Objective To evaluate the effects of pingangmycin and dexamethasonum injected synchronously in the treatment of hemangioma in maxillofacial regions. Methods A total of 83 patients with hemangioma in maxillofacial regions between September 1996 and March 2004 were reviewed. The age of the patients was from 3 months to 50 years old. The sizes of the lesions varied from 1cm?1cm to 6cm?9cm. Injection should be accorded to size of the tumor, local appearance and patients' age. Injection might be repeated in every 5~10 days, totally 4~6 times. Results All cases were followed up from 8 to 36 months. The recovery rate was 95.18%, and the total effective rate was 100%. Conclusion This method is a simple, safe and effective therapy of hemangioma in maxillofacial regions.

Objective To establish a rapid modified Local lymph node assay ( LLNA) for the sensitization and irritancy potential of chemicals, and evaluate cosmetics products. Methods 3 kinds of chemicals ( 2 , 4-Dinitrochlorobenzene ( DNCB) , Eugenol and Hexyl cinnamic aldehyde) and 3 kinds of cosmetics were selected.The dorsal sides of both ears of female BALB/c mice were treated with 25μL/ear of the test solutions on 3 consecutive days, and the thickness of each ear was measured.BrdU solution was injected inter-peritoneally on day 5.On day 6, each auricle was weighed, the bilateral draining auricular lymph nodes were excised and weighed, then made into single cell suspension.BrdU was measured by ELISA using a commercial kit.Results Ear swelling and auricle weight of DNCB ( 1.0%) , Eugenol ( 25% and 50%) and number 3 cream foundation increased significantly ( P <0.05 or P <0.01), which may be considered as irritants.The others were negative.For LLNA, three chemicals and number 3 cream foundation pretended positive.Conclusion The combined LLNA/ear swelling/ear weight assay appears to be a reliable predictor of sensitization and irritancy potential, and is expected to play an important role in safety evaluation of cosmetics.

Objective To introduce and evaluate an improved technique of vertical mammaplasty for correction of severe breast ptosis. Methods Vertical mammaplasty that was first reported by Ma-deleine Lejour in Brussels is a technique that uses adjustable markings, an upper pedicle for the areola, and a central breast reduction with lower skin undermining. To shorten vertical scar, it was important to locate new nipple position and move up new inframammary fold. The shape of the breast was crea-ted by suturing the gland and did not rely on the skin. No scar was produced in submammary fold. Re-sults 36 cases were treated with vertical mammaplasty in our department since August 1999. The shape of the new breast was satisfactory in all patients after 3-24 months following-up. Areora necro-sis was not found in all the cases. Conclusion The vertical mammaplasty is an optical technique for correction of severe breast ptosis, Stable results are produced because the gland is strongly sutured.

Objective To explore the mechanism of icariin mediating migration of mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) in rat bone marrow. Methods MSC proliferation was detected by CCK-8 test. Cell apoptosis was examined with Hoechst33342 staining after the establishment of cellular oxygen and glucose deprivation model. The protein expressions of CXCR4, the receptor of SDF-1, in the surface of MSC after stimulated by icariin were detected through Western blot. The migration of MSC was observed by Transwell chemotaxis assay. Results 0.01μmol/L, 0.1μmol/L and 1μmol/L of icariin could significantly promote the proliferation of MSC, while 10μmol/L of icariin inhibited the proliferation of MSC. After treatment of oxygen and glucose deprivation in vitro, 0.1μmol/L and 1μmol/L of icariin could inhibit the apoptosis of MSC. Icariin could not only improve the expression of CXCR4 in MSC, but also increase the number of transmembrane migrated MSC. After the addition of CXCR4 antagonist AMD3100, there was no significant difference in the number of cell migration among the different groups. Conclusion Icariin with appropriate concentration can promote the proliferation, survival and migration of MSC. SDF-1/CXCR4 signaling pathway is involved in the regulation of MSC migration by icariin.

This study was designed to evaluate the effect of Bazhen decoction on bone marrow depression induced by cyclophosphamide (CY) in mice. An experimental model of mouse bone marrow injury was established through cyclophosphamide induced and the following phenomena were observed. The techniques of culture of hematopoietic progenitor cell and hematopoietic growth factor assay were used. Bazhen decoction could obviously promote the proliferation of bone marrow cells of anaemic mice. The culture media of spleen cell, macrophage, lung and skeletal muscle treated with Bazhen decoction had much stronger stimulating effects on hematopoietic cells. The bone marrow cells of the anaemic mice could yield TNF through Bazhen decoction treatment. It was suggested that Bazhen decoction is clinically a hopeful drug used to cure bone marrow depression and attenuate the side effects of CY.

