1.DIGESTIBILITY, NITROGEN BALANCES AND ENERGY METABOLISM IN PIGLETS RAISED ON SOYAPROTEIN CONCENTRATE
Acta Nutrimenta Sinica 1956;0(02):-
1. A trial with 4 pairs of piglets (litter mates) fed a synthetic diet ba- sed on 25% purified soya protein concentrate, Danpro-A, 25% soluble ma ize starch, 14.6% glucose, 12.0% lactose, 5% soya oil and 5% lard without (diet A) or with a supplement of 0.2% DL-methionine (diet B) has been carried out. The piglets were kept individually in metabolic crates during the whole experimental time from 7 to 56 days of age. By means of bottles with lambteats they could suck their liquid diet at any time. Five to six consecutive balances were carried out with each piglet in order to measure the digestibility, metabolizability, nitrogen balances and energy metabolism (Indirect calorimetry, open-air respiration chambers).2. No significant differences were found concerning feed intake or live weight gain between the piglets on diet A or B.3. The digestibility of dry matter, organic matters, nitrogen and energy together with the metabolizability (ME/GE) were significantly lower for piglets below 4 weeks of age than above that age where a high digestibility and metabolizability of about 95% were obtained with no significant difference between diet A and B.4. The intake of nitrogen was kept relatively low (17.4% crude protein in the diets) in order to measure any differences in the nitrogen metabolism which might occur by adding methionine. With the low nitrogen intake the nitrogen retention was a linear function of digested nitrogen. No significant difference was found between diet A and B, The pooled data gave a regression of RN = -0.524 + 0.829 DN5. Energy retention in relation to total ME gave a regression coefficient of 0.436 with no significant difference between diet A and B.6. The proportion between energy gain in fat and protein was fairly constant about 1.4 during the experimental time with no significant difference between diet A and B.7. The daily maintenance requirement was found to be 575KgJ/kg0.75 with no significant difference between the diets.8. The net availability of ME for growth, Kg, was high 0.767 but the accuracy of the estimate was low with CV=14.6%.9. The hige digestibility of nitrogen, the high utilization of digested nitrogen and the high value of Kg indicate that a soya protein concentrate as Danpro-A can be used as the only protein source in a sowmilk substitute. Adding 0.2% DL-methionine to the diet has not improved the results.
2.Research on progress of survivin and apoptosis in lung cancer
Journal of International Oncology 2010;37(12):913-915
Survivin is one of inhibitors of apoptosis protein family members. It is highly expressed in lung cancer. Survivin can inhibit apoptosis. Apoptosis is closely related with development and prognosis in lung cancer. Survivin and apoptosis might become breakthrough point in treatment of lung cancer.
3.Research progress on radiotherapy of esophageal carcinoma
Chinese Journal of Clinical Oncology 2016;43(12):527-530
Esophageal cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors in the digestive tract. Its morbidity and mortality rates are high. Local advanced esophageal cancer relapses easily after operation and has a poor prognosis. Operation-based comprehensive treatment plays an important role in reducing the recurrence rate and increasing the survival rate. Radiotherapy is an important part of comprehensive treatment. From conventional radiotherapy two dimeusional conformal (2DCRT) to three dimensional conformal ra-diotherapy (3DCRT), intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), image guide radiation therapy (IGRT), and volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT), radiotherapy technologies have experienced significant development. This development optimized the dose distri-bution and improved the accuracy of radiation. It has also provided a new understanding of the methods of radiotherapy, such as pre-operation radiotherapy, post-operation radiotherapy, and radiotherapy combined with chemotherapy. The progress of radiotherapy re-search on esophageal cancer is reviewed in this paper.

8.Lipoprotein lipase activity anti its relationship to serum lipid levels in elderly
Clinical Medicine of China 2008;24(8):775-777
Objective To evaluate lipoprotein lipase (LPL) activity and its relationship to serum lipid. Methods Serum triglyceride (TG) ,total cholesterol (TC), low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) and postheparin LPL activity in 40 elderly subjects and 45 subjects in control group. Results TG,TC and LDL-C levels were much higher in the elderly than in control group (P <0.05 orP <0.01) ;postheparin LPL activity was lower in elderly (P <0.05) ; and showed a negative correlation with serum TG level (r = -0. 513 ,P < 0.01), but was positively correlated with serum HDL-C concentration (r = 0. 390, P < 0.05). Conclusion The decreased activity of LPL in the elderly may contribute to hypertriglyceridemia associated with low level of high density lipoprotein cholesterol, and could be a risk factor for atherosclerosis.
9.Paradoxical role of Kupffer cells on ischemia/reperfusion injury in liver transplantation
International Journal of Surgery 2009;36(2):94-97
Kupffer cells, the resident macrophages of the liver, play an important role in ischemia/reperfusion(L/R)injury in liver transplantation. 1schemic liver is reperfused through portal vein, and then Kupffer cells are activated. The liver is damaged by the released reactive oxygen species, inflammatory mediators and cytokines. On the other hand, upregulation of HO-1, induced by the activated kupffer cells, exerts a cytoprotective function for the IYR injury in liver transplantation models. Thus, Kupffer cells play the dual role on L/R injury in liver transplantation.

Basic & Clinical Medicine 2010;30(2):209-211
In recent years, researchers have made some breakthroughs on human embryonic stem cells, in particular, on reprogramming differentiated cell (such as human skin fibroblast) into human embryonic stem cell. Induced pluripotent stem cells could be generated from human skin fibroblasts by inducting into four transcription factors known as OCT3/4, SOX2, C-MYC and KLF4. This approach enables better understanding the pathogenesis of diseases from the perspective of genetic component and promising in the treatment of related diseases. This article introduces the latest advancement of those researches.
