Objective To explore clinicopathological features and prognosis of juvenile granulosa cell tumor (JGCT).Methods Patients were divided into JGCT group (n=10) and the adult granulosa cell tumor (AGCT) group (n=10).The tumor samples were examined by HE and immunohistochemical methods. Results Age of JGCT group ranged from 7-31 years (average 20.5 years);90% occurred before 30 years old.Diameter of the tumors ranged from 5.5 cm to 15.0 cm,average 9.8 cm.Characteristic features included nodular arrangement, irregular formation of follicles containing muein and luteinization, atypical hyperplasia of ceils and high mitotic activity.Nuclei grooved and Call-Exner bodies were absent or rare.Survival rate was 90% in 5 years.Age of AGCT group ranged from 14-74 years (average 45.1 years);AGCT occurred mostly in over 40 years old.Atypical hyperplasia of cell, mitotic activity and luteinization were absent or rare.Nuclei grooved and eall-Exner bodies were common.Survival rate was 100% in 5 years.Immunohistochemical staining were positive for p53 at 70%,PCNA at 90% in 10 cases of JGCT and p53 at 10%,PCNA at 20% in 10 cases of AGCT(P

Objective To compare three kinds of irradiation treatment plans for cervical and upper thoracic esophageal cancer,in order to arrived at proper decision for the patient. Methods From February 2001 to June 2004,43 such patients were studied with three different simulated treatment plans made including conformal plan, conventional four-field plan and conventional two-field plan for every one.All plans were evaluated with iso- dose curve and dose-volume histogram. Results GTV on 95% isodose curve was 99.5%,98.2% and 87.4% in conforaml plan, conventional four-field plan and conventional two-field plan,respectively;PTV_1 and PTV_2 on 95% isodose with 97.8%,97.2%,94.8% and 95.8%,86.6%,73.7%.The volume of>20 Gy dose of left lung accepted was 18.6%,17.2% and 32.3%,in conformal plan, conventional four-field plan and conventional two-field plan, respectively;the right lung received 20.5%,19.9% and 35.5%.Conclusions Conformal plan is the best in radiotherapy,as it can provide ideal dose distribution of irradiated target with adequate protection of the normal tissues.Conventional four-field plan, being easy to carry out,can replace the conformal plan in most situations.Conventional two-field has the most uneven dose distribution and largest lung volume irradiated.

Microbiology 2008;0(10):-
The yeast Sacchromyces cerevisiae is most widely used for producing bioethanol in alcoholic industry due to its higher ethanol yield and fermentation rate. However, the toxic effect of accumulated ethanol is one of the main factors, which limit high ethanol production. Thus, investigating the mechanisms of yeast ethanol tolerance will provide the basis for solving the industrial problem. This article reviewed the mechanisms of Sacchromyces cerevisiae ethanol tolerance focusing on its cell physiological behaviors, structure and biochemical composition, as well as its genetic basis.
8.Corrections on medicinal resource of Gramineae in Guizhou province and Guiyang city.
China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2005;30(23):1814-1816
OBJECTIVETo confirm the medicinal plants of Gramineae and their distribution in Guiyang city.
METHODThrough field investigations and comparing the collected speciments and literatures, the geographical distribution and functions of the medicinal species were investigated.
RESULT24 new medicinal species of Gramineae were found in Guizhou, while 5 species were absent in Guizhou. And 1 was first recorded for medicinal uses, 3 species newly added, and the latin name of 1 species was corrected.
CONCLUSIONThere are 72 medicinal species and 4 varieties in Guiyang.

Chinese Journal of Contemporary Pediatrics 2010;12(7):573-575
OBJECTIVETo study and compare the prophylatic efficacy of levetiracetam, valproate and phenobarbital on febrile convulsions in rats.
METHODSSixty Wistar rats were randomly administered with levetiracetam (200 mg/kg), valproate (250 mg/kg), phenobarbital (30 mg/kg) or normal saline (8 ml/kg) for 5 days. Five days later, febrile convulsions were induced by hyperthermal bath (45 Celcius degree). The latency, duration and the severity of seizures were observed.
RESULTSIn all the three drug-treated groups, the latency was significantly prolonged, and the duration and the severity of seizures were notably reduced compared with the saline group (P<0.05 or 0.01). The phenobarbital group had the shortest duration of seizures and the least severe seizures among the three drug-treated groups. There were no significant differences between the levetiracetam and valproate groups.
CONCLUSIONSContinuous administration of levetiracetam, valproate or phenobarbital is effective in preventing recurrent febrile convulsions in rats. Phenobarbital appears to be more effective than levetiracetam and valproate. There were no significant differences in the prophylactic efficacy between levetiracetam and valproate.

Chinese Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine 2010;30(7):757-763
OBJECTIVETo further articulate the conceptual framework of sub-health by way of literature review.
METHODSPublished papers and relevant literature about sub-health were collected, the representative publishing about theoretical exploration and practical surveys were focused for analyzing and assessing the category of sub-health, investigative objects, assessing tools, conceptual framework, diagnostic criteria and its operability, foundation support, etc.
RESULTSSub-health conditions were categorized into three kinds in most documents, namely, the somatic, the mental and the social adaptative sub-health, and the relevant symptoms were classified into three levels. However, contents regarding the homogeneous issues, such as meaning and definition of sub-health, its diagnostic criteria and operability, in different documents were discrepant.
CONCLUSIONDiscrepancy exists between the theoretical and practical studies of sub-health. And detailed description is needed to articulate the problems respectively on specific and non-specific sub-health. The perspicuity of conceptual framework is the basis of sub-health researches. The authors recommended that to form the framework the four-level hierarchic structure should be adopted; in developing the assessing tool for sub-health diagnosis, besides the basic assessment on concrete conditions, the differential evaluation on the belonging of overall manifestations, subjective complain or objective symptom, should also be paid attention to.
