Feature extraction of event related potential (ERP) plays an important part in both fundamental and clinical researches for cerebral neurophysiology.Based on the prior knowledge of feature distribution of ERP,this paper introduces an approach to feature extraction of ERP from composite EEG,which is combined with wavelet multiresolution analysis (MRA) and radial basis function neural network (RBFNN).The components related to low-frequency response can be extracted from the wavelet decomposition coefficients by RBFNN.Then signal reconstruction is implemented to obtain the feature of ERP.Experimental result demonstrates that the approach is reliable.

BACKGROUND: As the result of estrogen shortage due to ovariectomy, osteoporosis occursin the general and local bones, displaying bone loss and changes in bone microstructure and growth factor mRNA expression, which definitely has an important effect on fracture healing. OBJECTIVE: To probe into the effect of estrogen on bone microstructure and bone morphogenetic protein-4 mRNA expression and location during fracture healing. DESIGN: Randomized controlled study. SETTING:Laboratory of the Department of Molecular Biology of Yunnan University. MATERIALS: This study was conducted at the laboratory of Molecular Biology Department of Yunnan University between July 1999 and July 2002. We recruited 96 healthy female SD rats of 2 months old and with the mean body mass of 160 to 200 g. METHODS:①Of the 96 rats that received intraperitoneal anesthesia, 48rats were subjected to bilateral ovariectomy(osteoporotic group), and the other 48 rats received sham operation (control group). One month later, bilateral tibia fracture at the middle segment was artificially made on all rats under anesthesia, and no treatment was given so as to prepare fracture healing model. Then rats of both groups were put to death for collecting callus and the surrounding parenchyma at postoperative 1, 3, 5, 7, 14, 28,56 and 112 days, with 6 rats in each time point. ② The tibia bone microstructure was observed under electron microscope. ③ The mRNA expression of bone morphogenetic protein-4 at callus and the surrounding paranchyma was detected by RT-PCR method; no probe in hybrid fluid was used as negative controls. Six in situ hybridization slices with positive expression were selected from both groups at postoperative 1 and 3 days time points, and 3 visual fields were randomly selected from each slice for observing the positive granules under 25 times field lens. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: ①The tibia bone microstructure;② bone morphogenetic protein-4 mRNA expression at callus and the surrounding parenchyma. RESULTS: All the 96 rats entered the final results analysis. ① Observation of the tibia bone microstructure: at 28 days after tibia fracture, osseous callus and ostein fibers were found arranged densely in control group. Osteocytes, small with fewer cytoplasts, were observed in osseous lacuna, but osteoclasts were found surrounding small-sized bone trabecula. In osteoporotic group, fibrous callus and collagenous fibers in bone matrix were arranged loosely, lots of big osteoblasts could be observed with osteocytes easily seen. ② Bone morphogenetic protein-4 mRNA expression at callus and the surrounding parenchyma: it was less expressed in control group than in osteoporotic group at postoperative 1 to 3 days (23.714 3±5.056 8,21.714 3±5.023 8 vs 51.285 7±8.138 7,49.571 4±9.071 1, P < 0.01) and the expression was mainly observed in parenchyma surrounding the fracture where callus was formed. CONCLUSION: Bone morphogenetic protein-4 mRNA expression is increased in osteoporotic group and is mainly observed in parenchyma surrounding the fracture, displaying a manner of regional expression. However, the formation and quality of callus matrix during fracture are obviously poorer than in control group.

Journal of Third Military Medical University 1984;0(02):-
The regional blood flow measurement (RBFM)of lenghtened limb with a peripheral circulation mesuremnt system was carried ou t in 20 rabbits after their tibia was lengthened in different lengthening rates. It was found that whenever a limb was lengthened with a rate over 1 mm/day,the RBFM of the lengthened limb decreased rapidly and returned to preoperative level 8 hours later. It is believed that the vascular and muscular tissues of a limb possess good adaptive capcity to the lengthening rate of 1 mm/day,When the lengthening rate exceeds 1 mm/day,it is liable to result in a significant re-duct of regional blood flow, and then atrophy and weakening of the muscles will occur.

