Objective To compare the differences of infect rates and genotype distribution of 21 kinds of human papillomavir-us (HPV)in women cervical cells in Quanzhou and Wuhan regions. Methods Collected gynecological clinic of 10 068 women in cervical cell specimens from November 2012 to January 2014 in Affiliated Quanzhou First Hospital of Fujian Med-ical University and Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University,of which 6 823 cases in Quanzhou,Wuhan region 3 245 cases were detected to identify HPV genotypes by using nucleic acid hybridization technique(HybriMax). Results 2 439 in 10 068 samples of cervical cells were detected to be infected HPV with overall infection rate of 24.23%(2 439/10 068).The overall HPV infection rate in Quanzhou was 22.61% (1 543/6 823),and 27.61% (896/3 245)in Wuhan. The single HPV infection rate in Quanzhou was 17.28% (1 179/6 823),and 19.88% (645/3 245)in Wuhan. The multiple HPV infection rate in Quanzhou was 5.33% (364/6 823),and 7.73% (251/3 245)in Wuhan (The values of P<0.05).The five most common HPV genetypes in Quanzhou was HPV-16,HPV-52,HPV-58,HPV-11 and HPV-CP8304,respectively,in Wuhan was HPV-16,HPV-52,HPV-58,HPV-33 and HPV-18,respectively.Conclusion The overall, single and multiple HPV infection rates in Wuhan were all markedly higher than those in Quanzhou (the values of P<0.05).The most common HPV gene-types in two regions were different.

Objective To detect the expression of advanced glycation end-products (AGEs) in the sun exposure and non-exposure skin,to observe the elastic protein in the same location, and to explore the relationship between non-enzymatic glycation reactions and,photo-aging skin morphological changes. Methods In the exposure and non-exposure specimens from 30 patients, elastic fibers were stained with Gomori staining, and immunohistochemistry for AGEs was performed. Results AGEs expressed clearly positive in all elastic fibers of degeneration markedly (+ + above) of exposure skin, and appeared line-like in markedly(+ + above)elastic fibers. While in all non-exposure skin,AGEs expressed negative. In the exposure skin with middle or old age, compared with non-exposure skin,AGEs expressed more and elastic fibers were hyperplasia with thickening, curling and irregular distribution. The skin parts of AGEs expressed accorded with where elastic fibers degenerated. Conclusions Ultraviolet radiation can induce denaturation of elastic fibers and non-enzymatic glycation may contribute to the mechanism of skin photo-aging.

Objective To establish an automatic warning program which accommodates to the test procedures in medical laboratory centerand and to put into operation. Methods Based on laboratory information management system (LIS),automatic warning program was established, which composed of maintenance of warning rules, feedback of vulnerabilities in rules, solutions of feedback targets and evaluation of ride-effectiveness.The results of performance were assessed after operation for six months in Guangzhou Kingmed Medical Laboratory Center. Results An automatic warning program containing 13 kinds of rule templates was successfully established. The multi-point warning program via asynchronous structure for six specialized testing procedures was realized.A total of 1 523 warning rules were included in the rule bank and 24 000 reports were verified on average each day.The average passing rate of reports was 70.2% and the passing rate of single test was 83.9%.The approval time for reports was reduced by 10 to 40 minutes compared with that without using the automatic warning program. The efficiency for report approval was improved by 25 percent. Conclusion Automatic warning program may ensure the high quality of test reports, ease pressure on staff and improve work efficiency.

Objective To investigate the antimicrobial susceptibility of clinical isolates of Corynebacterium striatum and the clinical characteristics of the patients infected or colonized with these strains. Methods The C.striatum strains isolated from clinical specimens were collected in Quanzhou First Hospital Affiliated to Fujian Medical University from July 2020 to September 2022.The clinical data were analyzed to examine the clinical characteristics of patients with C.striatum colonization or infection. The susceptibility of these strains to 18 antimicrobial agents were tested by broth microdilution method. The gyrA gene related to quinolone resistance determining region was amplified and sequenced to analyze the position of amino acid mutations. The ribosomal methylase gene ermX and aminoglycoside enzyme gene aphA1 were amplified by PCR and sequenced. Results Antimicrobial susceptibility testing indicated that all of the 72 strains were susceptible to vancomycin, linezolid and daptomycin. All stains were resistant to ceftriaxone, ciprofloxacin and moxifloxacin. The C.striatum strains showed high resistance rate to penicillin(87.5%),cefepime(95.8%),meropenem(95.8%),trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole(90.3%),erythromycin(98.6%)and clindamycin(98.6%),but relatively lower resistance rate to gentamycin(25.0%),tetracycline(30.6%)and rifampicin(23.6%).Sequencing analysis indicated that 3 strains of C.striatum had single mutation of gyrA gene(Ser87Val),67 strains had double mutations(Ser87Phe,Asp91Ala or Ser87Tyr,Asp91Ala)and 2 strains had three point mutations(Ser87Phe,Ala88Pro and Asp91 Ala),which was newly identified in this study. The ermXgene was detected in all of the isolates and the prevalence of aphA1 gene was 43.1%.The 72 strains of C.striatum were mainly isolated from ICU(65.2%)and lower respiratory tract specimen(91.6%).The average age of patients was 68.0±15.3 years old.About 72.2%(52/72)of the C.striatum strains were isolated from the patients with infection and 27.8%(20/72)were colonizers.Compared to the patients colonized with C.striatum, the patients with C.striatum infection had statistically significant higher percentages of hospital stay ≥ 28 days, cerebral hemorrhage, disturbance of consciousness and disease deterioration(P<0.05).Conclusions All of the 72 C.striatum isolates were multidrug resistant, and the outcome of patients with C.striatum infection was relatively poor.
