This paper was to observe the revaccination effect of domestic yeast-derived recombinant hepatitis B vaccine (YRHBV) to children who were born to HBsAg and HBeAg negative mothers and had been immunized with full course of blood-derived hepatitis B vaccine 4 years ago at their birth. The treated group was revaccinated with 5μg YRHBV while the control group with 10μg blood-derived HB vaccine, their anti-HBs response was determined 1,12,24 months after revaccination. The results showed that a nice anti-HBs response was discovered in group A childeren, no matter how about the anti-HBs level before revaccination was. The kinetics of anti-HBs after YDHBV revaccination was similar to that of the blood-derived HB vaccine, no statistical difference was found. So, 5μg of domestic yeast-derived recombinant HB vaccine gave same immune effect as well as 10μg blood-derived HB vaccine.

Objective To evaluate the clinic effect of a hybrid technique of laser and foam sclerosant in treating varicose vein of the lower extremity. Methods From April 2009 to April 2013,hybird operation of endovenous laser combined with foam sclerosant was carrird out in 126 patients with lower extremity varicosities.A total 175 diseased legs were treated.Catheter guidewire techniques was performed first in placing optical fiber below saphenous vein flap, which was followed by laser ablation for the great saphenous vein, then foam sclerotherapy were used for greater saphenous vein trunk 4 cm below tibial tubercle and the superficial varicose veins with diameter less than 6 mm.All patients were followed up for 3-24 months. The operation time, average hospitalization days, patients quality of life score, curative effect and complications were analyzed.CT angiography in the evaluation of occlusion of varicose vein of lower limbs trunk and recurrence were performed at the time of discharge and three months later respectively. Results Hybrid operation of endovenous laser treatment and foam sclerosant was successfully performed in all cases. The procedure time for a single leg was (32 ± 7) minutes; the quality of life score and the hospitalization after procedure was (4.2 ± 1.8) days and (40 ± 7) score respectively.CT angiography at discharge and 3 months later revealed that 97 (55.42%) and 111 (63.42%) limbs varicose veins disappeared respectively,78 (44.57%),64 (36.57%) lower limb varicose veins was reduced respectively,143 (81.71%),158 (90.28%) great saphenous vein trunk were in emphraxis respectively and 32 (18.28%),17 (9.71%) great saphenous vein lumen were narrowed. No vascular recanalization was found. The complications included saphenous nerve injury in 5 cases, soft tissue infection in 5 cases, calf skin burn in 11 cases, local funicular patches nodules in 32 cases, edema in 16 cases, subcutaneous hematoma in 10 cases. No complications such as pulmonary embolism, and deep venous thrombosis happened. Conclusions For the treatment of lower extremity varicosities, hybrid operation of laser and foam sclerosant ablation have high limb cure rate, less operation time and complications.

Objective To investigate the effect of Avastin (bevacizumab) combined with preoperative FOLFOX neoadjuvant chemotherapy on the prognosis of patients with locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC).MethodsA total of 80 cases of patients with LARC treated with total mesorectal excision (TME) in our hospital from January 2013 to January 2016 were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group, 40 cases in each group. The control group were treated with preoperative FOLFOX chemotherapy while the observation group were treated with bevacizumab injection, based on the treatment in the control group.21 days was a cycle of chemotherapy, and both groups were treated for at least 4 cycles. After 6 cycles of chemotherapy, operation was carried out, following TEM principle. The short-term and long-term prognosis, rate of R0 resection, the incidence of postoperative complications and side effects of chemotherapy were compared between the two groups.ResultsThere was no significant difference between the two groups in the good response rate of chemotherapy, the rate of R0 resection, the incidence of postoperative complications, the 1-year and 3-year survival rates and 1-year disease-free survival rate. The incidence rates of gastrointestinal reactions and bone marrow suppression in the observation group were 52.5% and 52.5%, respectively while in the control group were 25.0% and 20.0%, respectively (P<0.05), but there was no significant difference in the incidence rates of grade Ⅲ~Ⅳ gastrointestinal reaction and bone marrow suppression between the observation group and the control group (5.0% and 15.0% vs 2.5% and 5.0%).The 3-year disease-free survival rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group (82.5% vs 60.0%) (P<0.05).ConclusionThe application of bevacizumab combined with preoperative FOLFOX chemotherapy in the treatment of LARC can improve the 3-year disease-free survival rate, without increasing postoperative adverse reactions and serious side effects of chemotherapy.

Objective To explore the effects of exercise on the levels of neurotrophin-3 (NT-3) in the skeletal muscles of streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats. Methods The rats were divided into an 8-week exercise group (A), a 4-week exercise group (B), a diabetes control group (C), an exercise group (D) in which no dia-betes was induced, and a control group (E). The rat model of diabetes was induced in the rats of groups A, B and C by intra-abdominal injection of streptozotocin (STZ) at 55 mg/kg. The exercising rats were forced to swim for 60 minutes once daily, 5 days a week. The levels of NT-3 in skeletal muscles were measured with an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Cadual nerve conduction velocity (CNCV) in all of the rats was evaluated at the beginning, and after 4 and 8 weeks of swimming exercise. Results NT-3 levels in the skeletal muscles in group C were sig-nificantly lower than in groups A, D and E. There was no statistically significant difference in NT-3 levels between groups B and C. The NT-3 levels showed a significant positive correlation with CNCV at the 8th week. Conclu-sions The increase in NT-3 levels of skeletal muscles induced by exercise could contribute partially to the im-provement of diabetic neuropathy.

BACKGROUND:Retinoic acid signaling pathways is very important in the formation pf nervous system, specialization of neurons and outgrowth of axons. The recent studies show that, retinoic acid plays an important role in the process of axonal regeneration, but few research reports its exact molecular mechanism.
OBJECTIVE:To analyze and summarize the mechanism underlying retinoic acid signaling pathways in the process of axonal regeneration.
METHODS:A computer-based online research was conducted among the VIP, CNKI, PubMed, BioMed Centeral, Springer, The Free Medical Journals, EBSCO and Foreign Journals Integration System between January 2000 and December 2013, with the key words of“retinoic acid, the central nervous system, nerve damage, axon regeneration, and mechanism”in Chinese and English. A total of 43 studies addressing the molecular mechanism of retinoic acid in axonal regeneration were screened. According to the supplementary documents, another five references were added. Repetitive research and atypical reports were excluded.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Fol owing acute central nervous system injury, axonal regeneration and functional recovery are extremely limited. For proper functionality fol owing injury, axons must regrow, reinnervate their targets, and remyelinate their axons. When the central nervous system injuries occur, retinoic acid signaling pathways express transcription factor retinoic acid receptorβ2 to induce axonal regeneration fol owing injury;in dorsal root ganglion neurons, cAMP levels are greatly increased by lentiviral retinoic acid receptorβ2 expression and contribute to neurite outgrowth. More recently, retinoic acid-retinoic acid receptorβ2 pathways directly transcriptional y repress a member of the inhibitory Nogo receptor complex, Lingo-1, under an axonal growth inhibitory environment in vitro as wel as fol owing spinal cord injury in vivo. Through these molecular mechanisms, retinoic acid signaling pathways play its important role in the process of axonal regeneration.
