Interdisciplinary organization is a type of ecosystem,its development process is an eco-style,self-development process of evolution.This paper took Bio-X Institute of Shanghai Jiao Tong University as an example and analyzed the organizational and developmental features of interdisciplinary organization from the ecological and practical level.The features included the clear and stable organizational strategy,academic leaders with interdisciplinary awareness and excellent research groups,comprehensive interdisciplinary research infrastructure,administrative management and financial support of the university,strict but free cultural atmosphere,effective interdisciplinary research platform,rich interdisciplinary cooperative relationship net-work,effective management system and implementation system,combination of interdisciplinary research and interdisciplinary personnel training.There is ecological management latent and ecological co-evolution idea implicated in the construction and development of the Bio-X institute,which presents an ecological process of evolution.
2.Neuroprotective effects of Mannitol combined with Nimotop in treatment of ischemic reperfusion injury in rats

Objective To study neuroprotective machanisms of Mannitol combined with Nimodipine in treatment of ischemic reperfusion injury in rats. Objective: To observe the effects of tetramethylpyrazine on the content of tumor necrosis factor?(TNF?) and the activity of myeloperoxidase(MPO) after cerebral ischemia/reperfusion in rats,and to investigate its mechanism of protective effects on cerebral ischemia/reperfusion.Methods: Thirtysix male SD rats were randomly divided into shamoperated group,model group and(tetramethylpyrazine) group.The thread with embolus was(inserted) in the cerebral(middle) artery in shamoperated group,but the artery was not(embolized).The cerebral ischemia/reperfusion models of rats were established in model group and(tetramethylpyrazine) group,while in the latter group,33 mg/kg of tetramethylpyrazine was(injected)(intraperitoneally) 30 minutes before ischemia.The methods of radioimmunoassay and pectrophotometry were used respectively to detected the content of TNF? and the activity of MPO in brain tissues of rats.(Results): Compared with those in shamoperated group,the content of TNF?((0.601?0.089) ?g/L vs.(1.576?0.153) ?g/L) and the activity of MPO((0.026?0.008) U/g vs.(0.409?0.044) U/g) in brain tissues(increased) markedly in model group(both P
4.Mid- and long-term results of tricuspid valve repair with an annuloplasty ring

Objective To compare the mid- and long-term results of tricuspid valve (TV) repair with or without an annuloplasty ring. Methods Two hundred seventy-seven patients underwent TV repair at our division (Sep. 2001 to Sep. 2008) ,of which 203 had, predominantly, a De Vega or Kay procedure (non-ring group) and 74had an annuloplasty with an artificial ring (ring group). TV pathology mainly was functional (secondary) and several with rheumatic leaflets involvement. Concomitant procedures consisted of mitral valve surgery in all patients,aortic valve surgery in 81 ,and coronary bypass in 19. Clinical and echocardiographic data followed for 1.5 to 3.5years were obtained. Results Postoperationally,the mid-term(1.5 years) follow-up was 100% completed and the long-term follow-up for 3. 5 years was 89. 9%. The recurrence of TV regurgitation (TR) of moderate and lower degree was not significantly different(χ2 = 1.3128, P= 0.26) in the 1.5 years follow-up between the two group,whereas the recurrence of TR of moderate to severity degree was significantly less in the ring group (χ2 =5. 8159,P =0.023).In the long term follow up,the TR in the ring group (25%) was significantly lower than that of 15% in the non-ring group (χ2 = 4. 9328, P = 0.036) . There are higher proportion of patients developing to moderate TR in the non ring group(34%) than in the ring group (10%) (χ2 =7. 9120,P =0.005). The TR developed fast in the ring group,increasing from 18% at 1.5 years follow up to 10% at 3.5 years follow up (χ2 = 2. 1327, P = 0.016),whereas it was relatively stable in the non-ring group,with 7% at 1.5 year follow up and 10% at 3.5 year follow up. Conclusions Placement of an annuloplasty ring in patients undergoing TV repair could remarkably improved the mid and long terum outcome. In clinic practice, we should be more positive to the functional TR and prefer to the procedure with annuloplasty ring.
5.Extended trochanteric osteotomy combined with long-stem cementless prosthesis in hip revision

