Orthopedic Journal of China 2006;0(16):-
Although the development of diagnosis and treatment about degenerative scoliosis has improved significantly,it still remains controversial about how to select appropriate surgical methods. The goal of this review is to raise awareness and stimulate attention on the correlation between clinical manifestation and spinal deformity, which is one of the key factors to affect the surgical outcomes on the opinion of more and more researchers in the past 20 years. When an adult spinal deformity is not the source of symptoms and the clinical symptom is outside of curve, symptomatic relief may be provided through limited decompression. If thoroughly decompression,it will be enough to combine with short segment fixation. However, while an adult deformity is the source of symptoms and the clinical symptoms is within the curve, the options are typically limited decompression on the basis of good stability, otherwise,it will be the only consideration of decompression combined with long segment fixation.

Objective To investigate the effect of 12-lipoxygenase(12-LOX) inhibitor inducing the apoptosis of human hepatocellular carcinoma cell line HepG2 on the expression of survivin gene. Methods HepG2 cells were cultivated in RPMI-1640 medium.12-LOX mRNA was analyzed by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR).The effect of baicalein on the proliferation of the cells was detected by thiazolyl blue tetrazoliumbromide(MTT) method. The subcellular structures were observed under electron microscope.DNA ladder pattern on agarose gel electrophores was used to evaluate the apoptotic index of hepG2 cells. The expression of survivin mRNA was analyzed by RT-PCR.Results 12-LOX mRNA was expressed in human HepG2 cells. At concentrations from 20 to 80 ?mol?L-1,baicalein inhibited the proliferation of HepG2 cells in a concentration-and time-dependent manner from 24 to 72 h.There were significant differences between any other groups(P

Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1987;0(03):-
Aim To explore the effect and mechanism of atorvastatin on lipopolysacchairde (LPS) inducing the expression of inhibitor of nuclear factor ?B? (I?B?) in human vascular endotheliar cells. Methods The human vascular endotheliar cell line ECV304 was cultured and divided into five groups as control group, LPS group, and low, moderate or high does atorvastatin groups. After incubated with different densities atorvastatin, the three atorvastatin groups and LPS group were stimulated with LPS 30min. Then the activation of I?B? was observed with immnofluorescence. The proteins expressions of I?B? and phosphorylated I?B? were detected with western blot. The ex-pression of I?B? mRNA was examined with reversetranscription-polymerase chain reaction. Results Atorvastatin could inhibit the translocation of p65 to the nucleus and reduce the phosphorylation and degradation of I?B? in a dose-dependent manner. The high density atorvastatin could increase the expression of I?B? mRNA. Conclusion The atorvastatin can inhibit the activation of nuclear factor ?B by regulating the expression and degradation of I?B?.

[Objective]To investigate the correlation of sagittal parameters in L5~S1 isthmic spondylolisthesis and its clinical manifestation.[Method]Seventy-six patients with L5~S1 isthmic spondylolisthesis were treated between January 2000 and December 2005,there were 32 males and 44 females with the age between 12 and 68 years. The lateral standing radiographs of the spine and pelvis were analyzed retrospectively.Radiographic parameters measured including pelvic incidence(PI),sacral slope(SS),lumbar lordosis(LL),lumbosacral angle(LSA)and grade of spondylolisthesis. All measurements were done by the same individual and compared to those of a cohort of 30 normal subjects.Students test was used to compare the parameters between the curve types and Pearsons correlation coefficients were used to investigate the association between all parameters(P

[Objective]To investigate the influence of panax notoginseng saponins(PNS)on production of Nitric Oxide(NO) by peritoneal macrophages of rats with adjuvant arthritis(AA).[Methods]Complete Freund's adjuvant was used to induce AA in rats.Production of NO by peritoneal macrophages of rats with adjuvant arthritis was determined by nitrate reductase.[Results]PNS 0.4mg/ml increased NO synthesis and secretion from peritoneal macrophages of AA rats in vitro after four hours(P

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2015;(37):6031-6036
BACKGROUND:Skeletal muscle fiber damage that is induced by prolonged or high-intensity exercise directly cause muscle injury. OBJECTIVE:To propose the existence of a relationship between delayed onset muscle soreness and muscle satel ite cel s after skeletal muscle injury from the objective reality. METHODS:A retrieval of CNKI and PubMed databases was done for relevant literature published from February 1961 to February 2015 using the keywords of“delayed onset muscle soreness;skeletal muscle injury;satel ite cel s, skeletal muscle;myogenic regulatory factors”in Chinese and English, respectively. Final y, 59 articles were included to explore the mechanism of skeletal muscle injury accompanied by delayed onset muscle pain. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Skeletal muscle micro-injury mainly refers to ultrastructural destroy and metabolic disorders, involving muscle cel membrane, cytoskeleton, sarcomere and mitochondria, thereby leading to skeletal muscle contraction dysfunction that is often accompanied with delayed onset muscle soreness. Eccentric exercise can cause the severest microdamage to the skeletal muscle fibers. The occurrence of delayed onset muscle soreness can stimulate the secretion of growth factors from skeletal muscle satel ite cel s to a certain extent, and the time series of delayed onset muscle soreness triggered by sustained high-intensity eccentric exercise has a certain correlation with the time series of the proliferation of skeletal muscle satel ite cel s.

Objective To study the impact of two surgical techniques in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) with portal vein tumor thrombus (PVTT).Methods A retrospective study was conducted on 143 patients with HCC with PVTT who underwent hepatectomy from January 1995 to December 2010 at the Affiliated Tumor Hospital of Guangxi Medical University. The patients were divided into two groups:group A,115 patients who underwent resection of HCC with PVTT; group B,28 patients who underwent HCC resection but the PVTT was extracted from the cut opening of the portal vein or the transected liver parenchyma. Results The median overall survival of group A was 18.0 months and the cumulative 1-,2-,3-year survival rates were 60.6%,41.0%,25.6 %,respectively; the median overall survival of group B was 7.0 months and the cumulative 1-,2-,3-year survival rates were 35.1%,13.6%,9.1%,respectively.The differences between the 2 groups were statistically significant (P < 0.001).Univariate analysis showed tumor number,PVTT types, prophylactic transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE),and surgical technique to be significant risk factor of postoperative overall survival (P < 0.05).Cox multivariate analysis indicated prophylactic TACE and surgical technique to be independent prognostic factor (P < 0.05).Conclusions When compared with group B patients, group A patients had significantly better overall survival.Postoperative prophylactic TACE further improved survival of these patients.
