1.Clinical Observation on the Treatment of Nonbacterial Prostatitis by Pricking Therapy

Forty cases of nonbacterial prostatitis were treated by pricking therapy, and another 40 cases were treated by norfloxacin capsul and flavoxate hydrochloride tablets as the control. The result showed the effective rate was 100% in the former and 95% in the latter,and there was a statistical difference in therapeutic effect between two groups(P < 0.05).Pricking therapy had a good effect on the nonbacterial prostatitis.
2.Three-dimensional nano-level morphological changes of hippocampal neurons either being damaged or protected

Objective To investigate the effect and mechanism of p38 MAPK inhibition in reducing the damage to rat's hippocampal neurons caused by kainic acid (KA) and observe the three-dimensional morphological changes on the cell surface. Methods The rat's hippocampal neurons cultured primarily for 10 days were pretreated with SB203580 (0.2 ?mol/L, a p38 MAPK inhibitor). Thirty minutes later, the hippocampal neurons were administered with KA at concentrations of 0, 25 and 250 ?mol/L for action for 10 and 100 minutes respectively. The cellular membrane structure was scanned and examined at nano-level by using atomic force microscope. Results Normal neurons displayed smooth membrane surface with homogeneous and regular undulation. In contrast, the neurons treated with KA showed coarse membrane surface with holes. Furthermore, the degree changes increased with the action time and the KA concentrations in a dose-effect dependent fashion. The above-mentioned changes were obviously mitigated by means of pretreatment with SB203580 (200 nmol/L). Conclusions Inhibition of p38 MAPK may, in certain degrees, protect the neurons against the impairments on cytomembrane resulted from the toxic effect of KA.

Aplastic anemia (AA) refers to a life-threatening bone marrow failure disorder.With respect to the precise pathophysiology of AA at present, it is still unclear.MicroRNA (miRNA), about 22 nucleotides in length, is a kind of small RNAs and it can regulate gene expression post-transcriptionally.According to domestic and foreign reports recently, there are abnormal expressions of several miRNAs in AA patients, suggesting that miRNAs may be involved in the development and progression of AA.This article reviews the study progress of miRNAs in AA.
4.Combination of hyperthermia and LPS may advance and augment systemic inflammatory response syndrome in rats

Objective To investigate the effects of co-exposure to LPS and heat on plasma tumor necrosis factor-? (TNF-?), interleukin-6 (IL-6), malondialdehyde (MDA) and activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) in rats. Methods Male pathogen-free Wistar rats were randomly assigned to the following groups: saline-injected normothermic control (Group C), saline-injected heat exposure (Group H), LPS-injected normothermic control (Group L), LPS-injected heat exposure (Group HL). Mean arterial pressure (MAP) was continually monitored. Plasma levels of TNF-?, IL-6, MDA and SOD were determined at 0, 40, 80, 120 min. Results The rats in Group HL displayed much lower MAP, higher MDA and lower SOD than the other 3 groups. The rats in Group HL displayed an early rise in plasma TNF-?, IL-6 at 40 min, the peak values of both at 80 min significantly higher than the other three groups at the same time piont. Conclusion Co-exposure to LPS and heat primes the rats to advance and augment systemic inflammatory response syndrome.

Objective To explore the new method to prevent graft versus host disease (GVHD) by clearing T lymphocytes of bone marrow graft through Fas-FasL way. Methods FasL-cDNA was transfected into BALB/C mouse hematopoietic cells by liposomes. The transfected cells were cultured together with BAC mice bone marrow graft. OBJECTIVE:To study the preparation of 5% albumin microspheres by sonication and the possible mechanism of microsphere forming.METHODS:The preparation technic was optimized with orthogonal design.The microsphere diameter was measured with Coulter multisizer and the outward apperance was observed with light and electronic microscope.RESUL_TS:The optimal preparation technic was as follows:5% albumin in NS,ultrasound power at 9th grade and 60 seconds of sonication.CONCLUSION:The albumin microspheres filled with air can be successfully prepared with orthogonal design and can be effectively used in intravenous myocardial contrast echocardiography.

9.A pilot fMRI study of event-based prospective memory in healthy adults

ObjectiveTo investigate the neural mechanism of prospective memory(PM) using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI).MethodsFifteen healthy volunteers were enrolled,and all subjects were scanned with fMRI while performing the event-based PM tasks (double-task paradigm,including the ongoing task and PM task).And the image data were preprocessed and analyzed by using SPM8 software.Results ( 1 ) Compared to the control task,bilateral rostral prefrontal cortex ( x,y,z =6/- 2,54/42,- 8/- 12,t =3.71 ),right somatosensory association area ( x,y,z =14,- 62,64,t =4.64 ),superior temporal gyrus ( x,y,z =42,- 46,16,t =3.95 ) and right paracentral lobule (x,y,z =10,-22,76,t =4.01 ) were activated significantly by the ongoing task (P < 0.001 ).(2) Bilateral rostral prefrontal cortex ( x,y,z =- 2/6,42/54,- 12/- 12,t =3.28) and paracentral lobule (x,y,z =- 30/10,- 22/- 22,72/76,t =4.25 ),left postcentral gyrus ( x,y,z =- 38,- 46,64,t=3.13) and middle occipital gyrus ( x,y,z =- 30,- 70,0,t =3.97 ) were activated significantly by the PM task (P < 0.001 ).ConclusionRostral prefrontal cortex (BA 10 area) is the major area of prospective memory,and medial BA10 area may be involved in the monitoring of external cues.The present study supports the gateway hypotheses of prospective memory.
10.Relationship between HBsAg level and HBV DNA level as well as illness severity in patients with HBV-related acute-on-chronk liver failure

Objective To analyze the relationship between HBsAg level and HBV DNA level as well as illness severity in patients with HBV-related acute-on-chronic liver failure (ACLF).Methods One hundred and nineteen patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB group) and 98 patients with ACLF(ACLF group) were enrolled.HBsAg and HBeAg were assayed with Roche electrochemical luminescence method.HBV DNA was quantified using a real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assay.HBsAg and HBV DNA levels were compared between two groups and between HBeAg-positive and HBeAg-negative patients in ACLF group respectively,also the correlationbetween HBsAg and HBV DNA was studied.Results The proportions of HBeAg-negative patients were 68.4%(67/98) and 42.9%(51/119) in ACLF group and CHB group respectively,and there was significant difference between two groups (P <0.01).There was no significant difference in HBV DNA between two groups (P > 0.05).HBV DNA in HBeAg-positive patients was higher than that in HBeAg-negative patients in two groups(P < 0.05).There was no significant difference in HBsAg between HBeAg-positive patients and HBeAg-negative patients in ACLF group (P > 0.05 ),but they were higher than that in HBeAg-positive patients in CHB group (P< 0.05).HBsAg was correlated to ALT,AST in HBeAg-positive patients (P < 0.05).No significant correlation was found among HBsAg and HBV DNA as well as biochemical changes (P> 0.05).There was no significant difference in the ratio of different HBsAg levels among the patients of different HBV DNA in ACLF group (P> 0.05).Conclusion The level of HBsAg does not directly correlate with serum HBV DNA level,and has no directly correlation with the severity of the disease in patients with HBV-related ACLF.