BACKGROUND:Extraction of a wel fixed cementless femoral stem or a cemented stem is difficult during revision of total hip arthroplasty. The extended trochanteric osteotomy provides excellent methods, and combining with long-stem cementless prosthesis can better reduce postoperative complications.
OBJECTIVE:To retrospectively analyze the recent clinical curative effect after extended trochanteric osteotomy combined with long-stem cementless prosthesis in hip revision.
METHODA total of 25 patients undergoing hip revision were selected from the Department of Osteoarthrosis, Pingdingshan First People’s Hospital, China from May 2008 to May 2013. Of them, 17 patients were subjected to the extended trochanteric osteotomy combined with single-incision and double-approaches. The femurs were reconstructed with long-stem cementless prosthesis. Al patients were fol owed-up for 12 to 60 months. Pre-operative and post-operative Harris hip scores, the post-operative complications, the bone cutting length, the length of stem in contact with cortical bone, the length of the end of bone cutting to the end of the prosthesis were recorded.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:17 patients were fol owed-up. The mean length of bone was 17 cm (15-23 cm). The mean length of stem in contact with cortical bone was 6.4 cm (4-11 cm). The mean length of the end of bone to the end of the prosthesis was 11.5 cm (8-18.5 cm). After fol ow-up, the mean Harris hip scores were improved from (39.0 ± 13.6) scores preoperatively to (75.0 ± 14.9) scores postoperatively (P<0.01). Subsidence occurred in two hips. The cutting sites of 17 cases of extended trochanteric osteotomy were fixed wel . These data suggested that the operation through single-incision and double-approach to the hip, while preserving the attachment of the external rotators and posterior capsule, wil strength rear hip stability and prevent postoperative dislocations. Recent effects were satisfactory, but the long-term outcomes should be further investigated.
6.Histological analysis of chondrons isolated from age-related normal rabbit knee

Objective To explore the histological properties of isolated chondrons and chondrocytes from rabbit knee cartilage,and to determine if these properties vary with age.Methods Three groups of rabbit knees were evaluated according to different age:(1) young (2 months,n=10);(2) adult (8 months,n=10);and (3) old (31 months,n=10).The cartilage structure,proteoglycan,collagen-2,and collagen-6 content were determined by light microscopic using hematoxylin-eosin (HE),Toluidine Blue,and col-2,6 staining.The chondrons were enzymatically isolated using 0.3 g/L dispase and 0.2 g/L collagenase-2 by shaking for 3 hours.The morphology and composition of isolated chondrons were observed by HE and collagen-6 immunostaining staining after overnight coverslip monolayer culture under a microscopy.Results The chondrocytes became sparser and the total content of proteoglycans and collagen-2 were decreased in the articular cartilage with age.Compared to the chondrocytes,the surrounding rim or capsule was more obvious in the isolated chondrons,and they exhibited obvious differences in shape.The cells within one cluster from different age groups were similar to the morphology observed in cartilage in situ.The adult and old chondrons generally possessed a thicker pericellular matrix with more enclosed cells,and the chondrons contained more cells can reach 47%.Conclusion These findings further suggest that the properties of the chondrons and pericellular matrix have an important influence on the biomechanical microenvironment of the knee joint cartilage degeneration that occurs with age.
7.Advances of non-invasive detection of intracranial pressure

In recent years,with the increasement of intracranial pressure detection accuracy,the use of intracranial pressure detection in clinic become more common.Various of technologies are used in clinic that can be divided into invasive methods,such as epidural catheter,subarachnoid bolt,intraventricular catheter,fiberoptic catheter and micro-sensors transducer,and non-invasive methods,such as evoked otoacoustic emissions,transocular method,transcranial doppler,imaging method and magnetic induction method.This paper reviews the physiological basis of intracranial pressure detection and common intracranial pressure detection techniques,especially on noninvasive intracranial pressure detection methods.Advantages and disadvantages of different intracranial pressure detection methods are listed,and an outlook of the development of non-invasive intracranial pressure detection technology are made.
8.Clinical observation of Shenxiong glucose injection combined with lipo PGE1 injection in treatment of lower extremity arteriosclerotic occlusive disease

