1.Research on spinal cord stimulation for treatment of cerebral ischemia
Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong University(Medical Science) 2009;29(10):1259-1262
Cerebral ischemia is one of the diseases of the central nervous system, which is harmful to the morphology and function of brain cells due to reduced cerebral blood flow. Increasingly more reports have demonstrated that spinal cord stimulation could augment the cerebral blood flow, which is expected to be a potential method for the treatment of cerebral ischemia. In this article, the research progress and related problems of spinal cord stimulation for the treatment of cerebral ischemia are reviewed.

3.Anatomic and functional reconstruction of the spinal posterior column after resection of intraspinal neoplasms
Chinese Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma 2016;18(6):535-538
Objective To investigate the operative outcomes of anatomic and functional reconstruction of the spinal posterior column after resection of intraspinal neoplasms. Methods From January 2010 through October 2014,we treated 32 patients with intraspinal neoplasm in the spine. They were 18 men and 14 women,13 to 62 years of age (average,38 years). The neoplasm was detected in the cervical spine in 10 cases,in the thoracic spine in 14 and in the lumbar spine in 8.All cases received expansive open door laminoplasty via the posterior approach for resection of the intraspinal neoplasm, followed by replantation and titanium plate fixation for anatomic and functional reconstruction of the spinal posterior column. The neural functional recovery, spinal motion and sagittal diameter of the spinal canal before and after operation, spinal stability and graft fusion were observed. Results The patients were followed up for 3 to 23 months (average,13 months). All the intraspinal neoplasms were completely resected. The Frankel grading of neural functional recovery was improved differently in all the cases.By the final follow-ups,the spinal motion was normal in all the cases, without any significant limitation.Graft fusion and rigid internal fixation were achieved in all the cases.Short-term follow-ups revealed no signs of spondylolisthesis or spinal instability. At the final follow-ups,the 3-D CT reconstruction showed no significant shortening in the sagittal diameter of the same spinal canal before and after operation (P >0.05).Conclusions For intraspinal neoplasm in the spine, the whole vertebral lamina is opened or removed via the posterior approach to resect the neoplasm, followed by reduction of the vertebral lamina and mini titanium plate fixation to reconstruct the anatomy and function of the original spine. This is an ideal way to treat intraspinal neoplasms in the spine.
4.SOX1 and tumor
Journal of International Oncology 2013;40(8):566-569
SOX1,a member of the SOX transcript factor super family, has been demonstrated having the functions of regulating the development of human embryonic neural system and crystalline lens, and the additional function of SOX1 in tumors are attracting more and more attention as well.It is reported in resent years that SOX1 is detected lowly expressed in many kinds of tumor issues, which owns to the methylation of SOX1.SOX1 can also regulate the abilities of tumors on proliferation, invasion and migration.Besides,SOX1 may play a crucial role in regulation of the differentiation of cancer stem cells.Further research of SOX1 and its function among related pathways may contribute to seeking for new therapies for tumor treatment.

Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong University(medical Science) 2010;30(1):108-111
Stroke is characterized by a group of acute cerebral vascular diseases which attack acutely with focal neurological deficits. Residual motor deficits often sojourn after stroke. Cortical stimulation, which is a technique developed many decades ago, has recently re-emerged as a promising method for researchers in their quest to causally probe cortical representations of sensorimotor and cognitive functions and to facilitate the treatment of various neuropsychiatric disorders. The article summarizes the research progress of cortical stimulation in the promotion of motor function recovery after stroke, the method of operation, the possible mechanisms and the prospect.

Objective To prepare 99Tcm-B2-S22-AFA (99Tcm-TP1623)and investigate its biodistribution and kinetic imaging in healthy animals. Methods TP-1623 was synthesized and labeled indirectly by 99Tcm using stannous chloride as the reductive agent. The labeling rate was determined with chromatography using Whatman 3MM filter paper and by calculating the specific activity. The biodistribution of 99Tcm-TP1623 was tested at 1,5,10,30,60,120 min after intravenous injection into mice.According to the SPECT images and the time response of the radioactivity in the region of interest (ROI),the dynamic distribution of 99Tcm-TP1623 was assayed. Results The radiolabeling rate of 99Tcm-TP1623 was (96.4-± 0.1) % and the specific activity was (24.35 ± 0.06) TBq/mmol.After being conserved at room temperature for 4 h,the radiochemical purity of 99Tcm-TP1623 was (95.03 ± 0.97) %.The oil-water distribution coefficient was-(2.51 ± 0.15).The bio-distribution test showed that the radioactivity in mice blood disappeared very fast over time by a quick excretion through renal.Meanwhile, the radioactivities in the heart, lung, liver, muscle and bone of mice decreased gradually along time and after 60 min they approached to the lowest levels. The radioactivity in brain always kept at a low level, but the radioactivity in intestinal increased slowly. For rabbits, the SPECT images showed that the radioactivity in blood disappeared quickly and the radioactivities were eliminated through kidneys.Meanwhile there were excretion images in gallbladder and intestinal, but no obvious nuclide accumulation in thyroids and stomach, and low radioactivity in brain as well. Conclusions 99Tcm-TP1623 is easy to prepare and has a high radiolabeling efficiency and good stability in vivo and in vitro, and it has excellent dynamic characteristics in normal animals.

Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2015;29(2):102-107
OBJECTIVE:
In this study, we have detected the expression of STC2 protein in laryngeal cancer and The safe incisal margin by immunohistochemical staining, to evaluate its correlation with clinical features and the prognosis value in laryngeal squamous cell cancer.
METHOD:
Eighty-one paraffin-embedd specimens of patients who underwent surgery for laryngeal cancer were collected. Clinical data, including date of birth, gender, tumor subsite, tumor stage, RT, and survival status have been recorded. The samples including laryngeal cancer tissues and the safe incisal margin were analyzed for the expression of STC2 protein by immunohistochemical staining. We analyzed the correlations with STC2 expression level and clinical data with software SPSS 18. 0.
RESULT:
(1)fifty-six cases in 81 cases (69. 1 %) are positive. In 30 cases of the safe incisal margin tissues, STC2 is not expressed, which shows statistically significant differences between the two groups (P<0. 05). (2)Overexpression of STC2 in laryngeal cancer were correlated with the tumor clinical stage and N stage, T stage, tumor site location and histological grade (P<0. 05), but not with genderor age (P> 0. 05). (3)The result showed that the 3-year survival rate is 74. 1%, according to the survival analysis by STC2, STC2 positive group has poorer outcome versus the negative group. (4)The clinical stage displayed the independent value in predicting the tumor prognosis of laryngeal cancer (P<0. 05), not the expression level of STC2.
CONCLUSION
Overexpression of STC2 in laryngeal cancer patients is correlated with poor outcome, which means STC2 positive group has poorer prognosis than the STC2 negative group.
