pleura cavity integrity.The left anterodecendant arteries（LAD）of adult rabbits were ligated to establish animal models of my-ocardial infarction by a 60-min occlusion of the LAD,followed by reperfusion.In another group,rabbits were intubated and ventilated with rib abscised during thoracotomy inversely.Echocardiographic assessment was performed 3 weeks after myocardial infarction and survival rates were analyzed.Results Echocardiography showed that there was a sizable reduction in systolic and diastolic function in both groups with cardiac function significantly decreased 3 weeks later.Compared with traditional model group,improved method significantly increased the survival rate of rabbit model with myocardial ischemia.Conclusion This improved method is applicable to make an animal model of my-ocardial ischemia in rabbit.We established a simple,rapid,and effective method to mimick myocardial infarction in rabbit.

Resident doctor standardization training is the base of dermatologist training. We set up the specialist standardization training system according to our hospital's training practice. The dermatolo-gist standardization training mode was set up through tutor responsibility rule , internet learning platform and problem-based learning methods. The teaching level for dermatologists was upgraded by using above methods.

Objective To analysis the health related quality of life (HRQOL)in emigrants with rheumatoid arthritis(RA) in Three‐Gorge Reservoir area ,and to study the influencing factors on HRQOL .Methods Self‐rating depression scale(SDS) was used to assess degree of depression in emigrants with rheumatoid arthritis in Three‐Gorge Reservoir area ,and SF‐36 scalec was used to assess the HRQOL of these patients .The one‐way ANOVA and stepwise regression analysis were used to study the influence fac‐tors of HRQOL .Results SDS scores showed that there were 110 peoples with depressive symptoms (67 .5% ) ,including mild de‐pression 58 cases(35 .6% ) ,moderate depression 39 cases(23 .9% ) ,severe depression 13 cases(8 .0% ) .Stepwise regression analysis showed that :SDS score ,DAS‐28 classification ,age ,sex ,treatment ,education ,occupation ,physical exercis ,economic income ,health insurance and alcohol consumption influenced the HRQOL scores of patients with IBS .DAS‐28 classification ,economic income , health insurance ,sex ,treatment were the main influencing factors ,with the unstandardized partial coefficients of -39 .211 ,31 .512 , 25 .866 ,-42 .348 ,-51 .235 .Conclusion Most of emigrants with RA in Three‐Gorge Reservoir area suffering from depressive symptoms ,and the HRQOL scores of them is not optimistic .The results suggested that more attention must be paid to the elderly , low‐income ,women ,low education ,DAS‐28 classification and no occupation .Quiting drinking ,receiving treatment ,psychological treatment ,strengthen exercise and expanding the scope of medical insurance all can improve patients′health related quality of life .

Objective To investigate the expressions of brain-derived nerve growth factor (BDNF) and growth-associated protein 43 (GAP-43) in the hypothalamus of rats inflicted with restraint stress and their relationship with behavioral changes.Methods Forty male SD rats were divided into control group,restraint stress 7-day group,restraint stress 14-day group,restraint stress 21-day group according to the random number table,with 10 rats per group.Behavior changes were observed by open-field test,serum levels of corticotrophin releasing hormone (CRH) by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay,and expressions of BDNF and GAP-43 in the hypothalamus by western blotting.Results Restraint stress 7-day group exhibited increases in spanning lattice times (50.0 ± 7.0),standing times (11.4 ± 2.1)and modification times (11.2 ± 2.7) compared with all other groups (P ＜ 0.05).Restraint stress 14-day group and restraint stress 21-day group showed significant decreases in spanning lattice times (35.5 ±7.5,29.4 ± 6.8),standing times (7.8 ± 4.9,5.6 ± 3.9) and modification times (6.7 ± 2.9,4.4 ±2.6) compared with control group (42.6 ± 5.4,8.9 ± 4.3,and 7.9 ± 3.0) (P ＜ 0.05).Restraint 14-day and 21-day groups showed significant increases in serum CRH level [(750.73 ± 123.68) pg/ml and (793.06 ± 115.84)pg/ml] compared with that in restraint stress 7-day group [(500.48 ± 88.71)pg/ml,P ＜0.05],but all were lower than (336.72 ±45.34) pg/ml in control group (P ＜0.05).Levels of BDNF and GAP-43 in the hypothalamus were the lowest in control group (0.672 ± 0.185 and 0.694 ±0.253).However,restraint stress increased the expressions of BDNF and GAP-43 in the hypothalamus,with the highest level in restraint stress 21-day group (1.357 ± 0.524 and 1.486 ± 0.679) (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion Restraim stress can up-regulate BDNF and GAP-43 proteins in the hypothalamus,and lead to plasticity changes that may relate to stress-related behavior.

