1.Influence and Curative Effect Observation of Carvedilol on Serum Matrix Metalloproteinase -2, 9 and 10 (MMP-2, 9 and 10) in Patients with Chronic Congestive Heart Failure
China Pharmacist 2014;(5):816-817,818
Objective: To study the influence and curative effect of carvedilol on serum matrix metalloproteinase -2, 9 and 10 (MMP-2, 9 and 10) in the patients with chronic congestive heart failure (CHF). Methods:Totally 76 patients with CHF were select-ed and randomly divided into the observation group and the control group. All the patients were given routine medical treatment, inclu-ding cardiotonic treatment ( digoxin) , diuresis ( thiadiazide) , vascular dilation ( nitrate ester) and so on. The patients in the observa-tion group were additionally given carvedilol for 6 months. The changes of serum MMP-2, 9 and 10 levels in the patients before the treatment and 6 months after the medical treatment were observed, and the curative effect and safety were studied as well. Results:Af-ter the 6-month medical treatment, the serum MMP-2, 9 and 10 levels in all the patients were obviously declined(P<0. 05), and the declining rates in the observation group were much higher than those in the control group(P<0. 05). Meanwhile, the total clinical effi-ciency of the observation group was 94. 74%, which was higher than that of the control group (78. 95%) (P<0. 05). Conclusion:Carvedilol has favorable curative effect and safety in the treatment of CIF, and the underlying mechanism may be relative to the de-crease of serum MMP-2, 9 and 10 levels.

As an important measure to reduce casualties and prevent secondary pollution, decontamination is an impor-tant link in the process of emergency response during chemical accidents. The decontamination effect is closely related to decontamination technology and equipment.Decontamination agent selection and development are an important part of a decontamination technology. In this paper, the development and use of cleaning agents, such as alkaline, oxidation and chlorination, adsorption (degradation), metal oxide and oxygen acid salt, chemical compounds, biological (enzymatic), and individual disinfection package, light decontamination equipment, multifunctional integrated large-scale decontamination equipment at home or abroad, are reviewed.By laying bare the gap between China and advanced countries in the related field, we hope to raise the concern of relevant professional counterparts and promote the development of domestic decontami-nation technology and equipment with decontaminant agents at the core.

Objective To explore the effect of the traumatic brain injury on the fracture healing and the related mechanism. Methods 64 12-week-old SD rats were randomly divided into 2 groups: The femoral fracture with a brain injury group and the femoral fracture group. The bone callus was obtained 1, 2, 3 and 4 week after operation respectively, and observed with the HE staining. The vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and VEGF mRNA in the callus were detected with immunohistochemical staining and hybridization in situ. Results The formation and reforming of the callus in group with brain injury were ahead to only fracture. The percentages of the cells positive for VEGF and VEGF mRNA in the callus were more in group with brain injury than in pure fracture group at the same time point (P<0.05). Conclusion Traumatic brain injury can promote the healing of fracture, which is probably related to an increase in the expression of VEGF.

Objective To observe the outcomes of toe amputations in diabetic patients and to analyze the affecting factors. Methods Two-hundred and forty-five patients were divided into 2 groups:202 cases with the wound healed after toe amputation, and 43 patients whose wound did not heal after toe amputation. The factors related to healing were analyzed.Patients with healed wounds after toe amputations ( n =202 ) were followed, regarding reappearance of new ulcers, reamputations, mortality, activities of daily life, and the affecting factors. Results The rate of wound healing was 82.4%.The rate of follow-up in the healed group was 91.6%.The rates of reappearance of new ulcers after 1,3,and 5 years of observation were 27.3%,57.2%,76.4%,respectively.The rates of reamputations after 1,3,and 5 years of observation were 17.5%,22.3%,47.1%,respectively.The mortality rates by 1,3,and 5 years after the toe amputations were 3.8%,15.1%,32.7%,respectively.Mean survival time of the fatal cases after the first amputation was 3.8 (95% CI 3.4-4.1 )years.Multivariate analysis showed that HbA1c (>9%)was an independent predictor of wound healing, reappearance of new ulcers, and reamputations after toe amputations, and age ( > 70 years ) was an independent predictor of reamputations, mortality, and hampered daily activities. Conclusion Despite a satisfactory initial healing process after the first amputation, the long-term outcomes of the followed-up patients are not optimistic.Senile patients are often with poor prognosis, and good blood glucose control may improve the prognosis.
