Objective To observe the effect of Shoutaiwan on improving clinical pregnancy rate of in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer (IVF-ET). Method Eighty people, who were easy to be followed up and pregnant with the assistant of IVF-ET by the tube-baby centre of Shenzhen Urology Surgical Hospital of Zhongshan Medical University from 2001 to 2003, were divided into two groups randomly with 40 people for each. Treatment group, after embryo transfer, were normally injected progesterone and auxiliary treated of traditional Chinese Medicine according to syndrome differentiation. The comparing group were only injected progesterone. The curative effect was observed and compared. Result In 40 cases of treatment group, 23 cases were pregnant, clinical pregnant rate was 57.5%, the average level of progesterone was (22.45?1.31)?g/L, pregnant abortion rate was 13.0%. In 40 cases of comparing group, 12 cases were pregnant, clinical pregnant rate was 30.0%, the average level of progesterone was (10.18?0.89)?g/L, pregnant abortion rate was 25%. There were significant differences in the clinical pregnant statistical rate, the average level of progesterone and pregnant abortion rate between the two groups. Conclusion It’s more effective that the syndrome differentiation method based on Shoutaiwan than progesterone treatment only in improving clinical pregnant rate and reducing pregnant abortion rate of IVF-ET.

0.05).The operation was failed in 2 cases due to the displacement of the renal tube(re-puncture was performed) or massive hemorrhage from torn renal calices(the procedure was terminated, and the bleeding was controlled by compression and hemostat). One patient developed acute pulmonary edema after the operation and was cured by diuretic;4 cases showed postoperative fever;no serious complications occurred in this series. The stone-free rate in one session was 89.1%(49/55).The residual calculi were all cleared by a second operation combined with extracorporeal shock-wave lithotripsy. The patients were followed up for 3 to 12 months(mean,6 months),during which no recurrent case was found.ConclusionUreteroscopy is safe and effective for establishing renal channel in minimally invasive percutaneous nephrolithotomy.

Objective To determine the changes in event-related potentials (ERPs) and examine the relationship between memory, consciousness and ERPs during propofol sedation and anesthesia. Methods Ten young healthy volunteers were enrolled in this study. Baseline values of ERPs, noninvasive BP (NBP), ECG and SpO2 were recorded before induction of sedation and anesthesia. The level of sedation was assessed using OAA/S scale. Sedation and anesthesia were induced and maintained with target-controlled infusion (TCI) of propofol. The amplitude, peak value and latency of the potential N1 and P3, NBP ECG and SpO2 were recorded at each level of sedation and anesthesia. A list of words was played via headphone at OAA/S score of 3 or 2. Memory test was performed 4hr after the recovery from anesthesia. Target and distractor hits in inclusion and exclusion test were obtained and explicit and implicit memory scores were calculated. Results (1) At OAA/S score of 3 the amplitude of N1 was attenuated and that of P3 suppressed ( P

Objective:To investigate the clinical effects of deanxit in the treatment of post-stroke depression and anxiety.Method:65 stroke patients with depressive and anxious disorder were randomly divided into two groups which were treated with deanxit(as deanxit group) and without deanxit(as controlled group) respectively.SDS and SAS scales were used to evaluate the changes of clinical symptoms.Result:The scores of SDS and SAS scales in the deanxit group after 2 weeks'treatment were 36.37?7.07 and 32.91?5.28,which were significantly lower than those of the controlled group (P

Objective: To study the effects of different origins, collection and processing methods on the quality of Taraxacum mongolicum. Methods:The HPLC fingerprints of Taraxacum mongolicum were established. Totally 11 batches of Taraxacum mongoli-cum were analyzed by similarity evaluation and cluster analysis. Results:According to the results of HPLC, 11 batches of Taraxacum mongolicum had good baseline separation and showed 5 common peaks. Based on the established HPLC method, the quality of different batches of Taraxacum mongolicum showed difference according to the results of similarity evaluation and cluster analysis. The quality of batch 121231-1 was the best. Conclusion:The origin, collection and processing method show notable influence on the quality of Ta-raxacum mongolicum, and the comprehensive score method can be applied in the quality evaluation of Chinese herbs.

BACKGROUND:Our previous studies have shown that strontium-doped calcium polyphosphate containing low-dose strontium appears to have a significant effect on angiogenesis-related behaviors of monocultured umbilical vein endothelial cells and osteoblasts.
OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effect of strontium-doped calcium polyphosphate on angiogenesis-related behaviors of umbilical vein endothelial cells and osteoblasts co-cultured, including celladhesion, spreading, proliferation, as wel as the protein secretion of vascular endothelial growth factor and basic fibroblast growth factor from co-culture system in vitro.
METHODS:Human umbilical vein endothelial cells and osteoblastic cells (MG63) were utilized in this study. cells from passage 3 were used for preparation of the cel-scaffold constructs. After placed in 24-wel plate at a ratio of 2:1, human umbilical vein endothelial cells and MG63 cells were seeded onto strontium-doped calcium
polyphosphate, calcium polyphosphate and hydroxyapatite scaffolds and co-cultured for 7 days. The vascular endothelial growth factor and basic fibroblast growth factor protein levels were determined through a double ligand enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The colorimetric 3-[4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl]-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide assay was performed to quantify the effect of scaffolds on cellproliferation.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Compared with those on calcium polyphosphate and hydroxyapatite scaffolds, cells on strontium-doped calcium polyphosphate scaffolds attached and spread better with a significantly improved cellproliferation. More importantly, the vascular endothelial growth factor and basic fibroblast growth factor expressions were significantly higher in the strontium-doped calcium polyphosphate group than the other two groups (P<0.05), indicating strontium-doped calcium polyphosphate can up-regulate levels of vascular endothelial growth factor and basic fibroblast growth factor proteins.

Objective To study the values of quantitative parameters of DCE-MRI in diagnosis of benign and malignant liver tumors and to explore its diagnostic efficacy. Methods Consecutive 25 patients with benign or malignant liver tumors underwent plain scanning and dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI,and total 28 lesions were confirmed by pathology or follow-up.The DCE-MRI quantitative parameters (Ktrans ,Kep ,Ve and iAUC)of the lesions and the surrounding normal liver tissue were acquired. The inde-pendent sample t test was used to compare the quantitative parameters between different tumors. The optimal parameters values of benign and malignant liver tumors were determined by plotting ROC curves. Results The mean quantitative parameters of HCC and benign lesions were larger than those of the surrounding normal liver tissue.Ktrans ,Kep and iAUC between HCC and surrounding nor-mal liver tissue had significant differences (P <0.05),Ktrans and iAUC between benign lesions and surrounding normal liver tissue had a significant difference (P <0.05).Ktrans ,Kep and iAUC between HCC and benign lesions had significant differences (P <0.05). The diagnostic effectiveness of Ktrans = 0.21 5 min-1 ,with sensitivity of 81.3% and specificity of 66.7%,was greater than that of Kep =0.477 and iAUC=24.706.Conclusion The DCE-MRI quantitative analysis can provide a reference for the differential diagnosis of HCC from benign liver tumors.
