Based on the questionnaires completed by 985 medical students,this article finds out that female students value more on the factors of health care and development when choosing a job,while male students are more confident in selecting goals and making career plans.Students from different family backgrounds have great difference when facing the elements such as reputation,social status and selfevaluation.Students from different majors take quite different opinions to health care,self evaluation,career information and career planning.There is little difference among different grades of medical students.Vocational values correlate positively with career decision-making self-efficacy.

Objective To investigate the clinical significance of plasma prothrombin activity (PTA) and serum alpha fetoprotein (AFP), prealbumin (PALB) in severe hepatitis patients treated with artificial liver plasma exchange. Methods The clinical data of 31 patients with severe hepatitis were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were treated with artificial liver plasma exchange based on the comprehensive treatment. The patients were divided into survival group (17 cases) and death group (14 cases) according to the clinical outcome. The plasma prothrombin time (PT) and serum AFP, PALB levels were detected before treatment, 3rd, 9th and 18th day after treatment and at the last time (prior to discharge/ in extrimis), and the PTA was counted. Results There was no statistical difference in PTA before treatment and 3rd day after treatment between 2 groups (P>0.05). The PTA levels 9th and 18th day after treatment and at the last time in death group were significantly lower than those in survival group:(30.17 ± 4.79)％vs. (39.74 ± 4.77)％, (25.47 ± 6.46)％vs. (42.79 ± 6.88)％and (21.40 ± 9.17)％vs. (47.17 ± 5.46)％,and there were statistical differences (P<0.05). There was no statistical difference in AFP before treatment between 2 groups (P>0.05);the AFP levels 3rd, 9th and 18th day after treatment and at the last time in death group were significantly lower than those in survival group:(121.9 ± 31.7)μg/L vs. (134.6 ± 31.8)μg/L, (88.7 ± 40.8)μg/L vs. (169.9 ± 41.7)μg/L, (56.9 ± 29.7)μg/L vs. (176.8 ± 48.1)μg/L and (29.8 ± 15.7) μg/L vs. (204.3 ± 41.2) μg/L, and there were statistical differences (P<0.05). There was no statistical difference in PALB before treatment between 2 groups (P>0.05); the PALB levels 3rd, 9th and 18th day after treatment and at the last time in death group were significantly lower than those in survival group: (107.2 ± 17.4) mg/L vs. (126.3 ± 33.2) mg/L, (91.2 ± 11.9) mg/L vs. (137.9 ± 35.7) mg/L, (54.7 ± 14.8) mg/L vs. (151.9 ± 27.9) mg/L and (43.3 ± 19.7) mg/L vs. (159.3 ± 41.2) mg/L, and there were statistical differences (P<0.05). Conclusions The plasma PTA and serum AFP, PALB levels are closely related with curative effect of artificial liver plasma exchange in severe hepatitis patients, and dynamic observation of its changes can help to determine the condition.

Protein arginine methyltransferase 5 (PRMT5) has been implicated as an important regulator of many cellular processes and signaling pathways,including chromatin remodeling,RNA splicing,DNA transcription,and cell proliferation.Therefore,structural and functional studies on PRMT5 are quite important.The full length ofPRMT5 gene was cloned into vector pGEX-4T-1,resulting in only low expression levels in Escherichia coli (E.colO.Here,it was showed that the several N-terminal amino acids deletions could result in a significant increase in the amount of soluble ft"action,while one of them did not affect the protein-arginine methyltransferase activity.And it was also found that the N-terminal 15 amino acids region of PRMT5 may be important for the catalytic activity.

Objective To investigate the relationship between expression of nuclear factor kappa B p65 ( NF-κB p65) and hippocampal neuronal apoptosis in acute necrotizing pancreatitis (ANP) rats with brain injury. Methods Sixty-four SD rats were randomized into normal saline group (NS) and ANP group. The ANP rat model was induced by retrograde injection of 4% sodium taurocholate into the pancreaticobiliary duct of SD rats. Nissle stain was used to detect the brain injury. Neuronal apoptosis was determined by TUNEL.NF-κB p65 expression was detected by immunohistochemistry and RT-PCR. Results Hippocampal neuron was absent, karyopyknosis, unclear nucleolus and decreased Nissl bodies were found, the injuries was aggravated with time. The apoptosis index at the 3, 6 and 12 h in ANP group was 10.63 ±0.24, 21.02±0.25, 17.12±0.36, respectively, while they were 0.33±0.19,0.71±0.67, 0.45 ± 0. 33 in NS group, and the difference was statistically significant ( P ＜ 0. 01 ). The expressions of NF-κB p65 mRNA were 0. 63 ± 0.05,1.05 ±0.06,0.92 ±0.05, which were significantly higher than those in the NS group (0.11 ±0.01,0.12±0.01,0.08±0.01,P＜0.05).The chatge of expression of NF±κB p65 protein was consistent with that of NF-κB p65 mRNA. Conclusions The brain injury of ANP rats was highly correlated with neuronal apoptosis at the early and middle phase of ANP, and its mechanism may be related with NF-κB p65 activation.

