Objective To sum up the experience on diagnosis and treatment of Hashimoto disease and its concurrent thyropathy. Methods Clinical data were analyzed on 52 cases of Hashimoto disease(HD) surgically found to have concurrent thyropathy from Jan 1984 to Jun 2001 out of 138 HD cases undergoing surgery. Results Thyroid nodules were found in all 52 HD cases, among which 17 were with thyroid cancer, 2 with malignant lymphoma, 5 with thyroid adenoma, 2 with hyperthyroidism, and 26 with nodular goiter. Thyroidectomy of different extent was performed. Postoperatively all cases were given thyroxine. On follow-up a patient with malignant lymphoma died, and one patient suffered hypothyroidism. Conclusion HD is a ubiquitous disease. The clinical diagnosis of is still difficult. HD cases complicated with thyroid nodules should be treated surgically to exclude malignant tumors. Intraoperative frozen section is a reliable diagnostic method and may guide the surgical modality.

Purpose:To evaluate the effect of 3DRT for malignant biliary obstruction and to find a more effective method of treatment.Methods:Form October 1998 to September 2000,35 patients with malignant biliary obstruction ,3-4 Gy of 5 fractions a week to total doses from 38 to 48 Gy.Results:All cases completed radiation. CR rates were 24%,PR rates were 63%,the overal response rate (CR+PR) was 87%. A significant decrease of bilirubin levels was observed in 29 patients,no serious complications occured. 1-2 year survival rates were 70% and 21%.Conclusions:3DRT is well tolerated in most patients with malignant biliary obstruction,its effect is better than the conventional radiation and it is a more effective treatment for the malignant biliary obstruction.

Objective To discusses the clinical features of early inflammatory bowel obstruction (EPIS-BO) after abdominal surgery,and analyze diagnosis and treatment. Methods The clinical data of 48 patients with early inflammatory bowel obstruction after abdominal surgery were analyzed retrospectively from July 2005 to July 2015. Results 45 patients were recovered after non-operative treatment including gastrointestinal decompression , total parenteral nutrition (TPN),antibiotics,glucocorticoid and somatostatin. The average time of treatment was 17.45 days. The other 3 patients underwent laparotomy respectively on 16,19 and 20 days after conservative treat-ment.Two cases were turned to intestinal fistula after operation ,and one of them died after reoperation because of severe abdominal infection 9 days later. Conclusion Conservative treatment should be regarded as the first choice for EPISBO in clinical practice due to less complications and better effect than operative treatment.

Objective:To analyze the perception and evaluation of rural patients with hypertension and diabetes on the health management services , thereby identifying the problems and proposing countermeasures .Methods:570 rural patients with hypertension and diabetes were investigated by the stratified random sampling method .Descriptive statistic method and logistic regression analysis were applied to analyze the rural patients'perception and evaluation on the health management services .Results: The majority of rural patients with chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes were alerted of the health management service .The satisfaction rate on the disease control effect was 82.28%, and that among patients below the age of 60 years old was lower than that of the others ( P <0.05 ) . 77 .24%of patients deemed that some services such as on-site visit , physical examination and prevention of complica-tions were deficient (the selection rates among patients were 11.90%, 10.41% and 9.29% respectively).The health management services problems mainly included deficiency of on-site visits, incomplete medical equipments and service items ( the selection rates among patients were 16.36%, 9.29%and 8.92%respectively ) .Conclusions:In order to improve the quality and positive effect of health management for patients with hypertension and diabetes , the collaborative mechanism between township institutions should be developed , the government should increase invest-ment in rural public health , strengthen the rural heath personnel brainstorming , and on-site visits and debates on health should be reasonably arranged according to the needs of rural patients , and the quality and effectiveness of the management of hypertension and diabetes together with other chronic diseases should be improved .

Objective：To investigate the changes of calcitonin gene-related peptide immunoreactive (CGRP-IR)nerve fibers in rat dental pulps during acute inflammation. Methods： Rat acute pulpitis model was established by silk thread ligation and the change of CGRP-IR nerve fibers was observed with immunohistochemical method.Results： In radical pulp,the CGRP-IR nerve fibers became denser and more heavily stained；in the coronal pulp,the number of CGRP-IR nerve fibers decreased,but the background staining was heavier. Conclusion： During acute inflammation,the amount of CGRP increases in dental pulps, and is released into the surronding tissue in a large scale in the coronal region.

