Objective To explore the relationship between serum 25 (OH)D level and cognitive function in patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD).Methods Totally 113 AD impatients were enrolled in this study.Their serum 25 (OH) D2,25 (OH) D3,and total 25 (OH) D levels were determined by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS).Patients were divided into Vitamin D severe deficiency group [25 (OH)D level≤25 nmol/L],deficiency group [25 (OH)D levels:25-50 nmol/L],insufficiency group [25 (OH) D level:50-75 nmol/L],and sufficiency group [25 (OH) D level ≥ 75 nmol/L] according to the criteria proposed by US Institute of Medicine. The cognitive function was assessed by MMSE score. The association between serum 25 (OH) D level and cognitive function was systematically analyzed. Results The serum levels of 25 (OH) D,25 (OH) D2,and 25 (OH) D3 were (27.08 ± 15.33) nmol/L,(1.23 ± 0.93) nmol/L and (24.50 ± 13.04) nmol/L in AD patients. The proportions of severe deficiency, deficiency, insufficiency, and sufficiency were 60.18% (68/113),30.97% (35/113),7.97% (9/113),and 0.88% (1/113),respectively,among these AD patients.A positive correlation was found between serum 25 (OH) D concentration and MMSE score in AD patients. Conclusions Impatients with AD often have severe vitamin D deficiency and need vitamin D supplementation.Serum 25 (OH) D concentration is associated with cognitive function, and therefore vitamin D supplementation may improve cognitive function.

Lumbar disc herniation (LDH) is a common clinical spine disease, which can lead to lower limb pain, weakness, numbness and even tingling and burning nerve paraesthesia, seriously affecting the quality of life of the patients. At present, X-ray, CT and MRI are commonly used in clinical imaging. However, in the process of diagnosis and treatment of LDH, clinical symptoms often do not coincide with imaging results, and MRI cannot show the degree of nerve injury. MRI diffusion imaging technique is currently the only method to measure the diffusion motion and imaging of water molecules in vivo, mainly including diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) and diffusion tensor imaging (DTI). In recent years, with the improvement of pulse sequence technology and the application of high-intensity magnetic field, MRI diffusion imaging technology has been gradually applied to the diagnosis and treatment of lumbar nerve injury, which can obtain non-invasive images of the stenosis or interruption of the involved nerve fibers. Based on the principle of diffusion imaging technology, this article analyzes the current status of its application in the diagnosis and treatment of LDH, and analyzes its limitations and discusses the future development direction, in order to provide basis and ideas for the realization of accurate diagnosis and treatment of LDH.

ObjectiveTo develop a rehabilitation program of nature posture treatment (NPT) suspension therapy based on the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health-Children and Youth version (ICF-CY) framework, and apply it to neurodevelopmental disorders. MethodsThe ICF-CY theoretical group (group A) and NPT suspension therapy group (group B) were established. Group A searched literature from common databases, to extract high-frequency words related to suspension therapy and match with categories of ICF-CY, to develop ICF-CY theoretical framework of the NPT suspension therapy. Group B developed specific rehabilitation procedures and training items based on the framework to compose the training pool. A total of 110 children aged less than six years with neurodevelopmental disorders and associated motor impairments were selected from outpatient or inpatient of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinxiang Medical University, between October, 2019 and October, 2022. They were randomly divided into control group (n = 55) and clinical group (n = 55), who received routine neurodevelopmental therapy and NPT suspension therapy program based on ICF-CY, respectively, for a week. The incidence of satisfaction, acceptance and adverse events were observed. ResultsTwo cases in the control group and four cases in the clinical group dropped down. For the clinical group, the incidence of satisfaction was 98% (50/51), with acceptance of 96% (49/51), and one adverse event occurred. For the control group, the incidence of both the satisfaction and acceptance was 100%, and no adverse event occurred. There was no significant difference in the incidence of satisfaction, acceptance and the adverse event (P > 0.05). ConclusionThe NPT suspension therapy program based on the ICF-CY framework is safe and acceptable for children with neurodevelopmental disorders.