BACKGROUND:Bacterial adhesion is closely related to the surface properties of cobalt-chromium al oys, and therefore, the surface modification technology has become the focus of research in this area. OBJECTIVE:To verify whether the cobalt-chromium al oy with zirconium nitride coating can improve the bacterial adhesion of metal denture materials. METHODS:Magnetron sputtering deposition method was used to plate zirconium nitride film on the surface of cobalt-chromium al oys (experimental group), and cobalt-chromium al oy specimens uncoated served as control group. Streptococcus mutans, Candida albicans, and Actinomyces viscosus were respectively inoculated on the two kinds of test specimen, and at end of culture, the colony counting was done. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:In the bacterial adhesion test, the number of colonies of three kinds of bacteria in the experimental group was significantly lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). The number of bacterial adhesion in the control group was significantly higher than that in the experimental group. These findings indicate that the cobalt-chromium al oy covered with zirconium nitride coating can significantly reduce the adhesion amount of Streptococcus mutans, Candida albicans and Actinomyces viscosus, and thus improve bacterial adhesion properties of cobalt-chromium al oys.

Objective To investigate the methods and effects of abdominal and pelvic shielding for pediatric chest CT examinations.Methods The 705-D phantom made by Computerized Imaging Reference Systems (CIRS) was used to replace a 5-year-old child,thermoluminescent dosimeters were set in the abdomen and pelvis to measure the organ and tissue doses.Chest scans were conducted with the routine protocol for pediatric chest CT examinations.Doses to main organs and tissues in the abdomen and pelvis were measured after chest CT scans without lead apron,with lead apron covering anterior of the abdomen and pelvis and with apron wrapping same part,respectively.Results Absorbed doses to some abdominal organs near the irradiation field were up to several mGy in a procedure of pediatric chest CT examination.There were statistically significant differences among the dose values for three different scans at the same location (x2 =16.00,P ＜ 0.05).Statistically significant difference was also found between the dose values for scans,which were measured with wrapping and covering approaches (Z =-2.52,P ＜ 0.05).Compared to the doses in the condition of no shielding,the doses in testis and colon reduced by 71.2％ and 42.3％,respectively,if the abdomen and pelvis was wrapped with a lead apron (0.35 mm Pb),and reduced by 55.9％ and 26.1％,respectively,if the same lead apron was used to cover the anterior of the abdomen and pelvis.Conclusions In pediatric chest CT examinations,the use of a lead apron can effectively shield the abdomen and pelvis,and plays an important role in protection of the gonad and colon.The wrapping measure is worth being recommended.

Objective To understand well this disease,8 children with familial periodic paralysis(FPP) were reported and the(rela)-ted literatures were reviewed.Methods The hereditary characters,clinical manifestations,auxiliary examination and managements were summarized retrospectively in 8 cases of FPP patients hospitalized from January 1996 to December 2005,and etiopathogenis and diagnosis were also analyzed.Results Six cases of FPP were diagnosed as hypokalemic periodic paralysis,and all occured as an autosomal dominant condition.During paralytic episodes,the patients showed obviously low serum potassium levels [1.9-2.8 mmol/L,(2.4?0.38) mmol/L)] and hypokalemic electrocardiogram findings,such as U-wave.The level of blood glucose was lower than normal range.Other 2 cases with normal serum potassium ion level at attack were diagnosed as normokalemic periodic paralysis with autosomal dominant pattern.One of the two cases,the level of blood glucose was lower.Thyroid functions,renal functions and electromyograms were all normal in 8 cases.Conclusions FPP is a group of relatively uncommon inherited disorders known as the skeletal muscle channelophathies.It can be diagnosed by hereditary characters,clinical manifestataions,auxiliary examinations.
