Objective To investigate the value of intra-cavitary contrast enhanced ultrasound(CEUS)in the location of drainage tubes which were unclear in conventional ultrasonography. Methods The locations of 32 drainage tubes in 26 patients were unclear in conventional ultrasonography. The diluted ultrasound contrast agent (SonoVue) was injected through the tubes. CEUS was used to evaluate the visualizations of the inner tubular portions and the distal ends. Whether the drainage tubes were in situ or not was also judged. The time-consumption of detection was counted. Results The percentages of the visualization of inner tubular portions and the distal ends in conventional ultrasonography were 52.25%(18/32) and 0,respectively. However, the percentages of visualization in CEUS were 100% and 93.75%(30/32), respectively. The difference were significant when compared conventional ultrasonography with CEUS ( P<0.001 ). CEUS detected that three drainage tubes weren't in situ. And the median of timeconsumption of CEUS was just 4. 5 seconds (range: 1-77 seconds). Conclusions Intra-cavitary CEUS is a sensitive and high efficient technique in the visualization of drainage tube which may complement the insufficiency of conventional ultrasonography. It could be used as the first choice in the location of drainage tube.

Lots of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) shares the same Chinese common names "Doukou". Because of similar Chinese names, appearances, functions and original plants, there are still no compromise on the original plants of "Doukou" up to now. Moreover, "Doukou" referred to more than one source of species, that is, it might refer to the Chinese crude drug derived from different plants during different historical periods. In order to identify the original botanical plants of "Doukou" during different historical periods and the relationship between these "Doukou", new bencaological studies of TCM under the name "Doukou" were carried out, which included the studies on literal description, image description, market investigation and systematic botanical research. A suggestion was made to change the Chinese name "Doukou" (Amomi Fructus Rotundus) to "Baidoukou".

Objective To evaluate the effect of different kind of intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) therapy in treating Kawasaki disease (KD) and preventing cardiac consequences (coronary artery lesion, CAL). Methods A questionnaire form and guideline for KD diagnosis were sent to 50 hospitals providing pediatric medical care in Shanghai. The data from a total of 1 682 KD patients were collected. It included 1 064 males and 618 females from 1998 through 2008 in Shanghai. The average age of the KD patients was (2.57±2.33) years old (0.1-18.8 years). The patients had been divided into 6 groups for different IVIG therapy, which included 1 g/kg once, 2 g/kg once, 0.4-0.5 g/kg five times, 1 g/kg twice, 2 g/kg twice and others. SAS 6.12 software was used for statistical analysis. Results In all KD patients, the patients treated with IV1G in 5th-10th day of illness has the least cardiac complication and CAL incidence and the group with IVIG therapy of 1 g/kg twice also has the least cardiac complication and CAL incidence. Conclusions The best doses of IVIG in treating KD is 1 g/kg twice and the IVIG therapy should be used in 5th-10th day of KD illness.
