Objective This paper was to observe the immediate protective effects of Radix Codonopsis,Radix Rheum,Radix Salvia and Shu Gan Tiao Wei Tang on gastric mucosas and to discuss the universality of the immediate protection of Traditional Chinese Medicine.Method The drugs were given oral to rats, then the absolute ethanol 2ml were administered immediately to observe the effects of decoction of Radix Codonopsis,Radix Rheum,Radix Salvia and Shu Gan Tiao Wei Tang on gastric mucosal damage;respectively. Results ⑴The 10g/kg of Radix Codonopsis decoction pre-injected oral inhibited markedly gastric mucosal damage with 79 9% of the inhibitory rate.⑵The 12g/kg of Radix Rheum decoction was pre-injected oral, the inhibitory rate was 48 1%.⑶When the 12g/kg of Radix Salvia decoction was pre-injected oral, the inhibitory rate was 61 53%.⑷When the 6g/kg of Shu Gan Tiao Wei Tang pre-injected was oral, the inhibitory rate was 56 84%;When the 12g/kg of Shu Gan Tiao Wei Tang was pre-injected oral, the inhibitory rate was 79 79%.Conclusions All of the Radix Codonopsis,Radix Rheum,Radix Salvia and Shu Gan Tiao Wei Tang possessed the immediate protective effect on gastric mucosas.Among the onefold drugs, the effect of Radix Codonopsis is the strongest, the Radix Salvia is secondly and the Radix Rheum is last.

AIM:To study the effect of intraventricular injection(icv) of histamine(HA) on corticotropin releasing hormone (CRH) neurons activity in paraventricular nucleus (PVN) of hypothalamus. METHOD: Fos ontogenic protein immunohistochemistry and double antigen immunohistochemistry method; semiquantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) method were used. RESULTS: After intraventricular injection of HA, (1) number of Fos immunnoreactive positive neurons in PVN increased significantly; (2) double labeling experiments showed that there were 31 78%?1 59% of Fos immunoreactive cells in PVN expressed CRH simultaneously; (3) the CRHmRNA level in PVN was increased in a dose-dependent manner. CONCLUSION: Central histamine activated CRH neurons in PVN of hypothalamus and increase the expression of CRH gene.

Objective:
To evaluate the feeding effect of not monitoring gastric residual volume in ICU patients receiving continuous enteral feeding, including complications and calorie intake.
Methods:
We searched for relevant studies in China national knowledge internet(CNKI), Wanfang Data, PubMed, Embase, Cochrane library. We included all Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and pre-post studies related to the feeding effect of not monitoring gastric residual volume in ICU patients receiving continuous enteral feeding. Two researchers independently screened, appraised and extracted data, and meta-analysis was conducted via RevMan 5.3 software.
Results:
3 RCTs and 2 pre-post studies with 1 000 patients were included. Not monitoring gastric residual volume increase the rate of vomiting [

OBJECTIVETo investigate the effect of cyclic stretch on p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (p38MAPK) signaling pathway during stretch-induced differentiation process of C2C12 myoblasts.
METHODSC2C12 cells were seeded on Bio Flex 6-well plates, and cells were subsequently subjected to cyclic stretch at an optimal magnitude (10%) and frequency (0.5 Hz). The effects of cyclic stretch were examined at 2, 6, 12, 24 h. Antibodies specific to p38MAPK phosphorylated forms and the total protein levels of the p38MAPK were examined using Western blot analysis.
RESULTSThese results indicated that p38MAPK was activated during stretch-induced C2C12 cell differentiation. The level of phosphorylated protein was higher in the p38MAPK signaling pathway. The expression of total protein was maintained at baseline level. There were no significant differences between groups. Treatment of cells with specific p38MAPK inhibitor SB203580 could decrease the expression of myogenin, but not completely abolish the myogenin expression after stretch.
CONCLUSIONp38MAPK signaling pathway plays an important role during stretch-induced differentiation process of C2C12 myoblasts, but is not activated exclusively in this process.
