Journal of Regional Anatomy and Operative Surgery 2014;(6):591-593
Objective To explore an effective and hidden incision scar method for epicanthus correction. Methods 80 patients of bi-lateral single eyelid with epicanthus were divided into group A,group B and group C. Twenty-five patients with 50 eyes of group A received“Z” plasty correction of epicanthus,25 cases with 50 eyes of group B received the traditional“Y-V” plasty correction of epicanthus,30 cases with 60 eyes of group C treated with modified “Y-V” plasty correction of epicanthus. The curative effective was observed. Results Three groups were followed up for 6~24 months, the appearances of 25 patients in group A were significantly improved,of whom 2 cases had uni-lateral recurrence,8 cases with obvious postoperative scar. The eyelid shapes of patients in group B were natural after surgery,12 cases with obvious scar. all patients in group C were found no postoperative hypertrophic scars. Conclusion The three surgical treatment were effec-tive for epicanthus, but the design approaches of“Z” plasty correction and“Y-V” plasty correction are more complex, and postoperative scar is obvious, meanwhile the modified “Y-V” plasty correction is simple with incision hidden good shape scar formation.

Objective To assess the mortality and risk factors for stroke among dialysis patients with different dialysis modality. Methods 590 patients who underwent hemodialysis (HD) or peritoneal dialysis (PD) from January 2008 to December 2012 were recruited in our study, and categorized according to dialysis modality. The prognostic risks of stroke were hazard ratio of risk was calculated by Cox regression analysis in HD and PD patients respectively. by the Kaplan?Meier curves or the Cox proportional hazards model. Results A total of 590 patients is under a median follow?up of 32.5 months. The stroke incidence rate of 49.2/1, 000 patient?years in total patients, and 74.1/1, 000 patient?years in HD patients, which was significantly higher compared with that of 31.8/1,000 patient?years in PD patients. On multivariate analysis, independent predictors of stroke occurrence were age(HR=1.05;95%CI:1.02~1.09;P=0.003)、diabete(HR=1.98;95%CI:1.31~3.46;P=0.001)、CVD(HR=2.06;95%CI:1.62-3.05;P < 0.001)、Total triglycerides(HR = 1.20; 95% CI:1.08-1.58; P = 0.034) and hemodialysis (HR = 2.03; 95% CI:1.46-3.89; P = 0.005). Conclusions Age, diabete, CVD, total triglycerides and hemodialysis are independently associated with increased stroke risks in dialysis patients, which suggest that these patients should pay attention to weight control and glucose control.

AIM: To investigate in vitro effects of cholecystokinin octapeptide(CCK-8) on the expressions of B7.1 and B7.2 and the costimulatory activity of T lymphocytes in unstimulated macrophages.METHODS: Mouse peritoneal macrophages were isolated and incubated with CCK-8(10-12-10-6 mol/L) for indicated time. The B7.1 and B7.2 expressions of murine peritoneal macrophages were analyzed by flow cytometry.CD4+T cells were isolated from mouse spleen using immunomagnetic beads, and cultured with 1/4 numbers of macrophages which were pretreated with CCK-8 and/or anti-B7.1 antibody,anti-B7.2 antibody,CCK1R antagonist CR1409,CCK2R antagonist CR2945 for 24 h.ConA was added into the culture medium to stimulate CD4+T cell proliferation. The proliferation was determined by measuring -TdR incorporation in a ?-scintillation counter.RESULTS: B7.1 and B7.2 expressions and costimulatory activity of peritoneal macrophages were enhanced by CCK-8 in a dose-dependent manner, and the maximal effects occurred at the concentrations of 10-9 mol/L to 10-7 mol/L.Anti-B7.2 antibody, but not anti-B7.1 antibody, reduced the modulatory role of CCK-8 on costimulatory activity. Both CR1409 and CR2945 reversed the effect of CCK-8 on costimulation, and the role of CR1409 was more significant.CONCLUSION: CCK-8 enhances macrophage costimulatory activity by upregulating B7.2 expression, which is mediated by CCK1R and CCK2R.CCK1R might be the major receptor responsible for the modulation of CCK-8 on costimulation.
