Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2010;16(4):393-394
ObjectiveTo observe the effect of comprehensive rehabilitation on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).Methods10 patients with COPD received COPD training program. Relapse and ability of life were assessed 6 months after intervention.ResultsRe-admission and stay in hospital were 2-5 times and averaged 15 days respectively before intervention while re-admission and stay in hospital were 1-3 times and averaged 9 days respectively after intervention. Ability of life showed self-care, 0 case; partly self-care, 2 cases; no self-care, 8 cases before intervention while self-care, 5 case; partly self-care, 1 case; no self-care, 4 cases.ConclusionComprehensive rehabilitation can improve the quality of life of patients with COPD.

Journal of International Oncology 2011;38(10):735-737
Activating transcription factor 4 ( ATF4),one of the activating transcription factors, belongs to the cyclic AMP response element binding protein family. The expression of ATF4 is up-regulated by tumor micro-environmental factors. And ATF4 regulates the processes of tumor growth, infiltration, metastasis, apoptosis and drug resistance.Therefore,ATF4 might serve as a potential therapeutic target in cancer.

Objective To study pharmacological mechanism of Sanshanxiao granules in treating diabetes. Methods The rat model of diabetes was set up by injecting STZ intraabdominally. The modeled diabetic animals were divided into model group, Sanshanxiao group, and Xiaokewan control group. Normal rats were devised as blank-contrasted group. It was observed through several aspects on the level of blood sugar and insulin, activity changes of SOD in serum, contents of MDA and changes of islets of pancreas morphologic contrastly. Results Sanshanxiao granules can reduce blood sugar, stimulate insulin secreted, develop activity of SOD and decrease the contents of MDA obviously (P

The incidence of pediatric adenoid hypertrophy increases year by year. However, the treatment methods are limited. By now TCM treatment has showed significant clinical efficacy in treating pediatric adenoid hypertrophy. And phlegm could be one of the main pathogenic factors. By collecting relevant literature about TCM treatment for pediatric adenoid hypertrophy, this article summarized the thoughts of treating from phlegm based on the collection and analysis of classification of syndrome and treatment methods guided by the thoughts of treating from phlegm.

Objective To develop the clinical application of tandem mass spectrometry in earlystage diagnosis of patients with growth retardation. Methods Tandem mass spectrometry was used to quantitatively detect blood amino acids and acyl carnitine in 155 cases of children with growth retardation. The tandem mass spectrometry results, clinical symptoms, and treatment tracking results were analyzed. Results Ten patients with inborn metabolic absence of amino acids and acyl carnitine were confirmed including four cases of methylmalonic acidemia, one case of propionic acidemia, one case of medium-chain acyl-coenzyme A dehydrogenase deficiency, one case of ornithine transcarbamylase deficiency, and three cases of phenylketonuria. Conclusions Tandem mass spectrometry was helpful for some patients in etiologic diagnosis and therapeutic effect assessment of cerebral developmental retardation.

Objective:To evaluate the molecular diagnosis marker of papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC),the relationship between lymphatic metastasis of central neck compartment PTC,and the opera-tion indication of prophylactic central neck dissection. Methods:We conducted a retrospective study, including 275 PTC patients and detected their BRAF mutation rates during 201 2 and 201 4 and explored the risk factors of the central node lymphatic metastasis by Logistic regression model. Results:Of the 275 PTC patients,224 (81 .5%)were female and 51 (1 8.5%)were male.BRAF mutational rates were 53.8% (1 48 /275)and lymphatic metastasis 57.8% (1 59 /275).Multivariate analysis showed calcifica-tion (ORadjusted =1 .47,95%CI:1 .1 0 -1 .98,P =0.01 ),tumor diameter (ORadjusted =1 .48,95%CI:1 .04 -2.30,P =0.048)and age (ORadjusted =1 .48,95%CI:1 .04 -2.30,P =0.048)were associa-ted with lymphatic metastasis. In stratified analysis,BRAF mutation (ORadjusted =3.1 9,95%CI:1 .1 8 -9.43,P =0.023 )in clear boarder group and BRAF mutation (ORadjusted =4.84,95% CI:1 .68 -1 3.84,P =0.003)in calcification group were more likely to have lymphatic metastases. Conclusion:Central neck metastasis takes up a high ratio in papillary thyroid cancer patients,BRAF mutation in pa-pillary thyroid carcinoma is a characteristic molecular event.Furthermore, patients with calcification un-der ultrasound detection, lower age group and longer tumor diameter are more susceptible to suffer central neck metastasis.Especially for stratified analysis,non-calcified BRAF mutation or BRAF mutation with clear border under ultrasound detection are more susceptible to suffer central neck metastasis, and radical prophylactic central neck dissection should be carried on for these patients.

Objective To investigate the preventive effect of oral ulcer using two methods in radio-therapeutic patients after tongue squamous cell carcinoma operation. Methods Thirty-six radiotherapeutic patients after tongue squamous cell carcinoma operation were collected from May 2012 to May 2014 and divided into control group and treatment group according to the random number table method. Regular oral nursing was administered to control group, treatment group were received regular therapy plus orally vitamin B and cetylpyridinium chloride gargle for gargling, and then evaluated the efficacy according related standards. Results Less oral ulcer (1/18 vs.7/18,χ2=-2.372,P<0.05), better oral lustration (Z=-2.093,P<0.05) and overall oral nursing effect (Z=-2.166,P<0.05) were observed in treatment group compared to control group after 7 days of therapy, however, treatment group presented no significantly better comfort level at the same time (Z=-1.708,P>0.05). Conclusions Regular therapy plus orally vitamin B and cetylpyridinium chloride gargle for gargling are effective for the prevention of oral ulcer in radiotherapeutic patients after tongue squamous cell carcinoma operation.

Objective: To examine whether there are differences between dependent and independent individual’s shame and sad memories. Methods: Self -report measures were used. Results: ① There were significant interactions between emotion and cognitive style of the number of words recalled, number of times that others were mentioned. ②Field dependent individuals mention more emotional behaviors and presence of others. ③The subjects mentioned more emotion words and time in sad memories. ④In shame memories, there were less self-references than others-references, marginally less self in thinking than self in other descriptions. ⑤In sad memories, field dependent individuals reported less selfreferences than others-references, and less self in thinking than self in other descriptions. ⑥There were more emotional behaviors and self-thinking in sad memories than in shame memories. Conclusion: Field dependent and independent individuals demonstrate differences in emotional memory, and the difference is emotion specificity.

Objective:To investigatethe transdermal delivery characteristics of methylphenidate hydrochloride (MPH) in vitro. Methods: Characteristics of MPH crossing nude rats skin were studied with Franz diffusion cells. A high performance liquid chromatographic (HPLC) method was established to determine the concentration of MPH crossed the skin. The permeability coefficient (P), steady state flux (J) and lag time(LT) for MPH through the skin of nude rats treated with various enhancers were compared with those of control. Results: The permeability coefficient increased with the increase of MPH concentration. The penetration of MPH through nude rats skin was obviously enhanced by 8%Azone and 5%propylene glycol (P
