Objective To investigate the correlation between minimum apparent diffusion coefficient ( ADC) values and consistency of intracranial meningiomas of different parts and nature, providing radiographic evidence of selection for surgical approach. Methods The routine MRI, diffusion-weighted imaging imaging (DWI), ADC maps and ADC value of 23 patients (25 cases) who were confirmed as men-ingiomas through surgery and pathology were retrospectively analyzed and compared with the surgical findings and pathology results. Results ADC values in meningiomas with a hard consistency were significantly lower than those with a soft consistency. Meningiomas with low mini-mum ADC were considered to have a hard consistency. Conclusion The consistency of meningiomas is an important factor in developing the strategy of surgical resection and predicting the degree of removal. The minimum ADC value might have clinical use as a predictor of menin-gioma consistency.

Availability of appropriate drugs for children has been a bottleneck both at home and abroad for years. As a result, drugs for adults that are market available emerge a choice of convenience for children's treatment instead. For unique physiological and psychological characteristics of children, these drugs must be dispensed on individual basis before usage to children in question.Such drugs play a key role in children's treatment, and incur many problems on the other hand in their use and practice, such as drug stability, dosage accuracy, potential risks, as well as legitimacy in drug dispensing and use.A safe, reasonable and normalized use of such drugs calls for an orchestrated effort among pharmacists, trade associations and drug regulators as well.

Case based study emphasizes on the training of students' practical clinical ability. With the development of computer technology, picture archiving and communication system was widely applied, providing bases for case based study. According to the characteristics of radiology, appli-cation of case based study in medical imaging practice teaching was believed to stimulate students' learning interest, improve their analytical ability and thinking capacity, make them combine theory with practice better and develop their clinical thinking ability.

Objective To evaluate the significance of COLD-PCR in detecting KRAS mutation of pancreatic cancer and colorectal cancer patients. Methods First, set up COLD-PCR and compared the sensitivities of COLD-PCR/Sanger sequencing with PCR/Sanger sequencing using mixed cell lines ( KRAS wild-type cell line SW116 and KRAS mutant cell line SW480).Then, detected KRAS mutation of 20 formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded samples of pancreatic cancer and 39 formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded samples of colorectal cancer using PCR/Sanger sequencing and COLD-PCR/Sanger sequencing, respectively and compared the coincidence rate and consistency. Results The low detection limits of PCR/Sanger respectively. KRAS frequency detected by COLD-PCR/Sanger sequencing [75% (15/20)] in 20 cases of pancreatic cancer was higher than that detected by regular PCR/Sanger sequencing [40% ( 8/20 ) ,x2 =5.013, P < 0.05]. KRAS frequency detected by COLD-PCR/Sanger sequencing [44% (17/39)] in 39 cases of colorectal cancer was higher than that detected by regular PCR/Sanger sequencing [31% (12/39) ,x2 =1. 372, P = 0. 174]. The coincidence rate of these two methods was 0. 730 and the difference had no statistical significance. The coincidence rate of detecting KRAS mutation was 65% in pancreatic cancer and the results showed a good correlation between two methods and the two methods had bad agreement in diagnosis (Kappa = 0. 364, P < 0. 05 ). COLD-PCR/Sanger sequencing could detect more cases of KRAS mutations from pancreatic caner than regular PCR/Sanger sequencing. This was because there were many non-tumor cells in pancreatic tumor tissue and COLD-PCR/Sanger sequencing was more sensitive than regular PCR/Sanger sequencing. The coincidence rate of detecting KRAS mutations was 87% in colorectal cancer and the results were showed a good correlation between two methods and the two methods had substantical agreement in diagonsis ( Kappa = 0. 730, P < 0. 05 ) . Conclusion COLD-PCR/Sanger sequencing is highly sensitive to screen KRAS mutation in pancreatic cancer and colorectal cancer patients.

Objective To investigate the MRI features of intracranial solitary fibrous tumors/hemangiopericytomas (SFT/HPC),and to compare these findings with those of intracranial meningiomas. Methods The clinical features and MRI findings in 28 patients of intracranial SFT/HPC (SFT/HPC group)and 68 patients of meningiomas (meningiomas group) confirmed by operation and pathology were retrospectively analyzed. The indicators of two groups were compared. Results Shape of tumor, signal homogeneous, signal voids of vessel in tumor, hypointense signal nodules on T2WI and enhanded, cystic or necrosis in tumor, meningeal tail sign, changes of the nearby bone,sex,Ki-67% level, blood lose in surgery had significant differences between SFT/HPC group and meningiomas group (all P<0.05).Conclusion There are some differences between intracranial SFT/HPC and meningiomas. It is helpful in diagnosis and differential diagnosis through the comparative analysis of the imaging signs.

Objective To investigate the imaging characteristics and diagnostic value of tri-phase dynamic enhancement scan with CT for acute renal infarction. Methods The image features of CT plain scan and tri-phase dynamic enhancement scan of 10 patients (19 sides) with acute renal infarction were retrospectively analyzed, and the CTA expression of 6 patients were observed. Results Fourteen acute renal infarction lesions of 10 cases were diagnosed. The CT scan showed there were 4 cases with enlargement of kidney, and the other 6 cases were of no abnormality. The tri-phase enhancement CT scan showed there were 6 cases of unilateral renal infarction and 4 cases of bilateral renal infarction, which totally involving 14 sides. The acute renal infarction lesions lacked of high density region in the corticomedullary in cortical phase, and there were wedge-shaped hypodense area, even low density of full kidney in parenchymal phase and pyelographic phase. The a-cute renal infarction lesions were revealed better in parenchymal phase and pyelographic phase than in cortical phase. Six cases of CTA re-vealed the responsible vessels of renal infarction lesions and the other vascular diseases. Conclusion CT tri-phase dynamic enhancement scan has important value in the diagnosis of acute renal infarction, and CTA can identify the responsible vessels of renal infarction lesions.

Referring to the statistical model for the SNP haplotype phasing which was based on the allele frequencies and advised by Browning SR, we investigated and deduced the phasing method of STR haplotype with linkage disequilibrium inpaternity testing preliminarily. Haplotype phasing of two X-STRs in linkage disequilibrium were illustrated. This method provides an idea for the haplotype phasing of STR markers, which is helpful for interpreting the typing results of STR more scientifically and accurately.
