Journal of Medical Research 2006;0(05):-
Objective To compare the curative effect of two kinds of operations in subtotal thyroidectomy.Methords To compare the appliance of trocar drain, fibrin glue, moderate pressure dressing with the traditional latex tubing drain in another cut in subtotal thyroidectomy. Results There were significant differences in draining volume, draining time and scar between the two groups. Conclusions In treatment group it is safer, more effective and with less complication than those of control group. It is worthy of spreading.
2.A comparative study on the close reduction of arytenoid dislocation under indirect and direct laryngoscope.
Journal of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (Medical Sciences) 2002;22(4):375-7
To assess the curative effects of different reduction techniques on the dislocation of cricoarytenoid joint caused by intubation, indirect laryngoscope (IL) and direct laryngoscope (DL) were utilized for the closed reduction of the displaced arytenoid under local anesthesia. 23 patients who underwent the reduction for dislocated arytenoid under IL or DL from January 1991 to June 2001 were reviewed. The data were collected on the duration of the laryngeal injury, times of receiving reduction, side-effects after the treatment and the period for voice to return to normal. The relationship between the duration of the laryngeal lesion and the period of the voice rehabilitation was examined. 13 patients received the reduction under IL and 10 patients under DL. Except the times of the reduction, which showed significant difference, no differences were found between IL group and DL group in the course and the period of voice rehabilitation, as well as sore throat after the manipulation. The patients' voice recovery was positively related to their course of disease in both IL and DL group. It is concluded that the recovery of normal voice is obviously affected by the duration of arytenoid dislocation. The reduction under IL is as effective as under DL in the treatment of arytenoid dislocation. Reduction by DL is better suit the patients with long time course of disease.

3.The incidence of axillary metastases and appropriate surgery for ductal carcinoma in situ of the breast
China Oncology 2001;0(05):-
Purpose:To study the appropriate surgical treatment for ductal carcinoma in situ of the breast ( DCIS ).Methods:16 patients with DCIS treated between Jan 1994 and Dec 2003 were evaluated. All patients underwent lumpectomy and intraoperative frozen section evaluation. The median age was 43 years ( range 30 to 84 ) and the median pathologic size of DCIS was 2.0cm ( range 0.3 to 4cm ). 2 of these 16 patients had Halsted radical mastectomy, 11 had modified radical mastectomy, 2 had simple mastectomy and 1 had breast-conserving surgery ( quadrant excision plus axillary lymph node dissection ). As postoperative treatment, 3 patients received radiotherapy, 8 received chemotherapy and 10 had endocrine therapy.Results:2 patients were found to have axillary micrometastases. The median follow-up time was 62(6~114)months. All patients survived without recurrence. Only one patient was found to have metastasis in hipbone 4 years after operation. Conclusions:Lumpectomy or wider excision plus postoperative radiotherapy is feasible for most patients with DCIS.[

Objective:To investigate the difference in expression of FasL and ICAM-1 in the tonsillar HEV associated with IgA nephropathy (IgAN) and recurrent tonsillitis (RT).Methods:Human tonsils were obtained from the patients with RT (n=18) or IgAN (n=12).HE staining was used to show the morophometry of the tonsillar HEV.CD20+,CD3+ lymphocytes and distribution of FasL and ICAM-1 in the HEV were observed with immunohistochemical stained tissue section. The quantitatively experimental data from pathological image analysis were compared between IgAN and RT group.Results:(1)The expressing intensity of ICAM-1 was (0.435 5?0.002) in IgAN group and (0.239 5?0.010 4) in RT group, respectively (P0.05).Conclusion:A significant increase in the number of tonsillar HEV and increased lymphocytes in HEVs may indicate the abnormalities in peripheral blood in the patients with IgAN,thus leading to an overactivation of the tonsillar HEVs that induce Fas-dependent apoptosis in such patients.A stronger biological effective adhesion molecule promotes the transendothelial migration of lymphocytes across HEVs of palatine tonsil, which appears to be connected with the development of IgAN.

BACKGROUND:Topical tranexamic acid (TXA) administration has been described to be effective in decreasing blood loss in total hip arthroplasty (THA).Most of research focus on the postoperative total drainage, but the drainage at different time points after replacement is little reported.OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effect of topical TXA on the volume of drainage at different time points after THA.METHODS:Data of 79 cases of primary unilateral THA were analyzed retrospectively, and allotted to two groups.TXA group (n=38) was subjected to the reverse perfusion of 1.5 g of TXA (50 mL) by drainage tube after THA,and control group (n=41) was given 50 mL of normal saline in the same way.The postoperative drainage at 1,2 and 3 days, total postoperative drainage, and hemoglobin level at postoperative 3 days were collected and compared between two groups.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:There was no significant difference in the baseline data between two groups (P > 0.05).(1) The postoperative drainage at 1 day and total drainage in the TXA group was significantly lower than that in the control group, and the drainage showed no significant difference at postoperative 2 and 3 days between two groups (P >0.05).(2) The hemoglobin level was significantly increased in the TXA group compared with the control group at 3 days postoperatively (P < 0.05).(3) To conclude, the topical TXA administration can reduce the postoperative drainage in primary unilateral THA,especially at the first day.

Objective To evaluate the potential high risk factors of femoral head necrosis after femoral neck surgery in adult patients. Methods From January 2009 to October 2014,390 patients with femoral neck fractures in our hospital were treated with multiple hollow compression screws. All patients were followed up for 12 to 60 months. Then retrospectively analyzed the incidence rates of femoral head nec-rosis and the clinical data about age, gender, fracture side,Garden index, fracture shift condition, internal medicine complications, whether to do lower limb preoperative traction, restoration method, postoperative load time and whether take out hollow compression screw internal fixa-tion,so as to explore the higher risk factors for femoral head necrosis. Results Among the 390 cases,352 cases got followed up. There were 45 cases of them ended with nonunionand 49 cases ended with femoral head necrosis. The univariate regression analysis results showed that the age, fracture shift condition, internal medicine complications, postoperative load time and Garden index, whether take out internal fixation were risk factors for femoral head necrosis (P<0. 05). The multi-factor results showed that aged from 40 to 60 years old, transfered fracture, seriously complications, time of loading less than 3 mouths,Ⅲ and Ⅳ Garden index, take out internal fixation were the high risk factors for femoral head necrosis (P<0. 05). Conclusion Patients who aged from 40 to 60 years old and having transfered fracture, seriously complica-tion,early weight bearing, high Garden index and internal fixation take-out would increase the risk of femoral head necrosis.

Objective To study human sperm acrosome by means of flurescein labeled pisum sativum agglutinin technique (FITC PSA) to evaluate the fertile capacity of human sperm. Methods The acrosome intact rate was assessed in 58 infertile men and in 46 fertile ones.Human zona pelucida (zp) induced acrosome reaction was detected in 7 infertile and 7 fertile men. Results The acrosome intact rate and the acrosome reaction rate were both higher in the fertile group than those in the infertile group ( P
