Objective To investigate the mechanism of tazarotene in active psoriasis vulgaris. Methods HB-EGF mRNA in active psoriatic lesions before and 10 days after the treatment with tazarotene was detected by hybridization in situ. Results There was nearly no expression of HB-EGF mRNA in psoriatic lesions (9.1%); after the treatment with tazarotene, there was expression of HB-EGF not only in basal layer (95.5%), but also focal expression in suprabasal layers of epidermis (77.3%). Conclusion Tazarotene can inhibit proliferation and induce apoptosis of keratinocytes though upregulating expression of HB-EGF in psoriatic epidermis.

Objective To investigate the role of heparin binding epidermal growth factor-like growth factor(HB-EGF)in active psoriasis vulgaris. Methods HB-EGF mRNA and protein were detected by hy-bridization in situ and immunohistochemistry in normal skin tissues, lesional and non-lesional psoriatic skin of progressive stage. Results In normal skin tissues, the stain of HB-EGF mRNA and protein was located in the basal layer of epidermis(100.00%)and there was only a little expression in the suprabasal layers(16.67%).Focal overexpression was found in the suprabasal layers of non-lesional and peri-lesional psoriat-ic skin(88.00%,80.00%respectively);however,there was no HB-EGF mRNA protein expression in the superabasal layers of the central part of psoriatic lesions(0),and nearly no expression in the basal layer(4.00%).Conclusion HB-EGF may play an important role in the pathogenesis of early psoriasis.

Objective To investigate the alteration of cell proliferation and heparin-binding epidermal-growth-factor-like growth factor(HB-EGF)mRNA expression in cultured normal human keratinocytes after acitretin treatment. Methods After a 12-hour incubation with 0.1 and 1 ?mol/L acitretin in normal human keratinocytes, the proliferation potency of the cells was detected by MTT colorimetric assay and the expression of HB-EGF mRNA was examined by real-time quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR).Results Both keratinocytes growth inhibition and HB-EGF mRNA expression was dose-dependently induced by acitretin.Treatment with 0.1 and 1 ?mol/L acitretin inhibited keratinocyte proliferation by 10.2% and 14.4%,and elevated HB-EGF mRNA by 3.2-and 7.1-fold,respectively.Conclusion Upregulated HB-EGF mRNA expression induced by acitretin in normal human keratinocytes may be involved in regulating keratinocyte growth inhibition after acitretin treatment.

Objective To observe the effect of Natural mountain spring on oxidative damage of aging mice . Methods Thirty male aging mice were randomly divided into experimental group ( drink Natural mountain spring ) and control group ( drink tap water ) according to the level of MDA .The serum in the two groups was taken for T-SOD activity and MDA content analysis after two months .Results The MDA content in experimental group decreased markedly than that in control group .Conclusion Natural mountain spring could alleviate oxidative damage by free radicals to extent .

Objective: To evaluate the effect of echocardiography for occluding the multiple seconded atria1 septal defects ( MASD) in relevant patients.
Methods: A total of 42 MASD patients were selected by transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) or transesophageal echocardiography (TEE). The transcatheter closure was monitored by TTE and X-ray, the effect of treatment was evaluated by TTE, ECG and chest X-ray at 24 hours and 1, 3, 6 months after the procedure. There were 38 patients with 2 defects, 3 with many central small defects and 1 with 3 defects. The patients included 17 male and 25 female with the mean age of (32.6 ± 13.4) years.
Results: The size and distance of the defects were measured with 4 cardiac chambers cross sectional study. The mean diameter of bigger defect from up to down was (9-27) mm, with the mean of (20.7 ± 6.1) mm, from front to back was (8-23) mm, with the mean of (16.9 ± 5.7) mm;the mean diameter of small defect from up to down was (3-12) mm, with the mean of (6.8 ± 3.6) mm. The length of the defect interva1 was (4-18) mm, with the mean of (7.9 ± 2.6) mm. There were 4 patients with 2 defect interval at 8.7 mm who received 2 occluders without post-operative lfow shunt. The rest 38 patients received 1 Amplatzer occluder which was (14-36) mm with the mean of (25.1 ± 6.4) mm which was (6.9 ± 1.7) mm larger than echocardiographic prediction. The success rate of implantation was 100%. There were 17 (40.5%) patients with post-operative lfow shunt. The patients were followed-up for (6-36) months, with the mean of 18.7 months, there were 11 (26.2%) patients with small amount of lfow shunt at 3 months after the operation.
Conclusion: Echocardiography is important for choosing the type and size of occluder devices, in-operative monitoring and post-operative effect evaluation for treating the ASD patients.

Objective To investigate the effects of mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)on the pathological structure and cytokine expression of lung tissue in septic model of diabetic rats. Methods Diabetic rats were ran-domly divided into control,sham-operation,sepsis and MSC-treated groups. The diabetic model was induced by high-sucrose and high-fat diet combined with streptozotocin and cecal ligation and puncture. The pathological changes of lung tissue were observed at 6,12,18 and 24 hours after operation respectively, and the expression of SP-D,TNF-α,IFN-γ and IL-10 in lungs were measured. Results The levels of SP-D,TNF-α and IFN-γ in lung tissue increased gradually with the elongation of time after CLP. The expression of IL-10 in lung tissue increased and then decreased. The trend of MSC intervention increased the content of SP-D,TNF-α and IL-10 in the lung tissue of non-diabetic septic rat model and reduced the content of IFN-γ.MSC intervention reduced the SP-D and TNF-α content. The intervention of MSC had no effect on the content of IFN-γ in the lung tissue of diabetic septic rats. However,it increased and then decreased the content of IL-10.Conclusions The model of sepsis in diabetic rats can be established by feeding combined high-sugar and high-fat diet and streptozotocin combined with cecal ligation and puncture. Mesenchymal stem cells affect sepsis inflammation and organ damage. But its specific role depends on the immune status and the timing of mesenchymal stem cell selection.
