Objective To investigate the effect of taking medical students as standardized patients(SSP) on problem based leaming(PBL) teaching in clerkship. Methods Totally 161 students (grade 2008) selected from clinical medical department was divided into PBL group(n=81) and lecture-based learning(LBL) group(n=80).SSP was introduced into PBL teaching and LBL group was taught by LBL.After the clerkship, theory test was conducted in two groups and questionnaire was given to LBL group.Statistical analyses were conducted by SPSS 13.0,measurement data were analyzed by t test and enumeration data were described by frequency and constituent ratio. Results Theory test results showed that the average score of medical record analysis was (37.35 ± 5.95) in PBL group, much higher than (33.25 ± 4.89) in LBL group(P=0.001) ;the total score was (71.20 ± 8.67) in PBL group, much higher than that of (67.79 ± 9.87) in LBL group(P=0.018) as well. The average scores of choice question in 2 groups were (33.85 ± 5.05) and (34.24 ± 6.87),without significant differences(P=0.658).The constituent ratio of answer ‘OK' regarding 10 entries in questionnaire was more than 75%.The constituent ratio of answer ‘OK' regarding 3 entries(SSP matching degree,SSP without implied language or action, stimulating the learning interest) was more than 90%.Conclusions Introducing SSP PBL teaching can improve students' ability of clinical analysis and problem solving but not so effective for the basic theoretical knowledge grasp.SSP could replace standardized patients in PBL teaching.

Methods B ased on the previous ex-perim ental results, the postm ortem C T angiography device of hum an isolated heart w as im proved. D iffer-ent coronary atherosclerotic stenosis degree of sudden death cases w as selected. B efore the cardiac anatom y, hearts w ere rem oved out com pletely and C T angiography w as perform ed im m ediately. T he C T angiography results w ere com pared w ith histopathological findings. M eanw hile, the advantages and disad-vantages of the angiography device before and after im provem ent w ere com pared. Results T he im proved angiography device of isolated heart could get better im aging results. T he postm ortem C T angiography results had high consistency w ith the histopathological findings on diagnosis of coronary atherosclerotic stenosis degree. A nd the coronary artery lesions could be revealed m ore objectively and vividly by 3D reconstruction technology. H ow ever, C T angiography could only be used to exam ine the pathological changes of blood vessels, w hich m ight have som e lim itations on the diagnosis of cause of death. Con-clusion Postm ortem C T angiography can be used as an additional m ethod for the conventional autopsy in the cases of coronary atherosclerosis.

A 45-year-old male car driver died in a traffic accident of four cars rear-end collision on the highway. He was found to have died after a respiratory and cardiac arrest at the scene. No sign of skin injuries was observed from the external inspection. The autopsy was not permitted by the family members because of the local culture. Multislice computed tomography (MSCT) was applied to the current case, showing dislocation of C3~4 cervical vertebrae with Ⅱ degree, C4 vertebral plate fractures, and spinal stenosis. Post-mortem MSCT confirmed the diagnosis as whiplash injuries. MSCT was verified to be effective in showing the severity of whiplash injuries, thus providing certain objective evidence for medicolegal expertise.

Objective To explore the application value of multi-slice spiral computed tomography (MSCT) in traffic accidents through observing and analyzing the injury features of the accidents. Methods Two fatal cases caused by traffic accidents were fully examined using MSCT, 3D imaging reconstruction and angiography through cardiac puncture. The features of traffic injury mechanism were analyzed through combination of MSCT and postmortem external examination. Results In case 1, right cardiac rupture was found by MSCT and angiography through cardiac puncture. The cause of death was cardiac tam-ponade and right ventricular rupture due to the crush injury of chest in the traffic accident. In case 2, splenic rupture and intra-abdominal hemorrhage was found and caused by injury of left trunk by MSCT. The cause of death was hemorrhage and traumatic shock. Conclusion MSCT could observe skeletal in-jury, soft tissue injury, and hematologic disorder well. The combination use of MSCT and angiography through cardiac puncture provided assistance to the diagnosis of cardiovascular system injury.

Aim To investigate the effect of exogenous growth differentiation factor 11(GDF11)on vascular re-modeling in hypertensive rats through regulating the endoplasmic reticulum stress pathway mediated by lectin-like oxidized low density lipoprotein receptor-1(LOX-1).Methods Rats were randomly divided into control group, model group(Ang Ⅱ-induced hypertension rat model group),r-GDF11 group,Ab-LOX-1 group,r-GDF11+r-LOX-1 group, with 10 rats in each group. The changes of caudal arterial blood pressure in rats were detected by animal non-invasive blood pres-sure meter;the morphology of aortic vessels was evaluated by hematoxylin-eosin(HE)staining;the collagen deposition in aortic tissue was evaluated by Masson staining;the expression of GDF11,LOX-1 and endoplasmic reticulum(ER)stress related proteins in aortic tissues were detected by Western blot. Results Compared with the control group, the blood pressure of rats in the model group was increased, the media thickness(MT)and MT/lumen diameter(LD)of aortic tis-sue were increased, and the LD of aortic tissue was decreased(all P<0.05);Collagen volume fraction(CVF)value, the expression of glucose regulated protein 78(GRP78)and activating transcription factor 6(ATF6)protein,the ratio of phosphorylated PKR-like endoplasmic reticulum regulating kinase(p-PERK)/PERK and phosphorylated inositol requiring enzyme 1α(p-IRE1α)/IRE1α in aortic tissue were increased(all P<0.05).Compared with the model group, the blood pressure of rats in the r-GDF11 group and Ab-LOX-1 group was decreased, the MT and MT/LD of aortic tissue were de-creased,and the LD of aortic tissue was increased(all P<0.05);CVF value, the expression of GRP78 and ATF6 protein,p-PERK/PERK and p-IRE1α/IRE1α in aortic tissue were decreased(all P<0.05).Compared with the r-GDF11 group, the blood pressure of rats in the r-GDF11+r-LOX-1 group was increased, the MT and MT/LD of aortic tissue were increased, and the LD of aortic tissue was decreased(all P<0.05);CVF value, the expression of GRP78 and ATF6 protein, the p-PERK/PERK and p-IRE1α/IRE1α in aortic tissue were increased(all P<0.05).Conclusion Exogenous GDF11 im-proves vascular remodeling in hypertensive rats through inhibiting LOX-1-mediated endoplasmic reticulum stress pathway.

The adjacent anatomy of the pelvis is complicated, with digestive, urinary, reproductive and other organs as well as important blood vessels and nerves. Therefore, accurate resection of pelvic tumors and precise reconstruction of defects after resection are extremely difficult. The development of medical 3D printing technology provides new ideas for precise resection and personalized reconstruction of pelvic tumors. The “triune” application of 3D printing personalized lesion model, osteotomy guide plate and reconstruction prosthesis in pelvic tumor limb salvage reconstruction treatment has achieved good clinical results. However, the current lack of normative guidance standards such as preparation and application of 3D printing personalized lesion model, osteotomy guide plate and reconstruction prosthesis restricts its promotion and application. The formulation of this consensus provides normative guidance for 3D printing personalized pelvic tumor limb salvage reconstruction treatment.
