To observe possibility whether exfoliative cervical cell takes the place of cervical tissues for detection of human papilloma virus 16 and 18 types (HPV16 and HPV18). Polymerase chain reaction-restrictive fragment length polymorphism was used for analysis cervical tissues, single and double oxfoliative cervical cell samples of 127 cases of woman patients. Positive rates of HPV16 E6 Gene in single and double oxfoliative cervical cell are 34.64% and 40.73%, for HPV18 E6 gene 17.32% and 22.04%. In cervical tissues, 41.73% of HPV16 and 22.83% HPV18 special E6 genes was detected. There is no difference between cervical tissues and double oxfoliative cell samples. It is proved that double oxfoliative cervical cell sample can be used for detection of infection of HPV 16 and HPV 18 instead of cervical tissues.

The significant differences in prevalence rate of essential hypertension among the races in Xinjiang, i.e. in Kazakh, Han, and Uighur had been shown in 1979 screening. They were 6.6%, 3.5% and 2.6% respectively. The present investigation shows that some dietary constituents as well as the nutritional imbalance was involved in the causal effect in the development of hypertension.Three race people living in three quite different areas (geographic, climatic environmental conditions etc,) were investigated in April to July 1981. Blood pressures of 9,313 persons were measured. The dietary pattern and staple food items were studied for 491 persons within 69 families. The findings suggested that: l)the prevalence rate of hypertension was identical to the previous screening, 2) there was a positive correlation between the high consumption of protien (r= 0.974), fat(r = 0.622) and the prevalence rate of this disease, but a negative correlation in vitamin C intake (r = -0.620).The excessive intake of salt was accounted as a risk factor for poss- ible association with this disease only in Kazakh people who were living in various areas.

Objective:In this study, we established a reliable surgical procedure of lung ischaemia-reperfusion(IR) injury in rats. The research progress of different lung IR injury models and application value was also discussed.Methods:Twenty-eight adult SD rats were randomly divided into SHAM group and lung IR injury group(IR group), 14 rats in each group. In IR group, rats underwent tracheotomy under general anesthesia and received mechanical ventilation. Chest was opened in supine position, and pulmonary hilum was blocked for 30 minutes then the occlusion was removed. Samples were harvested after reperfusion for 45minutes. Rats in SHAM group received surgery and exposure of the right pulmonary artery, and experienced the same amount of time before the chest closed. Arterial blood gas was extracted postoperatively. Gross view of the lungs and pathological changes were observed, and the dry/wet ratio(W/D) was determined. Protein level of pro-inflammatory factors, markers in oxidative stress pathway, and endothelial functional markers in lung were tested by western blot analysis. Results:In IR group, there was pink foamy secretion in the airway, and the lungs exhibited signs of edema and congestion. In IR group, the alveolitis score was significantly increased, the W/D ratio was also increased, p38MAPK and NF-κB signaling pathways were activated, and the expression of TNF-α was significantly increased, while the expression of eNOS was significantly decreased. Conclusion:Left hilum clamping and bilateral reperfusion injury in lung is a practical animal model, it is a simple, low-cost and repeatable animal model for further studies. No microsurgical instruments were required during the procedure. Lung IR injury is characterized by oxidative stress response, inflammatory response and endothelial cell dysfunction.

With the widespread use of multi-slice spiral computed tomography(CT) and the increasing level of diagnosis and treatment, the incidence of pulmonary ground glass opacity(GGO) is increasing. The etiology of GGO is complex and the pathological types are diverse. In addition to benign lesions,GGO can be a specific type of lung adenocarcinoma or its invasive lesions. Some scholars think it is closely related to early lung adenocarcinoma.Histopathology of lung cancer is crucial for the prognosis and treatment of lung cancer. However, under normal circumstances, the pathology of the patient can be known by surgery, bronchoscopy or puncture. However, many patients may not have the pathological conditions for obtaining the pathological specimen.CT as the primary method of diagnosis of lung adenocarcinoma, lung adenocarcinoma in the new classification, based on the lung GGO CT findings to determine its ability to provide a characteristic indicator of tumor histopathology in order to help GGO diagnosis and guidance of clinical treatment.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the safety and efficacy of topical application of recombinant bovine basic fibroblast growth factor (rbFGF) on the healing of chronic cutaneous wounds.
METHODSTwenty-eight patients with thirty-three chronic cutaneous wounds resulting from trauma, diabetes mellitus, pressure sore and radiation injuries were enrolled in this prospective, open-label crossover trial. Prior to treatment with rbFGF, all wounds failed to heal with conventional therapies within 4 weeks. All wounds were locally treated with rbFGF at a dose of 150 AU/cm(2). Healing time and the quality of wounds were used to evaluate the efficacy of the treatment.
RESULTSHealing of all chronic wounds was expedited. During the study, eighteen wounds completely healed within 2 weeks, four healed within 3 weeks, and another eight completely healed within 4 weeks. Only three wounds failed to heal within 4 weeks, but healed at 30, 40 and 42 days after treatment with rbFGF. Thus, compared with conventional therapies, the effective rate of rbFGF treatment within 4 weeks was 90.9%. Histological assessment showed more abundant capillary sprouts or tubes and that fibroblasts were differentiated in wounds treated with rbFGF. No adverse side effects related to basic fibroblast growth factor were observed.
CONCLUSIONSOur results indicate that rbFGF could be used to accelerate healing in chronic wounds. It is our belief that this may be a more effective method of chronic wound management.

Objective To compare a novel mirror-overlap method with the traditional manual measurement and the subjective assessment in assessing breast symmetry after oncoplastic surgery. Methods 59 patients with breast cancer who underwent conservation/reconstruction surgery were recruited. The post-operative assessment for breast symmetry was conducted using manual measurement, subjective assessment by the patient, their family member and a nurse, and the mirror-overlap method respectively. The latter method involved using the Photoshop to assess the area differences in breast outlines and shadows created by a flashlight when bilateral images were overlapped in the axis of midline. Results The distance differences between bilateral breasts measured using manual method were negatively correlated with symmetric coefficients in the mirror-overlap method (P<0.05).There was a positive correlation between the average scores in the subjective assessment and symmetric coefficients of mirror-overlap method (P<0.05).Conclusion The mirror-overlap method is an easy, feasible and cheap method which collects 3D breast information and provides an effective approach to assess breast symmetry after oncoplastic surgery.
