1.Transient receptor potential channels 6 in tumor
Journal of International Oncology 2011;38(9):656-659
Transient receptor potential (TRP) is a kind of novel Ca2+ permeant channel. It is later found that TRP channels are expressed broadly in many organisms, tissues and cell types. It is involved in the regulation of sensory conduction and cell signal transduction.Further studies are required to assess which TRPC6(a member of TRPC subfamily) is associated with the cytosolic Ca2+ levels, development and progression of cancer and tumor cell cycle.TRPC6 may be regarded as new targets for the treatment of cancer.

BACKGROUND:Internal fixation methods for traditional proximal clavicle fractures and sternoclavicular joint dislocation include Kirschner wire, Kirschner wire with tension band, clavicular hook plate and ordinary T-shaped plate fixation. However, al of these are easy to fal off, damage nerves and blood vessels and affect the fine motion of the sternoclavicular joint. OBJECTIVE:To investigate the therapeutic effects of internal fixation with T-shaped stainless steel locking plate on proximal clavicular fractures and sternoclavicular joint dislocation as wel as to observe the biocompatibility of materials with the host. METHODS: Twelve patients with proximal clavicular fractures and sternoclavicular joint dislocation were enroled at Shanxian Central Hospital from March 2011 to January 2014, including seven cases of proximal clavicular fractures and five cases of sternoclavicular joint dislocation. Al of patients were subject to open reduction and internal fixation with T-shaped locking plate. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Al the 12 patients were folowed up for 3-14 months, with an average of 9 months. Al incisions healed wel, with no local eminence. No major substernal blood vessels and organ damage occurred. X-ray films showed that fractures healed without further dislocation and steel plate fracture. At the last folow-up, Rockwood scoring system showed that the excelent rate of shoulder function was 100%. These findings indicate that the internal fixation with stainless steel T-shaped locking plate is reliable and effective in the treatment of proximal clavicle fractures and sternoclavicular joint dislocation, with low risks and satisfactory outcomes, by which, patients can maximize the recovery of shoulder function.

Objective To investigate the protective effect of recombinant mouse OP 1 (rmOP 1) on renal ischemia reperfusion injury. Methods The full length open reading frame of mouse OP 1 was cloned by RT PCR. The rmOP 1 was prepared and its osteogenesis was assayed in vitro. Thirty Wistar rat models of renal ischemia reperfusion were randomly divided into 3 groups: preventive group, therapeutic group and control group. The former two groups were administered with rmOP 1 (250 ?g/kg) via the superior mesenteric vein at different time points. The renal function and structure were assessed by serum BUN, Cr, histological findings and the modified Miller's scoring. Results rmOP 1 showed osteoinductive activities in vitro. The level of serum BUN, Cr and Miller's scoring were higher in control group than the others ( P 0.05 ). Histological finding showed that rmOP 1 minimized the cell necrosis. Conclusion rmOP 1 has an protective effect on renal function and structure.

With the combined interruption of the superior mesenteric vein, the splenic artery and vein and the portal vein, we successfully separated the adhesion between the collum pancreatis and the portal vein which is difficult to separate in 8 cases During the separation, the portal vein was damaged in 2~5 parts, and the size of wounds of vein were of 2~6mm in length, but the amount of bleeding was small and the bleeding speed was slow All the wounds were easily repaired under direct vision We consider that the mothod of the combined interruption is safe and effective for the separation of the adhesion between the collum pancreatis and the portal vein, and is helpful to increasing the success rate of removing carcinoma of the head of pancreases The interruption is safe for 20~25 minutes under normothermia

Objective Embryonic neuroepithelial cells (NEC) were transplanted into the brains of Parkinson disease rats, the survival and differentiation of NEC were investigated. Methods Embryonic rats (E11) were obtained from the pregnant Wistar rats. Neuroepithelial cells were dissociated from embryonic neural tube and treated with 0^25% trypsin, then transplanted them into the striatum of Parkinson disease (PD) rats stereotaxicly. Coronal sections of the brain were made in cryostat. The survival of transplant neuroepithelial cells and tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) expression of some NEP were examined by immunocytochemical technique, also the rotation behavior was tested following different time of transplantation. Results Some grafts were found survived well and some TH-positive cells could be detected in the core of graft region. NEP transplantation could also partly improve the symptoms of PD rats. Conclusion The results demonstrate that embryonic stem cells dissociated from neural tube can survive and differentiate into dopaminergic neurons. NECs contribute to the behavioral recovery.
