Targeted therapy has gradually become the focus in the treatment of tumor, with the emerge of more and more targeted drugs which has brought the treatment of tumor into a new era. Imatinib, the tyrosine kinase inhibitor, is one of the important types of targeted therapy, has become the standard of care in adjuvant therapy of gastrointestinal stromal tumor(GIST) with extraordinary effects. However, the questions are still on debate incluing the optimal way to evaluate treatment results, the treatment duration, whether it can be intermitted or not, second line therapy for imatinib-intolerance or -resistance and the combination with surgery.

Objective To investigate the effect of selectively upward placement of acetabular implants on limb length and post?operative function of developmental dysplasia of the hip patients with shortened legs during total hip arthroplasty (THA). Methods Twenty?six cases of developmental dysplasia of the hip received THA between January 2008 and December 2013, in?cluding 12 cases of Crowe typeⅠ, 8 of Crowe typeⅡ, 6 of Crowe typeⅢ. There were 5 males and 21 females with an average age of 62.7 years (range, 36-80 years). The left hip was involved in 9 cases and the right hip in 17 cases. The preoperative mean Har?ris score was 42.30±12.84, and the preoperative mean WOMAC score was 59.08±13.84 at the last follow?up. The anteroposterior X?ray films and CT scan of the pelvis, anteroposterior and lateral X?ray films of the femur, and TraumaCad analysis were conducted routinely preoperation. More than 70%of the bone?implant interface was covered by appropriate upward distance of acetabular im?plant. Results The follow?up time ranged from 6 to 73 months (mean, 36 months). The Harris score improved to 91.18±7.09, and WOMAC score reduced to 9.85±3.75. According to postoperative measurement, affected limb had been lengthened by 0-5 mm in 8 cases, 6-10 mm in 5 cases, 11-15 mm in 5 cases,>15 mm in 7 cases, and shortening increased 1 mm in 1 case, but the average lengthening was 9.23±7.54 mm. The upward distance of acetabular implant was 0-5 mm in 10 cases, 6-10 mm in 7 cases and>10 mm in 9 cases. The average lengthening was 6.60±6.72 mm in patients having 0-5 mm upward distance, 11.90±5.64 mm in patients having 6-10 mm upward distance and 10.11 ± 9.35 mm in patients having>15 mm upward distance, showing no significant differ?ence. The leg length discrepancy was-3.70±6.43 mm in patients having 0-5 mm upward distance, 1.71±6.24 mm in patients having 6-10 mm upward distance and 0.56 ± 7.70 mm in patients having>15 mm upward distance, showing no significant difference. Con?clusion The limb length could be improved by selectively upward placement of acetabular implants in developmental dysplasia of the hip patients with anatomically abnormal acetabulum during THA, with reasonable preoperative design and corrective operation.

Objective To make comparisons of the three models of acute and chronic rheumatic carditis to find out an optimal animal model. Methods AntigenⅠwas a emulsifier mixed by complete freund’ s adjuvant( CFA) and Group A streptococcus(GAS).AntigenⅡwas mixed by incomplete freund’s adjuvant(IFA) and GAS.Female Lewis rats were randomly divided into four groups: A, B, C treatmeat groups were immuned with antigenⅠat the foot pad firstly. Subsequently, rats in group A、B、C were injected antigenⅠ, antigenⅡand activated GAS respectively to make the models of RHD.Rats in control group D were immunized with the same protocol outlined as treatment groups but without GAS. Respectively 7, 12, 24 weeks the rats were sacrificed 24 ( each group was 6).The blood biochemical item and Hematoxylin-eosin( HE) staining of hearts were detected. Results In group C the mortality was 25%.In group A, the incidence of carditis was the highest.Histopathological manifestations of group A, C was not only revealed acute damage such as inflammatory cell infiltrate as well as group B, but also the Aschofflike cells in the myocardial cells interstitial. But in group A and C there had a great degree of the inflammatory cells infiltration than group B.At 24th week rats in group A detected the rate and degree of valve fibrosis in chronic damage were higher than group B and C.None of rats in group D presented carditis or valvulitis. Conclusion In group A, giving the GAS with continuous stimulation after using the mixed emulsification of CFA and GAS to immune Lewis rats for five times was a appropriate method which could provide an optimal animal model for experimental study of acute and chronic rheumatic heart disease.

Journal of Practical Stomatology 2016;32(6):857-860
Objective:To study the occlusion characteristics of the young subjects with bruxism before and after treatment by elastic occlusal splint. Methods:10 patients with bruxism and aged 22-27 years(n=10) were treated by elastic occlusal splint, before and 6 months after treatment they were examined by T-Scan occlusion detector. The occlusion time( OT) , disclusion time( DT) , oc-clusion force( OF) , the perentage of occlusion force( POF) , the changes of the position of center occlusal force( COF) and the asym-metry index of occlusion force(AOF) were observed and compared with those of the healthy controls(n=10). Results: ① In the case group there was significant difference in the OT and DT between left and right anterior teeth before treatment (P<0. 05), but not after treatment (P>0. 05). There was significant difference in the momevent of COF of left and right side, the POF of right side and the AOF between the 2 groups before treatment, but not after the treatment(P>0. 05). ② In the case group after treatment the OT and DT of left and right anterior teeth were shortened(P<0. 05). The POF of right side and the AOF were significantly improved. In the case group DT, OF center excursion, the left POF and the AOF showed no significant difference before and after treatment( P>0. 05). Conclusion:The occlusal factors such as early contact, lateral teeth synthetic interference, occlusal force center excursion have close relationship with bruxism. Elastic occlusal splint can effectively correct muscle dysfunction and make occlusal relationship more coordinated and stable, and therefore is effective in the treatment of bruxism.

Objective: To explore the expression of myocardial levels of connexin 43(Cx43), Cx40 in experimental dog model of sympathomimetic atrial fibrillation (AF). Methods: 15 mongrels dogs were randomly divided into 3 groups: Control group, Rapid atrium pacing (RAP) group and RAP+isoprenaline (ISO) perfusion group. n=5 in each group. The hearts were taken to establish in vitro langendorff cardiac perfusion model. Atrial effective refractory period (AERP) and AF inducing rate were tested;intracellular expression and distribution of nerve growth factor (NGF) and tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) were examined by immunohistochemistry, total protein contents of Cx43 and Cx40 were measured by Western blot analysis, mitochondria morphology was observed by transmission electron microscope and mitochondria reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation was detected by fluorescent colorimetric method. Results: AERP was similar between Control group and RAP group (166±5.1) ms vs (160±3.2) ms which cannot induce AF; while it was shortened in RAP+ISO group (148±3.7) ms, P<0.05 which may successfully induce AF.Compared with Control group, mitochondria was slightly swollen in RAP group and the matrix was intact, while mitochondria was obviously swollen in RAP+ISO group and part of matrix was transparent; total protein contents of Cx43 and Cx40 were lower in both RAP group and RAP+ISO group, P<0.05; in addition, they were even lower in RAP+ISO group than RAP group, P<0.05. Compared with Control group and RAP group, RAP+ISO group had increased expression and distribution of NGF, TH and mitochondria ROS generation, P<0.05; NGF, TH and ROS in RAP group were higher than Control group, P<0.05. Conclusion: Sympathetic AF has been related to the contents and changes of myocardial levels of CX43 and Cx40; sympathetic nerve might trigger AF by oxidative stress induced down-regulation of myocardial CX43 and Cx40 in experimental dog model.
