Objective To reveal the relation between Nesiritide and vascular remodeling,the relation between Nesiritide and the levels of aldosterone.Methods 20 male New Zealand rabbits were randomly divided into two groups.All rabbit models were constructed with BC.After injury,the control group were fed with standard forage,the Nesiritide group received standard forage plus subcutaneous Nesiritide[0.1 mg/dissected free from arteria iliaca externa,processed for histological and morphological study by TD 2000 analysis system of pathology image.Data of vascular remodeling and the levels of plasma aldosterone were determined.Results There had significant difference between AUIEM and AUEEM(P ＜ 0.05),markedly significant difference was also found in residual cavity areas and ratios of stenosis(P ＜0.01).There had no significant difference between areas of media(P ＞ 0.05).Aldosterone reduced from the 28th day.Conclusions Nesiritide could benefit vascular remodeling after angioplasty,which might be through reducing aldosterone.

ObjectiveTo reveal the relation between rhBNP and vascular remodeling,the relation between rhBNP and levels of serum high sensitive C reactive protein (hs-CRP).Methods20 male New Zealand rabbits were randomly divided into two groups.All the rabbits were constructed to be models of angioplasty with BC.After injury,the control group were feed with standard forage,the rhBNP group received standard forage plus sibeutaneous rhBNP [0.1mmg/(kg · day),20 days].The rabbits were killed 4weeks after initial injury.The injured segments were dissected free from arteria iliaca externa,processed for histological and morphological study by TD 2000 analysis system of pathology image.The data of vascular remodeling was determined.The levels of hs-CRP were measured at the beginning and the end of the experiment.ResultsThere was significant difference in AUIEM and AUEEM[ (643.2±134.06) μm2 vs (493.7±139.32) μm2 ; (1495.1±204.98)μm2 vs (1265.9±232.56)μm2,P ＜ 0.05 ],extremely significant difference in residual cavity areas and ratios of stenosis[ (519.1±93.47) μm2 vs (308.6±86.50) μm2;(18.68±7.72) μm2 vs (38.04±8.32) μm2,P ＜ 0.01 ].There was no significant difference between the areas of media (P＞ 0.05).rhBNP reduced the levels of hs-CRP on the 28th day.ConclusionsrhBNP can benefit vascular remodeling after angioplasty which might be through its anti -inflammatory action.

Sankezhen (Berberidis Radix) is a traditional Chinese materia medica,cold in nature and bitter in taste,for treating syndromes of liver,stomach,and large intestinal meridians,in which berberine and berbamine are the major pharmacological components.Sankezhen has been readmitted in Chinese Pharmacopoeia 2010 following the 1977 version as the roots of Berberis spp.e.g.B.soulieana,B.wilsonae,B.poiretii,B.vernae,etc.Recent studies showed that Berberis spp.were potential phytomedicines with multiple spectrums therapeutic effects and various pharmaceutical parts.Here we reviewed Sankezhen in traditional use and phytochemistry,and its major active components berberine and berbamine with potential bioactivities recently discovered,such as antitumor,antidiabetic,antihyperlipidemic,anti-arrhythmic,and neuro-protective activities.It is necessary to mature the quality assessment of Sankezhen as a new admission of Chinese Pharmacopoeia 2010.Other parts of Berberis spp.should be investigated to better develop this herb in medicinal usage.

OBJECTIVE　To study the effects of Panax quinquef olium 20S-protopanaxdiol saponins extracted from the leaves of panax qu inque-folium (PQDS) on the hemodynamics and cardial oxygen metabolism in dogs with acute myocardial infarction (AMI).METHODS　The paramete rs of hemodynamics and cardial oxygen metabolism were determined by using the mo del of ligation of LAD in the anaesthetized open-chest dogs.RESULTS 　In dogs treated with PQDS (in a dosage of 10 and 20 mg*kg-1 iv infusion),the myocardial blood flow (MBF) was increased and coronary vascular re sistance (CVR) was decreased significantly.The heart rate (HR) was slowed.The ar terial blood pressure (ABP),left ventricular pressure (LVP),the maximum rise rat e of left ventricular pressure(+dp/dtmax),left ventricular work index (LVW I) and total periphery resistance(TPR) were reduced,whereas the stroke index(SI) and cardiac index (CI) were increased.In addition,the decreasing range of the m aximum decline rate of left ventricular pressure(-dp/dtmax) and the rising range of left ventricular end diastolic pressure (LVEDP) were reduced.Meanwhile the cardiac oxygen consumption,myocardial oxygen utilization rate and cardiac o xygen consumption index were also decreased.CONCLUSION　PQDS had protective effects on acute myocardial ischemia including improving heart fu nction,decreasing cardiac oxygen consumption and increasing myocardial blood flo w,etc.