Objective:To investigate the differences in the expression levels of miR-196a-5p and miR-105-5p in serum of patients with benign and malignant pulmonary nodules and their diagnostic value of malignant pulmonary nodules. Methods:The expression levels of miRNAs in cancer tissues of lung adenocarcinoma and lung squamous cell carcinoma and paracancerous tissues in The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database were analyzed, and the miRNAs with significantly different expression levels in cancer tissues and paracancerous tissues were selected as target miRNAs. A total of 72 patients with pulmonary nodules admitted to Weifang People′s Hospital of Shandong Province from June 2019 to July 2020 were selected. The expression levels of target miRNAs in serum of patients with pulmonary nodules were detected by qRT-PCR. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to compare the diagnostic value of target miRNAs with tumor markers Cyfra21-1, NSE and CEA in malignant pulmonary nodules. Results:After screening, the target miRNAs were identified as miR-196a-5p and miR-105-5p. Twenty-six patients in the benign pulmonary nodules group and 46 patients in the malignant pulmonary nodules group were included. The levels of serum miR-196a-5p [ M ( P25, P75)] in the benign and malignant nodules group were 0.63 (0.09, 2.15) and 1.93(0.93, 4.97) respectively, and the levels of miR-105-5p in the two groups were 2.03 (0.54, 7.95) and 10.65 (5.94, 18.39) respectively. Compared with the benign pulmonary nodules group, the levels of serum miR-196a-5p and miR-105-5p in the malignant pulmonary nodules group were increased, and there were statistically significant differences ( Z=-3.083, P=0.002; Z=-4.092, P<0.001). The levels of serum Cyfra21-1 in the benign and malignant pulmonary nodules group were 2.48 (1.84, 3.78) and 2.20 (1.47, 3.32) μg/L respectively, the levels of serum NSE in the two groups were 15.58 (12.45, 18.95) and 14.43 (12.07, 17.87) μg/L respectively, and the levels of serum CEA in the two groups were 1.16 (0.55, 2.11) and 1.17 (0.61, 1.68) μg/L respectively. There were no significant differences in serum Cyfra21-1, NSE and CEA between the benign and malignant pulmonary nodules group ( Z=-1.161, P=0.246; Z=-0.305, P=0.761; Z=-0.271, P=0.786). The area under the curve (AUC) of the combination of miR-196a-5p and miR-105-5p for the diagnosis of malignant pulmonary nodules was 0.762 (sensitivity 89.1%, specificity 61.5%), which was higher than the value of the combination of Cyfra21-1, NSE and CEA for the diagnosis of malignant pulmonary nodules (AUC=0.591, sensitivity 58.7%, specificity 64.5%). Conclusion:The combination of serum miR-196a-5p and miR-105-5p can assist in the diagnosis of malignant pulmonary nodules and has higher diagnostic value.

Objective To investigate the effect of sevoflurane preconditioning-postconditioning on thromboxane A2 and prostaglandin I2 during myocardial ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) in rats. Methods Fifty healthy male Wistar rats weighing 250-280 g were randomly divided into 5 groups (n = 10 each) : sham operation group (group S) , I/R group, sevoflurane preconditioning group (group Spr), sevoflurane postconditioning group (group Spo)and combination of sevoflurane preconditioning and postconditioning group (group Spr + po). Myocardial I/R was produced by occlusion of anterior descending branch of left coronary artery for 30 min followed by 2 h reperfusion in anesthetized rats. In group S the anterior descending branch was only exposed but not ligated. Group Spr received 15 min inhalation of 2.5 % sevoflurane and 15 min wash-out 30 min before ischemia. Group Spo received 5 min inhalation of 2.5% sevoflurane 1 min before reperfusion. Arterial blood samples were taken at 2 h of reperfusion for determination of the levels of MB isoenzyme of creatine kinase (CK-MB) , lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) , cardiac troponin I (cTnI), thromboxane B2(TXB2), and 6-keto-prostaglandin (6-keto-PGF1α) and platelet maximum aggregation rate. TXB2/6-keto-PGF1α ratio was calculated. The myocardial tissues were taken for microscopic examination. Mitochondria] injury was assessed by using Flameng score and stereology (Specific surface, δ and Numerical density on area, NA) .Results Compared with group S, the levels of CK-MB, LDH, cTnI, TXE2 and 6-ketoPGF1α, TXB2/6-keto-PGF1α ratio, platelet maximum aggregation rate and Flameng score were significantly increased, while δ and NA were significantly decreased in group I/R (P < 0.05 or 0.01) . The levels of CK-MB,LDH and cTnI, TXB2/6-keto-PGF1α ratio and Flameng score were significantly lower, and 6-keto-PGF1α level, δand NA were significantly higher in Spr and Spo groups than in group I/R ( P < 0.05 or 0.01) . The levels of CKMB, LDH, cTnI and TXB2 , TXB2/6-keto-PGF1α ratio, platelet maximum aggregation rate and Flameng score were significantly lower and 6-keto-PGF1α level,δ and NA were significantly higher in group Spr + po than in Spr and Spo groups(P < 0.05). Conclusion Sevoflurane preconditioning-postconditioning can reduce myocardial I/R injury through inhibiting the release of thromboxane A2 and promoting the release of prostaglandin I2 in rats.

