Objective To investigate the association of the expressions of p27 and proliferating cell nuclear antigen(PCNA)and nuclear-associated antigen(ki-67)proteins in synovial sarcoma,and the relationship with its prognosis.Methods The expression of p27,PCNA and ki-67 in 36 synovial sarcoma and 10 normal synovial tissue were immunohistochemically examined.The relationship between the expressions of p27,PCNA and ki-67 proteins in synovial sarcoma with its prognosis by clinical stage,tissue grades and prognosis was investigated.Results (1)In normal synovial tissue,the expressions of PCNA(0) and ki-67(0) were positive,p27 were positive100%(10/10).but the expressions of PCNA[86.1%(31/36)]and ki-67[69.4%(25/36)]in most synovial sarcoma were positive,p27 were negative[11.1%(4/36)],significant differences were found among these expressions(χ2=25.16,χ2=9.18,P＜0.05).(2) p27 positive-expression correlated significantly wiht thehistological grade of synovial sarcoma(χ2=9.19,P＜0.05)and prognosis(χ2=5.98,P＜0.05).The positive expressions of PCNA and ki-67 were positively related with the clinical stage(χ2=7.40,χ2=8.12,P＜0.05)and tissue grades(χ2=7.17,χ2=9.18,P＜0.05)and prognosis(χ2=13.03,χ2=10.66,P＜0.05)of synovial sarcina(3) There were negative correlations between p27 and PCNA(r=-0.63,P＜0.05) and between p27 and ki-67(r=-0.53,P＜0.05).But positive correlation between PCNA and ki-67(r=0.63,P＞0.05)was found.Conclusions Expressions of PCNA and ki-67 in most synovial sarcomas are positive,and that of p27 is negative,each plays an important role in the proliferation of synovial sarcoma.Combination of measuring of the p27,PCNA and ki-67 is valuble in predicting the prognosis.

Objective To investigate the expression of glucocorticoid receptor(GR), GR? mRNA and GR? mRNA in peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMC)of patients with multiple sclerosis(MS) and healthy controls and investigate the relationship between GR protein, GR? mRNA, GR? mRNA and intravenous injection methylprednisolone(IVMP)effect.Methods GR in PBMC was measured by radioligand assays in 20 patients with relapsing-remitting MS(RRMS), 6 with the second progressive MS (SPMS)and 26 healthy controls.Semi-quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR)was used to detect the expression of GR? mRNA and GR? mRNA in PBMC of patients with MS and healthy controls.The effect of IVMP was evaluated by the expanded disability status scale(EDSS). Objective To investigate the effects of ulinastatin on the expression of neutrophil CD_(11b) and CD_(18) during orthotopic liver transplantation(OLT).Methods Forty patients with liver diseases,ASAⅢorⅣ, undergoing OLT were randomly divided into two groups.Ulinastatin group(n=20)received intravenous infusion of ulinastatin 3?10~5 IU in 100 ml normal saline after skin incision and repeated every 4 hours thereafter.Control group received same amount of normal saline instead(n=20).Blood samples were taken immediately before skin incision,120 min after skin incision,30 min of anhepatic phase,60 min of neohepatic phase and at the end of operation for measurement of CD_(11b) and CD_(18) expression of neutrophil by flow cytometry.Results CD_(11b)/CD_(18) expression was increased significantly in control group 60 min of neohepatic phase and at the end of operation compared to the level before skin incision,but in ulinastatin group there was no significant change in CD_(11b)/CD_(18) expression during the whole procedures(P＞0.05).CD_(11b)/CD_(18)expression was significantly lower 60 min of neohepatic phase and at the end of operation in ulinastatin group than in control group(P＜0.01).Conclusion Ulinastatin can inhibit the increase in CD_(11b)/CD_(18)expression during OLT,and be helpful for reducing the inflammatory response.

Objective To explore the dynamic change of serum leptin interleukin-6(IL-6),and interleukin-8(IL-8)during cerebral infarction,and to analyze the possible relationship between these factors and the severity of the disease.Method The levels of serum leptin,IL-6 and IL-8 were measured by radioimmunoassay in 60 patients with acute cerebral infarction,who were admitted to the hospital within 24 hours after stroke.Patients' neurologic impairment were evaluated by European Stroke Scale(ESS)at 1,3 and 7 days respectively after hospitalization.At the same time,another 30 normal adults were enrolled set as control group. Results The levels of serum Leptin,IL-8 in patients group after at 1 days,3 and 7 days were higher than those in the controls(P0.05).The ESS of these patients were 76.77?26.42,70.02?29.17,74.65?28.42 respectively,after 1,3 and 7 days.It shown that ESS simply correlated to the level of IL-8(P0.05).Statistic analysis was carried,but by using t test and linear correlation.(SPSS11.5 statistical package).Conclusion Leptin,IL-6 and IL-8 probably play a role in the inflammatory,reaction during acute cerebral infarction.The IL-8 may reflect the severity of the disease.

Objective To explore the pathological changes of the livers from hepatic failure (HF)patients and its association with clinical disease stages.Methods Thirty-nine patients with liver failure caused by HBV infections were investigated,and none accompanied with hepatocellular carci- noma.The sections of tissue were taken from the liver after liver transplantation and stained with he- matoxylin eosin(H&E)or RT(reticular fiber)staining.The pathological features were analyzed and compared between the clinical and pathological diagnosis.Results 1.The range and the grade of the pathological changes were all well-proportioned in the whole liver but quite asymmetrical in the same spicemen.2.4 cases with clinical diagnosis of cirrhosis(active stage)were in accordance with the pathological diagnosis.Only 17 in 35cases can be pathologically diagnosed as chronic severe hepatitis (SH),while the other 18 cases were pathologically diagnosed as cirrhosis(active stage).Conclu- sion There were a great inconsistency between the clinical and pathological diagnosis.