ObjectiveTo assess the clinical efficacy and safety of Aescuven forte in the young patients with craniocerebral trauma.Methods Eighty patients diagnosed with craniocerebral trauma were randomized into treatment group and control group,in which the patients were given Aescuven forte tablets 0.3 g t.i.d for 30 days and routine treatmentsrespectively.Barthel index, Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE)scale, Glasgow Coma Scale(GCS) and other clinical parameters were used to evaluate the efficacy by comparing their values before and 30 days after treatment.Results In the Aescuven forte treatment group, 35.0％ (14/40) and 50.0％ (20/40) of the patients showed complete response and partial response with the total response rate of 85.0％ (34/40) ,while they were 20.0％ (8/40) ,52.5％ (21/40) and 72.5％ (29/40) in the control group,respectively(x2 = 18.78 ,P ＜ 0.05) .The incidence of complications in Aescuven forte-treated group was lower than that in the control group.No severe adverse events occurred.Conclusion Aescuven forte is a safe and effective vasoactive drug for the recovery of craniocerebral trauma-caused neurological disorders and mental deterioration in young patients.

Callicarpa Linn.(beautyberry) is one of the major genera in Verbenaceae,about 20 of which are medicinal plants.Beautyberty,called Zizhu in China,is a generic name of those species and largely used as hemostatic medicine.The Chinese Pharmacopoeia 2010 has admitted three new crude drugs from the genus of Callicarpa Linn.including Callicarpae Macrophyllae Folium,Callicarpae Caulis et Folium,and Callicarpae Forraosanae Foliam for the first time since the 1977 version of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia.In order to better understand these new crude drugs,we systematically described their bibliography,admission reasons,botanical identification,chemistry,and pharmacology.Several other species,out of national regulations but intensively studied and widely used,are also covered in this review.

The present study retrospectively analyzed 13 patients with fibrous dysplasia of the adult proximal femur who received treatment at the Department of Orthopedics,Shenzhen Hospital,Peking University between March 2000 and June 2006.These patients comprised 6 males and 7 females,with an age of 21-35 years.Among 11 patients suffering from mild hip pain,6 presented with mild limping due to worsened pains,and 2 exhibited obvious manifestations of bone fracture.All patients underwent X-ray,CT examinations,and 3 were subjected to MRI examinations,prior to bone grafting and internal fixation.Monostotic lesion was observed in 10 patients and polystotic lesion in 3 patients,but endocrine disturbance was not observed in any patient.Nine patients suffered from lesions in the femoral neck and 4 from lesions in the femoral rotator.Curettage,autogenous and allogeneic bone grafting,and internal fixation with dynamic hip screws and proximal femoral nails were successfully performed in each patient.Internal fixation time averaged 165 minutes (range 120-210 minutes).During the early stage after surgery,weight-bearing activities were not permitted.Bone fracture healed after an average of 3 months.Eighteen to forty-eight months of follow-up demonstrated that clinical symptoms were relieved,with good hip joint function and basically normal gait.X-ray plains showed thickened cortical bone,as well as compacted ossification shadow in bone grafting region.In addition,partial bone absorption,but not recurrent clinically,was observed in 4 patients.These findings imply that thorough curettage,autogenous and allogeneic bone grafting,and internal fixation with dynamic hip screws and proximal femoral nails is a reliable method to treat fibrous dysplasia of the adult proximal femur and it can acquire satisfactory curative effects.