Objective To probe multislice spiral computed tomography(MSCT) features of superacute cerebral infarction.Methods 19 cases with superacute cerebral infarction were retrospectively analysed.MSCT scans were performed in all patients at 1～6 h after onset,and the lesions were proved by MSCT or MR at 3 h～5 d after onset.MSCT signs of superacute cerebral infarction were observed.Results 17 cases and 2 cases were diagnosed and suspectively diagnosed with superacute cerebral infarction by CT at first visit of patients.CT features of superacute cerebral infarction included hypodense of cerebral parenchyma in 19 cases,local cerebral swelling in 13 cases and hyperdense sign of cerebral artery in 3 cases.Conclusion MSCT plain scan has significant value in diagnosis of superacute cerebral infarction.

Objective The periacetabular tumor has a low rate of incidence, but its special location poses a challenge to clinical treatment.The aim of this study was to discuss the methods, effects, and complications of surgical treatment of periacetabular tumors. Methods We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 36 cases of periacetabular tumor surgically treated in our depart-ment, including 21 males and 15 females, aged 15 to 64 (45.2 ±6.3) years.Among them, there were 8 cases of benign tumor (4 ca-ses of simple bone cyst, 1 case of desmoplastic fibromas, 1 case of osteofibrous dysplasia, and 2 cases of hemangioma) and 28 cases of malignant tumor (5 cases of osteosarcomas, 12 cases of chondrosarcomas, 2 cases of giant cell tumor of the bone, 1 case of malignant chondroblastoma, 2 cases of malignant fibrohistiocytoma, and 5 cases of metastatic tumor of the bone).The benign cases received sim-ple tumor resection plus bone graft and steel plate system internal fixation, while malignant cases underwent reconstruction by combined pedicle screw fixation system with bone cement. Results No patients died perioperatively and controllable complications occurred in 5 cases after operation.All the patients were followed up for 5 to 96 months except for 1 case of benign tumor.None of the benign cases experienced recurrence, and all of them achieved normal hip function.Lung metastases occurred in 10 malignant cases (4 cases of os-teosarcomas and 6 cases of chondrosarcomas) , who died of respiratory failure, and the other 18 remained tumor-free after surgery.Of the 2 patients with malignant fibrohistiocytoma, 1 died 2 years postoperatively and the other survived with tumor.Neither local recur-rence nor lung metastasis was found in the patients with chordoma and malignant chondroblastoma till the end of follow-up.The 5 pa-tients with metastases died within 3 years after operation.At 3 months after surgery, the Harris scores after total hip replacement were >90 in the 7 benign cases, 70-79 in 9 malignant cases, and <70 in the other 19 malignant cases. Conclusion For the treatment of malig-nant tumors, reconstruction by combined pedicle screw fixation system with bone cement does not affect the general daily activities of the pa-tients.Preoperative embolization of the internal iliac artery can reduce bleeding and improve operation safety, and measures should be taken to minimize postoperative complications.

Assessing dry weight accurately is crucial in providing effective and safe haemodialysis. Biases towards dry weight assessment may bring a series of dialysis complications. This study introduces an online detection technique of relative blood volume (RBV) based on ultrasound, which analyzes the correlation between changes in blood density and sound speed. By measuring the attenuation in sound velocity, this method was employed to calculate RBV, and then to evaluate the dry weight of patients on dialysis. TDC-GP2 time measurement chip and MSP430 Single-chip Microcontroller (SCM) were used in the system to measure the ultrasonic travel time. In the clinical trials, RBV values range between 71.3% and 108.1%, showing consistent result with Fresenius 4008S blood volume monitor (BVM). This detection method possesses several advantages, such as real time, convenient, reproducible, non-invasive, and etc.

Objective Kunming strain(KM) mice were used as animal models. Nontoxic dextran conjugated with tetramethylrhodamine(TMR)and fluorecein isothiocyante(FITC)was microinjected to two of the 2-cell blastomere as molecular probe to trace the development fate of the blastomere ,in order to figure out the mechanisms of the formation of Em-Ab axis. Methods FITC- dextran was injected to zygote in order to make sure if it is noxious. Two blastomeres of 2-cell embryo were injected FITC- dextran and TMR- dextran respectively. Results When labeled embryo develeped to blastocyst, distribution of progeny of 2-cell embryo blastomeres can be detected.Conclusion The cells of blastomere randomly distributed either embryonic parts or extraembryonic parts of blastocyst.

Objective To explore the CT features of renal epithelioid angiomyolipoma (EAML), and to improve the diagnosis of this disease.Methods The clinical materials and image findings of 15 cases (8 female, 7 male) with renal EAML proved by pathologies were retrospectively studied.Plain and enhancement CT scan were performed in all 15 patients.Nine of the 15 cases were correctly diagnosed and the other were misdiagnosed as renal cell carcinoma (RCC) (n=5), renal oncocytoma (n=1).Results There were some distinctive findings of EAML: (1) Little hypodense or iso-high-density, well defined, round lesion with diameter of 2 to 5 cm.(2) The tumor may involve the medulla of kidney or grow out without haematuria.(3) Most lesions showed obviously uniformity enhancement at artery phase, with a few of them showed inhomogeneous enhancement There were thickening and circuitous vessels in a few lesions.(4) Enhancement mode was quick-in and quick-out.Conclusions CT findings combined with clinical materials have important value in making a correct diagnosis of EAML preoperatively.