Objective To investigate the role of acid-sensing ion channels (ASICs) in global cerebral ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury in rats. Methods Forty-eight adult male Sprague-Dawley rats weighing 250-310 g were randomly divided into 4 groups ( n = 12 each): sham operation group (group S); global cerebral I/R group (group I/R); normal saline group (group NS) and specific ASIC blocker amiloride group (group A). Global cerebral I/R was produced by occlusion of 3 vessels ( 10 min occlusion of the bilateral common carotid arteries and basilar artery) followed by reperfusion. In group NS and A, NS 6 ml/kg and amiloride 0.6 mg/kg were injected through femoral vein immediately before reperfusion respectively. Six rats in each group were selected, the dialysate in CA1 area was collected before ischemia (baseline), immediately after ischemia and during 20 min reperfusion (once every 10 min) for determination of lactate concentrations. The left 6 rats in each group were elected at 8 h of reperfusion and the open field test and inclined plane test were peeformed to assess neurological behavior. The rats were then sacrificed and brain tissues taken for microscopic examination and brain water content was calculated. Results Compared with group S, the concentration of lactate in the dialysate and brain water content were significantly increased and neurological deficits developed in group I/R and NS (P < 0.05). Compared with group I/R, the concentration of lactate in the dialysate and brain water content were significantly decreased and neurological deficits were improved in group A ( P < 0.05 ), but no significant change in the parameters mentioned above was found in group NS ( P > 0.05). Microscopic examination showed that the damage to the brain tissues was attenuated in group A compared with group I/R. Conclusion ASICs are involved in the development of global cerebral I/R injury in rats.

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP) with percutaneous kyphoplasty (PKP) in the treatment of osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture(OVCF) by systematic review. Methods From September 2005 to March 2009,46 cases of fresh OVCF were treated. Patients were divided into 2 groups (A, B), according to Jikei grade, Genant semiquantitative method, injury vertebra number. Twenty-five cases(group A)were treated by PVP,8 males and 17 females with the age of 52 - 78 years (average 69). Vertebra segment of fracture was within T6 - L5 (14 in case thoracical vertebrae and 11 lumbar vertebrae). Twenty-one cases(group B)were treated by PKP,There were 6 males and 15 females with the age of 54 - 82 years (average 71). Vertebra segment of fracture was within T6 - L4 (12 in case thoracical vertebrae and 9 lumbar vertebrae). The clinical efficacy, incidence rate of complication, the anterior height of vertebrae body, visual analogue pain scale(VAS) ,ease of pain were measured preoperatively and at 6 weeks, 3 and 6 months and 1 year postoperatively between the two groups. Results All the patients were followed up for 12 -45 months with an average of 23.5 months. The average recovery of anterior height of vertebrae body was respectively(85.95 ± 4.31) % in group A and (93.64 ± 3.35) % in group B,which statistically difference in vertebral height between two groups (P < 0.05). No statistical significant difference was seen in VAS, analgesic durg (AID) and ease of pain complication between two groups (P >0. 05). Statistical significant difference was noted in pre-postoperatively between intra-two groups (P <0. 05). Conclusions PVP and PKP can quickly relieve pain and enhance vertebral stability in treating thoracolumbar OVCF according to evaluation parameter, and have the similar therapeutic efficacy in treatment of OVCF with minimal invasion. However, PKP is superior in the recovery of vertebral height.

Histone methyltransferase SMYD3 (SET and MYND domain containing 3) is a protein which has the function of histone methylation found in recent years,it has an important role in transcriptional regulation. The research shows that SMYD3 inhibit apoptosis and promote cell proliferation, invasion and metastasis.More and more data shows SMYD3 highly expressed in liver cancer and is low in normal tissues which is even undetectable.SMYD3 level was significantly associated with prognosis, and gene silencing experiments in SMYD3 tumor cell growth was inhibited.Therefor,SMYD3 is closely related with the development and prognosis of HCC occurrence, which suggests that people can suppress the expression SMYD3 to block tumor cell growth, migration and improve prognosis to provide new goals and direction for the future of cancer treatment.
