1.MSCT diagnosis values for pulmonary segment lesions
Chinese Journal of Primary Medicine and Pharmacy 2008;15(8):1257-1258
Objective To analyze CT features of the pulmonary segment lesions. Methods The CT findings of 88 patients with pulmonary segment lesions were reviewed. The diseases included chronic pneumonitis(n=30),tuberculosis(n=24),lung cancer(n=34),all proved pathologically. Results Wedge-shape or cone-shape of lesions was demonstrated in most of cases. In chronic pneumonitis, the border of lesion was depression or straight without hilar mass and bronchus obstructed. Most lesion was isodensity and the air bronehogram could be found in some cases. In tuberculosis, the border was irregular or hazy with different density inside the lesion(cavity,calcification,bronchieetasis).Satellite-lesion and thickening of the pleura nearby were found commonly. In lung cancer, the hilar mass and pot obstructed bronchus were the characteristic, with the border evagination in some cases.According to the above,82% of the cases were diagnosed correctly. Conclusions Some relative specific CT manifestation existed in the pulmonary segment lesions caused by chronic pneumonitis, tuberculosis and lung cancer. But the CT of some patients were similar to each other,of which diagnosis must be based on pathology.
2.Evaluation of imaging diagnostic methods of the renal tuberculosis
Chinese Journal of Primary Medicine and Pharmacy 2008;15(6):930-931
Objective To analyze the image findings of renal tuberculosis and evaluate the merits and disad vantages of various imaging diagnostic methods, then choose the most sensitive one. Methods The KUB, IVP, AP and CT findings of 48 patients with renal tuberculosis which had been convinced by operations were evaluated and compared. Results The diagnosis rates of KUB and IVP were 41.7% (20/48), AP of 62.5 % (10/16), CT of 100 % (48/48). The characteristic findings of CT were multiple low density lesions, with "flower petals" shape gath-ered in sections. Conclusion CT has a great value for diagnosing renal tuberculosis.

Objective:
To analysis the alterations of CaM and its downstream factors in the brains of scrapie infected mice.
Methods:
Using the methods of Western blot and immunohistochemistry assay to detect the levels and distributions of CaM, as well as the expressing alterations of the downstream substrates of CaM in the brains of mice infected with scrapie.
Results:
Compared with the normal controls, the levels of CaM are significantly increased in the brains of scrapie-infected mice and particularly distributing in the regions of cortex, thamalus and cerebellum. Remarkable high levels of CaMKII, p-CaMKII and p-CaMKIV are observed in the brain homogenates of scrapie-infected mice. The regulatory protein of cAMP response element binding protein (CREB) and p-CERB are also increased, while the levels of BDNF which is regulated by p-CREB are obeviously downregulated.
Conclusions
The synthesis of BDNF may be influenced by the prion replication in neuron and further attenuates its neuronal protective features.

On the basis of the qualitative preparation quality markers of Zhibao Sanbian Wan (ZBSBW), we screened out the quantitative markers and evaluated the content consistency of ZBSBW. A method capable of simultaneously determining 34 compounds in ZBSBW was established based on HPLC-MS/MS, and 16 batches of ZBSBW were simultaneously analyzed by this method. Furthermore, we explored a general strategy for analyzing the component migration in preparation, plasma, brain tissue and cerebrospinal fluid. The methodological investigation was confirmed by linear range, recovery (85.10%-105.07%), precision (RSD: 1.37%-4.58%), stability, and repeatability (3.00%-12.45%), the established method was suitable for the detection and quantification of the compounds in ZBSBW. The contents of compounds in ZBSBW were all lower than 1 mg·g-1, and the contents and daily dose of nystose were the highest, followed by echinacoside, paeoniflorin, osthole and paeonol. The results of systematic clustering showed that the contents were consistent for ordinary preparations of ZBSBW. The principal component analysis showed that the components of berberine, ginsenoside Re, ginsenoside Rg1, pinoresinol diglucoside and tenuifolin had large variation, which contributed significantly to the grouping. The contents of echinacoside, verbascoside, polygalaxanthone Ⅲ,