Objective To explore the clinico-pathological characteristics of primary breast lymphoma(PBL).Methods The clinical data of 36 cases of PBL were analyzed retrospectively.Results Among the 36 cases of PBL,16 patients presented with stage Ⅰa disease,14 patients with stage IIa disease,2 patients with stageⅡb disease,and 4 patients with stage Ⅳ.All of the patients underwent surgery and chemotherapy,and 20 cases had radiotherapy.Thirty three patients(91.7%) were followed up for 3-193 months,during which time,12 patients died,including 2 patients died of brain metastases,five patients died of bone metastasis,and five patients died of diffuse hepatic and pulmonary metastasis.In the 21 surviving patients,the survival time was 3～192 months,and the median survival time was 43.5 months.The overall 3-and 5-year survival rate was 70.1% and 49.0%,respectively.Conclusions Most PBL are NHL.PBL is diagnosed basically by methods of pathology and immunohistochemistry,and operation combined with chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy is the best treatment method.

AIM: Based on the finding of adipophilin expression with the increase in cellular cholesterol, the aim of the present study was to look for the active site of adipophilin in cellular cholesteryl metabolism. METHODS: Mouse peritoneal macrophages were incubated with 80 mg/L Ox-LDL (Ox-LDL group) or 80 mg/L Ox-LDL plus 1 mmol/L adipophilin antisense oligonucleotides (Ox-LDL+antisense group), respectively. At the various time points, the incubated cell samples were observed with adipophilin immunofluorescence staining, flow cytometric analysis and cellular cholesterol analysis. RESULTS: The Ox-LDL+antisense group cells contained significantly lower cholesteryl ester (19.9?1.9) mg/g (protein) than that of cells in Ox-LDL group (46.6?3.4) mg/g (protein) at 4 days. From 12 h, expression of adipophilin in Ox-LDL group increased more quickly than that of the cells in Ox-LDL+antisense group. At day 4, the level of adipophilin expression in Ox-LDL group was significantly higher than that in Ox-LDL+antisense group. During the observation, the amount of Ox-r[CL-3H] LDL taking up increased gradually in both groups, however, from day 1 the taking up amount in Ox-LDL+antisense group was less than that in Ox-LDL group. There was a statistical difference between the two groups from day 2 to day 4. From 6 h to day 2, the relative ACAT activity increased in both groups. The relative ACAT activity kept unchanged from day 2 to day 4 in the two groups. At day 2, the relative ACAT activity in Ox-LDL+antisense group was significantly lower than that in Ox-LDL group. BACKGROUND: Previous research has investigated the effect of nano-zirconium dioxide-toughened hydroxyapatite (nano-ZrO2-HA) on the proliferation and differentiation of rabbit bone marrow stromal cells.OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the biocompatibility of nano-ZrO_2-HA compound.METHODS: The experiments of acute toxicity,subacute toxicity,pyrogen,hemolysis,and intramuscular implantation were performed on New Zealand rabbits,healthy adult Kunming mice,and adult rats according to "Technical Evaluation Standards of Biomedical Materials and Medical Instruments",promulgated by Chinese Board of Health.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Acute toxicity: All experimental animals survived.There was no significant difference in body mass before and after testing (P> 0.05).Pyrogen: Heating reaction was not tested.Hemolysis: Generally speaking,hemolytic crisis was not observed after 1 hour,and hemolytic rate was less than 5%.Intramuscular implantation: Infection did not occur in any animals,and materials were not discharged at all.Four weeks later,muscles were closely integrated with materials.A certain quantity of tissue grew into material pore,and peripheral muscle still had normal morphology and structure.Subacute toxicity:There was no significant difference in body mass and blood routine before and 2 weeks after testing.HE staining demonstrated that necrotic focus and other lesion were not observed in heart,liver,and kidney tissues under optic microscope.The results suggested that nano-ZrO_2-HA was non-toxicity,and it had no pyrogen and hemolysis effect,as well as it did not stimulate to the muscle of rabbit.Inflammatory rejection did not happen to the animal.The nano-ZrO_2-HA was closely integrated with the muscle,characterizing by great biocompatibility.Therefore,it can be used as substitution materials in clinical experiment.But it still needs to be evaluated completely.