Objective To investigate the effects of the low-osmolar nonionic contrast media on renal function in elderly patients suffering from ischemic cerebral vascular disease and undergoing angiography.To study the incidence and risk factors for contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN).Methods 276 elderly patients who were going to receive selective cranial angiography and bilateral renal angiography were included.The 0.9 ％ sodium chloride (1 ml · kg-1 · h-1) was administered in all patients 6 hours before and 12 hours after contrast media administration.No patients suffered from obviously congestive heart failure.The levels of serum creatinine (Scr) and serum urea nitrogen (SUN) were measured 3 days before and at day 1,2,6 after the administration of contrast media respectively.Then creatinine clearance rate (Ccr) was calculated.Multivariate predictors of contrastinduced nephropathy were determined by logistic regression.Results Among the 276 patients,CIN occurred in 19 patients (6.9％),among whom 4 patients suffered from severe renal artery stenosis and received percutaneous transluminal renal angioplasty (PTRA) at 1 week after undergoing angiography.The renal function in the other 15 cases with CIN were recovered to baseline 1evel 3 months after the use of contrast media.No patients underwent a maintenance hemodialysis.In the 19 patients with CIN,the levels of SUN and Scr were higher and Ccr was lower at day 1 and 2 after angiography than before the procedure (all P ＜ 0.05),but the parameters were decreased to preoperative level at day 6 after angiography (all P＞0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that renal dysfunction,diabetes mellitus and severe renal artery stenosis were the major risk factors for contrast-induced nephropathy.Conclusions Low-osmoiar nonionic contrast used in angiography is safe for elderly patients if adequately hydrated with 0.9 ％ sodium chloride.The clinical risk factors for CIN are renal dysfunction,diabetes mellitus and severe renal artery stenosis.

Objective To observe the effect of a high temperature environment on IL-17 concentration , neutrophil and lymphocyte in peripheral blood of soldiers on a training task .Methods Totally 160 health training soldiers were randomly and equally divided into two groups .The test group was trained and exposed to an environment of ( 32 ±1 )℃ vs control group at ( 22 ±1 )℃ for 2 hours before the IL-17 levels in venous blood were measured and peripheral neutrophils and lymphocytes were determined.Results The body temperatures were (38.74 ±0.26),(39.23 ±0.24),and (39.51 ± 0.34)℃after training for 40 min,50 min,and 60 min under a high temperature environment , respectively, and there was a significant increase of body temperature compared to the soldiers trained under normal conditions (P <0.05).Their perceived exertion rating was 17.62 ±0.66, 18.03 ±0.56, and 18.47 ±0.84, respectively, much unlike the control group (P<0.05).After 2 hours of training under high temperature , the concentration of IL-17 was (7.12 ±4.03) pg/ml, while the number of neutrophils and lymphocytes was (6.43 ±1.27) ×109/L and (9.84 ±1.36) ×109/L, respectively in peripheral blood, significantly higher than in the control group (P <0.05).Conclusion The body temperature and rating of perceived exertion of the training soldiers are significantly elevated under a high temperature environment, and the concentration of IL-17, and the neutrophils and lymphocytes counts in peripheral blood are increased .

The influence of exercise at high temperature on adult males' routine blood indexes and biochemical indexes and the expression of HSP72 in peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBLs) was studied in order to provide theoretical ground for health supervision of adults receiving exercise at high temperature. 180 adult males were selected and divided into exercise group and control group, in which the exercise group was subdivided into subgroup 1 and subgroup 2 receiving exercise at high temperature in the afternoon and in the morning, respectively. Peripheral venous blood was phlebotomized before and after the exercise to examine routine blood indexes and blood biochemical indexes. The expression levels of HSP72 in PBLs were detected by flow cytometry. The results showed that the routine blood indexes and biochemical indexes in each group were within the range of normal values of male adults. There was no significant difference between each exercise group and control group in indexes before exercise. After exercise, the expression levels of HSP72 in PBLs in exercise groups were higher than those before exercise, and HSP72 expression levels in subgroup 1 were obviously higher than those in subgroup 2 and control group. The contents of ALT, urea, Na+, Cl-, Ca2+ and K+ in subgroups 1 and 2 were lower than those in control group, but CK level was higher than in control group (P<0.05). The contents of Na+ and Cl- in subgroup 1 were relatively lower than those in subgroup 2 (P<0.05). It was concluded that while receiving exercise at high temperature, adult males' HSP72 levels in PBLs could be increased and the biochemical indexes changed. Attention should be paid to health supervision to avoid obvious body injuries at high temperature.
