?AlM: To analyze the result of ultrasound biomicroscopy ( UBM ) of patients with rhegmatogenous retinal detachment ( RRD ) who need to perform pars plana vitrectomy ( PPV ) to explore the value of clinical application of UBM at preoperation.
?METHODS:Patients who underwent PPV for RRD in our hospital from January to December 2014 were selected. The preoperative results of UBM were recorded and the positive findings of UBM were analyzed, the value of preoperative application of UBM was investigated.
?RESULTS:Totally 356 cases (357 eyes) of patients with RRD were received PPV. All patients were examined by UBM, 122 eyes ( 34. 17%) were positive, 56 eyes were ciliochoroidal detachment, 28 eyes were narrow anterior chamber angle, 6 eyes were chamber angle-closure, 28 eyes were ciliary body cyst, 4 eyes were iris cyst, 11 eyes were anterior proliferative vitreoretinopathy, 1 eye was retinal cyst. There were 12 eyes existing two lesions at the same times. ln this study, patients with choroidal detachment was detected by UBM in 56 eyes, the positive rate was 15. 7%, while 25 eyes was detected by B -ultrasonography, the positive was 7. 0%. The difference was statistical significant(χ2=13. 382, P<0. 05).
?CONCLUSlON: The patients with RRD have underwent PPV for the condition of illness, preoperative UBM can be examined to detect the condition of anterior chamber angle, iris, ciliary and anterior choroid, which is significant for comprehensively understanding the preoperative condition of patients, estimating the difficulty of the operation, and guiding operation and the postoperative follow-up.

AIM:To investigate the findings of the eyes which were examined preoperatively by three mirror contact lens before the implantation of implantable collamer lens ( ICL) . To analysis the retinal pathological changes and to explore the clinical analysis of early diagnosis and treatment in retinopathy on fundus examination before operation.
METHODS:The retrospective case series study included 127 eyes of 64 patients who underwent phakic intraocular lens implantation were received the fundus examination by three mirror from April 2011 to April 2012 in our hospital. The age, refractive diopter, the findings of Goldmann three mirror examination and the condition of retinal photocoagulation were analysed and concluded.RESULTS:A total of 34 eyes (26. 8%) out of all 127 eyes ( 64 cases ) were found to have peripheral retinal pathological changes. Eight eyes ( 6. 3%) with retinal holes, 15 eyes(11. 8%) with retinal lattice degeneration, 5 eyes ( 3.9%) with retina cream degeneration, 3 eyes (2.4%)with retinal paving stone degeneration,2 eyes with vitreoretinal adhesion and traction, 1 eye ( 0. 8%) with retinal hemorrhage. Twenty-five cases were given retinal photocoagulation and then received the ICL implantation after 3mo. The follow - up time was 1a. No retinal detachment happened.
CONCLUSION: Phakic before intraocular lens implantation for fundus examination by three mirror is contributed to find the peripheral retinal pathological changes and abnormity. And make the appropriate treatment before operation for improving the security of operation, it can also give help to the postoperative follow-up of the fundus of these patients.

Chlamydial infection in human urogenital tract induces inflammation and causes tissue damage and scarring. It is thought that cytokine production by the Chlamydia-infected cells plays a key role in chlamydial disease processes. Although many cytokines have been detected during chlamydial infection, little is known about the molecular mechanisms on how Chlamydia triggers and sustains the inflammatory cytokine cascades. In the current study, chlamydial infection of the human cervical epithelial cell line HeLa cells can induce the production of IL-8, IL-1α, IL-1β and IL-6. Using inhibitors for probing intracellular kinase signaling pathways required for the Chlamydia-induced cytokines, it was found that the Chlamydia-activated MAPK / P38 pathway is required for the chlamydial induction of IL-1α and IL-6 while both the Chlamydia-activated MAPK/ERK and MAPK/P38 pathways contribute to the production of IL-8.

BACKGROUND:intervertebral disc degeneration can reduce nucleus pulposus cells,and peroxiredoxin II involved in the regulation of resist oxidation damage,cell division,differentiation,signal transduction and apoptosis.Peroxiredoxin Ⅱ has promotive effect on intervertebral disc degeneration,whereas the mechanism remains poorly understood.OBJECTIVE:To observe the effects of perexiredoxin Ⅱ on human intevertebral disc cells activity and type Ⅱ collagen synthesis in vitro.METHODS:Human degenerated human lumbar disc cells were cultured in vitro,and assigned into the control and peroxidase Ⅱ groups.Peroxidase Ⅱ with doses of 10,100 and 1 000 ng/L were added into the peroxidase Ⅱ groups.The cells were identified by immunohistochemical staining,and the cell proliferation was detected using cck-8 kit.Cell supematant was collected at days 3 and 7 after operation,and the expression of type Ⅱ collagen was measured by double-antibody sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:In vitro cultured human degenerative lumbar intervertebral disc nucleus pulposus cells by adding peroxidase increased with the dose-Ⅱ,the disc nucleus pulposus cells of the volume and type Ⅱ collagen synthesis gradually reduced(P ＜ 0.01).Tips peroxidase Ⅱ on the intervertebral disc nucleus pulposus cells,the number and type Ⅱ collagen synthesis significantly inhibited in a dose-dependent manner.Thus speculated that peroxidase Ⅱ on the nucleus pulposus cells in vitro may lead to disc degeneration as a precipitating factor.

Objective To evaluate the role of prostaglandin E2 (EP) receptors in H9c2 cardiomyocyte hypertrophy induced by prostaglandin E2 (PGE2).Methods Primary cultured H9c2 cardiomyocytes were seeded in culture flasks (3 ml/flask) or in 24-well plate (1 ml/hole) or 6-well plate (2 ml/hole) with density of 4 × 104/ml.The cells were randomly divided into 4 groups (n=24 each): control group (group C),PGE2 group,AH6809 (EP1 and EP2 receptor antagonist) group (group A) and GW627368X (EP4 receptor antagonist) group (group G).The cells were continuously cultured for 48 h.PGE2 (final concentration 1 μmol/L) was added to the culture medium in PGE2 group.PGE2 (final concentration 1 μmol/L) and A H6809 (final concentration 10 μmol/L) were added to the culture medium in group A.PGE2 (final concentration 1 μmol/L) and GW627368X (final concentration 10 μmol/L) were added to the culture medium.The cells were then cultured for 48 h in groups PGE2,A and G.Then the cell morphology was observed by using fluorescent microscope.The cell diameter was measured by using the Image J medical image analysis system.Total protein content in the cells was measured with BCA method.The expression of atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) mRNA and brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) mRNA in the cytoplasm was determined using RT-PCR.Results Compared with group C,the total protein in the cells and cell diameter were significantly increased,and the expression of ANP mRNA and BNP mRNA in the cytoplasm was up-regulated in groups PGE2,A and G (P ＜ 0.05).Compared with group PGE2,the total protein in the cells and cell diameter were significantly decreased,and the expression of ANP mRNA and BNP mRNA in the cytoplasm was downregulated in group G (P ＜ 0.05),and no significant change was found in the parameters mentioned above in group A (P ＞ 0.05).Conclusion EP4 receptor mediates H9c2 cardiomyocyte hypertrophy induced by PGE2 and the effect is not related to EP1 and EP2.