Objective To investigate the interaciton of automatic thoughts and stress factors related depression in fe-male patients with first-episode depressive disorder. Methods The 60 female patients with first-episode depression were enrolled and assessed by Hamilton Depression Rating Scale(HAMD),Hamilton anxiety scale(HAMA),Automatic thought questionnaire (ATQ), Dysfunctional attitude scale (DAS),ways of coping, the social support scale and Y-G Personality Questionnaire. Spearman correlation analysis and path analysis were used to analyse the interaciton of auto-matic thoughts and stress factors related depression. Results ①Automatic thoughts, depression,anxiety and dysfunc-tional cognition were positively correlated each other. Automatic thoughts and vulnerability, attraction and repulsion ,perfection and autonomy attitude were positively correlated (P<0.05 or P<0.01). ②Automatic thinking and feeling of inferiority, nervosity, lack of objectivity and non cooperative were positively correlated,while dominant, social in-side and outside were negatively correlated. The differences were statistically significant(P<0.05 or P< 0.01). ③Au-tomatic thoughts and blame, rationalization were positively correlated, while automatic thoughts, total score of social support and subjective support were negatively correlated. ④Path analysis showed that automatic thoughts predicted depression directly; nervosity, the perfection, blame, anxiety predicted depression indirectly through the automatic thoughts; subjective support acted on automatic thinking as negatively predicator, and predicted depression indirectly through the automatic thoughts (P<0.05 or P<0.01). Conclusion Interaction existed among automatic thoughts and stress factors of depression related. When making the psychological treatment of depression,we should be considered these factors.

We constructed the AFP promotor, suicide gene and EGFP eukaryotic expression vector recombinant plasmid, and this plasmid DNA was encapsulated by biodegradable, biocompatible polymer PLGA to prepare nanoparticles. The results demonstrate that the mean diameter of DNA-PLGA-NP is 68 nm, the encapsulation ratio reaches to 80%, and the PLGA nanoparticles can protect plasmid DNA from digestion by deoxyribonuclease I (DNaseI) and sonication-induced shearing in vitro.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the impact of dynamic change of waist circumference or body mass index (BMI) on type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) populations in a cohort study.

METHODSWe not only obtained the baseline survey data from program 'Prevention of Multiple Metabolic Disorders and metabolic syndrome (MS) in Jiangsu Province'(PMMJS) which started in 1994, and we conducted twice follow-ups from January 2002 to August 2003, and March 2006 to November 2007. After excluding subjects who were found to have T2DM at baseline, cardiovascular disease(CVD), and BMI<18.5 kg/m(2) , and loss to follow up because of relocation, death or other reasons, a total of 3 461 subjects were included in this analysis. They received investigation including questionnaires investigation, measurement and laboratory examination. The differences of gender, smoking, alcohol drinking and T2DM family history in different groups were examined using χ(2)-test, median and inter-quartile range were calculated for TG, and they were examined by rank test. Four equal parts of the differences of waist circumference and BMI were carried out in the COX regression model, to investigate the association between 2 years change of waist circumference or BMI and incidence of T2DM. We also examined the association between BMI and waist circumference modification and incident risk of T2DM in subjects with normal baseline BMI, baseline obese subjects, subjects with normal baseline waist circumference and baseline abdominal obese subjects.

RESULTSA total of 3 461 participants (1 406 males, 2 055 females) were investigated, including 160 new T2DM cases (60 males, 100 females) who were from between baseline and the second following up. The accumulative incidence was 4.6% (60/3 461). Multivariate COX regression model analysis results showed that the T2DM risk was relatively high in the highest quartile of waist circumference D-value group(HR=2.06, 95% CI: 1.27-3.16), the T2DM risk was also high in the highest quartile of BMI D-value group (HR=1.30, 95% CI: 0.86-1.95). In subjects with abdominal obesity and normal waist circumference at baseline, the incidence rate of T2DM in non-control group was 7.1% (40/565) , 6.3% (45/645), higher than that in control group (3.4%(71/2 096), 4.5%(4/155)) (χ(2) values were 3.98 and 15.18, P values were 0.043 and <0.001). In subjects with normal waist circumference, T2DM risk was higher in non-control group than that in control group (HR=2.12, 95% CI: 1.40-3.22). In abdominal obese subjects, T2DM risk was also higher in non-control group than that in control group (HR=1.14, 95% CI: 1.04-1.92). If waist circumference was not controlled, T2DM risk was high, no matter BMI controlled or not (HR(95% CI) were 1.73(1.17-2.54), 2.45(1.63-3.69) respectively).

CONCLUSIONControlling the waistline could reduce the risk of diabetes, and once waist circumference was not controlled, T2DM risk would be increased no matter BMI was controlled or not.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the combined effects of alcohol consumption and obesity hypertension risk.

METHODSBased on data from program "Prevention of multiple metabolic disorders and metabolic syndrome in Jiangsu province", Baseline data were obtained in April 1999 to Jun 2004, we conducted the follow up investigation from March 2006 to October 2007 for subjects, those follow up time meet 5 years. A total of 4 083 participants completed the follow-up survey, and 2 778 eligible participants for final analysis. In the baseline and follow up survey, participants returned a completed questionnaire with information on diet, education, occupation, lifestyle factors, and medical history. Data on demographic characteristics, physical examination and laboratory tests were also obtained. Cox proportional hazards regression model was used to investigate the association between body mass index (BMI), waist circumference (WC) and waist to height ratio (WHtR). Logistic regression model was used to examine the interaction of alcohol consumption with WC, BMI and WHtR on risk of hypertension and the relative excess risk due to interaction (RERI), the attributable proportion due to interaction (AP), and the synergy index (SI) were calculated. If the 95% CI of SI do not include 1, the 95% CI of RERI and AP do not include 0, the interactions are statistically significant.

