Objective to investigate the role of Pim‐3 and NF‐κB in the development and progression of infiltrating ductal carcinoma of the breast .Methods Here ,we used immunohistochemistry to detect expression of Pim‐3 and NF‐κB in 75 samples of infiltrating ductal breast carcinoma ,21 samples of intraductal breast carcinoma and 30 normal breast tissues .The relationship of their expression ,as well as their correlation with clinicopathological features and patient survival were assessed .Results In con‐trast ,both Pim‐3 and NF‐κB were more commonly detected in infiltrating ductal carcinoma than in intraductal carcinoma and normal tissue .In the infiltrating ductal carcinoma ,the positive expression rate of Pim‐3 was 77 .3% ,and that of NF‐κB was 68 .0% ;in duc‐tal carcinoma of the breast ,the positive expression rate of Pim‐3 was 52 .4% ,and that of NF‐κB was 42 .9% ;in the normal breast tissue ,the positive expression rate of Pim‐3 was 23 .3% ,and that of NF‐κB was 16 .7% ;the positive expression rate of Pim‐3 was correlated with tumor size ,histological grade ,and clinicopathological stage ;and that of NF‐κB was correlated with tumor size ,histo‐logical grade ,lymph node metastasis of breast cancer .Spearman rank correlation analysis revealed a positive correlation between Pim‐3 expression and NF‐κB expression in infiltrating breast cancer (r=0 .243) .Conclusion Our results demonstrate that Pim‐3 and NF‐κB play a role in the initiation and development of breast cancer ,thus ,these proteins may serve as useful diagnostic and prognostic markers of invasive breast cancer .

Objective To investigate the effect of tripterygium on the grow th ,invasion and angiogenesis of melanoma A375 and its action mechanisms .Methods MTS was used to test the effect of tripterygium on proliferation of A375 melanoma;the nude mouse subcutaneous melanoma xenograft model was used to detect the effect of tripterygium on tumor growth ;the Transwell ex‐periment was used to determine the effect of tripterygium on invasion of A 375 melanoma;the tubule formation experiment was used to determine the effect of tripterygium on tumor angiogenesis ;ELISA was used to detect the influence of tripterygium on A 375 cel‐lular secretion factors ,such as VEGF ,bFGF ,TGF‐βand IL‐8 .Results The in vitro proliferation and in vivo growth of A375 mela‐noma cells after tripterygium treatment were significant inhibited ,the invasion ability of A375 melanoma cells was significant weak‐ened compared with the control group ;tripterygium could inhibit tumor cell‐induced vessel formation by down‐regulating the ex‐pression of VEGF ,bFGF and IL‐8 proteins ,but it had no influence on expression of TGF‐βprotein .Conclusion Tripterygium has anti‐growth and anti‐invasion effects on A375 melanoma ,its potential mechanisms may associated with the inhibition of tumor an‐giogenesis of A375 melanoma .

Objective To observe the feasibility and safety of CT-guided fine-needle assisted localization for puncturing difficult lung or liver lesions. Methods Data of 30 patients with single difficult lung or liver lesion,i.e.lesion located at difficult part for puncturing or deep lesion with diameter of 0.5-2.0 cm who underwent CT-guided 22G needle assisted localization before puncturing were retrospectively analyzed. The success rate of fine-needle assisted localization, the success rate of the first-time puncturing and the occurrence of complications were recorded. Results Among 30 difficult lesions, there were 27 lung lesions and 3 hepatic lesions, with a mean diameter of(1.0±0.4)cm.Assisted localization of difficult lesions were successfully performed with 22G needle under CT guidance at the edge of lesion,1 cm adjacent to lesion or at the puncture path, with success rate of fine-needle assisted localization of 100%,and no obvious complication happened. The followed operations included preoperative localization of 14 lung nodules, biopsy of 10 lung nodules and 3 liver nodules,as well as microwave ablation of 3 liver nodules, with the success rate of the first-time puncturing of 100%.Mild pneumothorax was observed in 3 cases(3/27,11.11%)of difficult lung lesions after biopy. No other obvious complication occurred. Conclusion CT-guided fine-needle assisted localization for percutaneous puncturing difficult lung or liver lesions was feasible and safe.
