This article analyzed both the etiopathogenisis and high risk factors of DVT in patients of orthopaedics diseases. Furthermore, it explained both the prophylaxis and therapies of DVT from traditional Chinese medicine (TCM),western medicine, and combined traditional Chinese and western medicine point of view.

Objective: To detect the expression of fragile histidine triad (FHIT) protein and aberrant methylation of its gene in lung carcinoma tissue and discuss their significance in tumorigenesis of lung cancer. Methods: The expression of FHIT protein was determined by immunohistochemical SP staining and its aberrant methylation was detected by methylation-specific PCR (MSP) in lung cancer and adjacent lung tissues (n = 60). The sequencing of the amplified products of MSP was performed. The 60 patients were followed up. Results: The expression of FHIT protein in adjacent lung tissues was obviously higher than that in lung cancer tissues. There was significant difference between them (76.7% vs 50%, P < 0.05). The aberrant methylation of FHIT gene was significantly higher in lung cancer tissues than that in adjacent lung tissues (68.3% vs 35.0%, P <0.001). And the aberrant methylation of FHIT gene occurred frequently in FHIT-negative patients compared with FHIT-positive patients (83.3% vs 53.5%, P <0. 05). The expression of FHIT protein and the aberrant methylation of FHIT gene had no correlation with clinicopathological parameters (age, sex, smoking status, histological type, general classification, TNM staging, and lymph node metastasis) in the patients with lung cancer (P > 0.05). The survival time was longer in FHIT-positive patients than FHIT-negative patients (P <0.05). The FHIT protein was the risk factor associated with the disease-free survival time of patients (P <0.01). Conclusion: The aberrant methylation of FHIT gene occurrs frequently and the expression of FHIT protein is significantly down-regulated in lung cancer. FHIT may play an important role in the tumorigenesis and development of lung cancer. FHIT protein could be used as an important factor for predicting the prognosis of patients.

Results: The expression of FHIT protein in the adjacent tissues was obviously higher than that in the lung cancerous tissues(76.7% vs 50%, P<0.01). No correlation was found between FHIT expression and the age, sex, smoking, general type, TNM staging, histological type, and lymph node metastasis in the patients with lung cancer. The expression of MDR1 protein in lung cancerous tissues positive for FHIT was obviously higher than those negative for FHIT(83.3% vs 60%, P<0.01). Conclusion: The expression of FHIT protein in lung cancer is evidently down regulated and is correlated with the expression of MDR1. Potential multiple drug resistance should be considered in FHIT gene therapy.

Objective To observe the morphology, cell viability and secretion function of catecholamine of the alginate-polylysine-alginate (APA) microencapsulated bovine chromaffin cells (BCCs) before and after cryopreserving with liquid nitrogen. Methods The APA microencapsulated BCCs were cryopreserved with dimethyl sulfoxide as cryopreservative agent by slow cooling and rapid rewarming for revivification. The change of cell function was observed by detecting the cell viability and secretion of catecholamine. Results As compared with the precryopreseving cells, the morphology and cell viability of the resuscitated APA microencapsulated BCCs showed no significant change. The catecholamine secretion volume of BCCs remained 80% of that by the precryopreserving cells. Conclusion It demonstrates that the resuscitated cryopreserved APA microencapsulated BCCs still remained good morphology, cell viability and secretion function of catecholamine.

[Objective]To study the effect of Simvastatin on the regeneration of sciatic nerve of rats and its mechanism of immunoregulation.[Method]Twenty eight female Sprague-Dawley rats were used and the rats experienced the sciatic nerve crush injury.Animals were randomized into: Simvastatin-treated crush injury animals,vehicle-treated crush injury animals and sham-operated animals.Simvastatin(20 mg/kg) was given once a day over a time period of 14 day sby oral gavage via a pharyngeal tube.After surgery,the functional evaluation of nerve recovery,electrophysiologic assessment,histological assessment,serum IL-6 and TNF-? assessment were performed.[Result]The toe spread index of Simvastatin-treated crush injury animals was higher significantly than that of vehicle rats at d5 and d8(P

Objective To explore risk factors of type 2 diabetes mellitus in suburban of Tianjin.Methods A frequently matched community-based case-control study was conducted in Tianjin suburb.The multi-phasic stratified cluster sampling method was adopted.Finally 9 961 people were selected as study subjects.All of 585 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus were recruited as cases,and 620 persons without type 2 diabetes mellitus were chosen as controls.The two groups were frequently matched by age and sex.Results Family history of diabetes mellitus(OR=2.671),depression(OR=3.759),higher level of BMI(OR=1.502) and WHR(OR=1.740),history of hypertension(OR=2.016),history of hyperlipoidemia(OR=1.867),were risk factors for type 2 diabetes mellitus while increased the risk of type 2 diabetes.And increasing intake of fruits(OR=0.736) was shown to be reversely associated with diabetes mellitus.Conclusions Family history of diabetes mellitus,depression,overweight,central obesity,history of hypertension,history of hyperlipoidemia were risk factors of type 2 diabetes mellitus in suburban of Tianjin,while increasing intake of fruits was shown to be a protective factor of diabetes mellitus.

To investigate the clinical risk factors of cardiac diastolic dysfunction in type 2 DM, Doppler echocardiographic examinations were performed on 63 male patients.With a routine 2 dimensional echocardiograph, mitral and pulmonary venous flow velocity were recorded. The patients were classified into DM, IGT and NGT based on well standardized criteria of WHO. All analyses were performed by the SPSS/PC or Windows Release 9.0 Statistical Package. The risk factors of impairment of diastolic function were analyzed by regression. Results showed that the levels of blood glucose and insulin were independent risk factors for diabetic cardiac diastolic dysfunction.