RESULTSIn the study subjects, 660 patients (254 males and 406 females) were new cases, who developed hypertension by the follow-up investigation. The mean of WC, BMI and WHtR were (23.3 ± 3.2) kg/m(2), (77.7 ± 9.0) cm and 0.49 ± 0.06, were higher than that in normal subjects ((22.4 ± 3.0) kg/m², (74.8 ± 8.5) cm and 0.47 ± 0.05, all P values < 0.001). After adjustment for age, sex, smoking status, family history of hypertension, the hazard ratio of EH for participants with obesity, high WC, high WHtR and alcohol consumption were higher, the HR (95% CI) were 2.12 (1.46-3.10), 1.64 (1.32-2.03), 2.80 (1.73-4.59) and 1.65 (1.29-2.12). HR (95% CI) of subjects with both abnormal BMI and current alcohol consumption was 2.76 (2.45-3.17), SI (95% CI) was 1.60 (0.48-5.28), RERI(95%CI) was 0.66 (-0.47-1.79) and AP was 0.24 (-0.22-0.69), HR (95% CI) of subjects with both high WC and current alcohol consumption was 4.93 (2.87-8.49), SI(95% CI) was 4.49(1.97-10.22), RERI (95%CI) was 3.06 (0.48-5.64) and AP(95% CI) was 0.62 (0.41-0.83), HR (95% CI) of subjects with both high WHtR and current alcohol consumption was 2.80 (1.73-4.59), SI (95% CI) was 2.14 (0.88-5.17), RERI was 0.96 (0.48-5.64) and AP (95% CI) was 0.34 (0.03-0.68).

CONCLUSIONBoth obesity, high WC, high WHtR, and alcohol consumption were strong risk factors of EH, and impact of an additive interaction of alcohol consumption and high WC on EH risk existed.

Objective To explore the clinical characteristics and related background diseases of type 1 gastric neuroendocrine tumor (g-NET) and to provide reference information for clinical diagnosis and treatment.Methods From Januayy 2011 to February 2019,at the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University and China-Japan Friendship Hospital,the clinical features and related background diseases of type 1 g-NET patients (41 cases and 93 cases respectively)were retrospectively analyzed.The clinical symptoms,serological indicators,gastroscopic and pathological features,tumor location,metastasis and treatment,and concomitant diseases were statistically described.Results Among 134 patients with type 1 g-NET,there were 53 males (39.6％) and 81 females (60.4 ％);and the mean diagnosed age was (51 ± 11) years (21 to 76 years).Main clinical manifestations were non-specific gastrointestinal symptoms.The mean level of serum chromogranin A was (237.7 ± 176.8) μg/L.The endoscopic findings of 97.8％ (131/134) of the patients were polypoid or protuberant lesions at gastric fundus or gastric body.And 75.0％ (96/128) of the patients had multiple tumors.65.7％ (88/134) of the patients had the tumors with the maximum diameter less than 1 cm (77.2％,88/114) and the lesions mainly located in mucosa (59.8％,52/87) and submucosa (40.2％,35/87).The pathological classification of 79.3％ (96/121) of the tumors was G1 grade and 20.7％ (25/121) were G2 grade.The rate of local lymph node metastasis was 1.4％ (1/73) and no distant metastasis was found.About 70.9％ (95/134) of the patients received endoscopic treatment.Among the patients,93.6％ (103/110) of the patients had chronic atrophic gastritis confirmed by endoscopy or pathology,45.6％ (47/103) were confirmed by both endoscopy and pathology.Among the patients with chronic atrophy gastritis,serum gastrin levels of 93.2％ (96/103) patients were twice higher than the upper limit of the normal value.The positive rates of antiparietal cells antibody (PCA) and intrinsic factor (IFA) were 78.5％ (73/93) and 51.9％ (14/27),respectively.The incidence of Helicobacter pylori (H.pylori) infection was 28.1％ (16/57).The incidence of autoimmune atrophy gastritis was 80.6％ (75/93).The percentage of patients with deficiency of serum vitamin B12 and ferritin was 70.8％ (63/89) and 30.7％ (27/88),respectively.Patients with anemia accounted for 27.8％ (25/90).The patients with microcytic anemia,normocyticanemia and macrocytic anemia were 28.0％ (7/25),56.0％ (14/25) and 16.0％ (4/25),respectively.46.9％ (45/96) of the patients had increased thyroid autoantibodies and 17.9％ (17/95) patients had changes of thyroid hormone level.Conclusions Type 1 g-NET is more common in women and mainly caused by autoimmune atrophic gastritis.The level of serum PCA and IFA increase in more than half of the patients.And it is often accompanied by vitamin B12 deficiency and autoimmune thyroid disease.