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy and safety of Shenxiong glucose injection and lipo PGE1 injection in treating the lower extremity arteriosclerotic occlusive disease (LEAOD).Methods 80 patients with LEAOD were randomly divided into control group and treatment group. Both groups were given conventional therapy, including reducing blood pressure, blood sugar, blood lipid and anti-infection therapy.Control group was additonally given intra-femoral arterial infusion with urokinase 150000 units plus 15mL 0.9% sodium chloride and 10 mg anisodamine alternately every other day, 5 days for one course, stopping 3 days after another course.Treatment group was treated with intravenous injection Lipo PGE1 injection plus 10 mL 0.9% sodium chloride and intravenous Shenxiong glucose injection per day for 14 days.Clinical efficacy, changes in clinical symptoms, whole blood viscosity, high sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP), fibrinogen, ankle-brachial index(ABI), the inner diameter of the dorsalis pedis and the peak systolic velocity( PSV) of dorsalis pedis were compared and analyzed pre and post-treatment.Adverse drug reactions were recorded during the treatment.ResuIts The efficiency for the patients in the treatment group (90.0%) was higher than that in control groups(72.5%) (P<0.05).The symptoms of numbness and cold limbs, whole blood viscosity, ABI, hs-CRP improved more significantly in the treatment group (P<0.05).No adverse event occurred in the treatment group and 2 patients in control group had mild dry mouth.ConcIusion Shenxiong glucose injection combined with lipo PGE1 injection for the treatment of LEAOD is effective and safe and should be introduced in clinical practice.
9.Clinical Investigation of Stenting for the Treatment of Carotid Stenosis with Filter Cerebral Protection Devices

Objective To investigate the safety and efficacy of carotid angioplasty and stenting(CAS)for the treatment of carotid stenosis with filter cerebral protection devices(CPD).Methods The filter CPD was used in treating carotid artery stenosis by angioplasty and stenting in 19 cases.Cerebral thromboembolic events were noted and the filter devices were observed.All patients were followed-up for short-term.Results The placement of filter CPD and CAS were successfully administered in all patients.Tissue debris could be found in 8 out of 19 with naked eyes in the CPD.There was no death or symptomatic cerebral thromboembolic events during theropy procedure.Short-term follow-up showed excellent results.Conclusion CAS under the filter CPD is a safe and effective method in treating carotid stenosis.The effect of long-term follow-up needs to be further observed and the materials need to be further improved.
10.Tranacranial color-coded and pulsed-Doppler sonographic evaluation of hemodynamics of the middle cerebral artery stenting

Objective To evaluate the hemodynamic changes in patients with middle cerebral artery (MCA) stenosis pre- and post-stenting by transcranial color-coded and pulsed-Doppler sonography.Methods Thirty patients with middle cerebral artery stenosis were included.Two-dimensional,color-coded and pulsed-Doppler sonography were used to monitor the morphologic and hemodynamic changes of the MCA before,in the middle of,and after the endovascular stenting operation.All patients were verified by digital substract angiography.Results The hyper-echoic stent grafts and also the size and location of the stent were clearly shown by two-dimensional ultrasonography in 28 patients.The systolic,diastolic and the timeaveraged maximal flow velocities significantly decreased both instantly and 3 - 7 d after the stenting.Specifically,the systolic peak flow velocity of the MCA dramatically decreased immediately after the stenting [(151.43 ± 25.14) cm/s vs (286.13 ± 57.38)cm/s,P <0.05],and showed a further decrease after 3 - 7 d [(108.80 ± 9.95) cm/s vs (151.43 ± 25.14) cm/s,P <0.05].Conclusions Transcranial color-coded and pulsed-Doppler sonography could be used to evaluate the hemodynamic changes after MCA stenting,and could be considered as the first choice of method for evaluating the therapeutic outcome of stenting.
