2.Investigation on Impacts of Industrial Fluoride-induced Pollution on Environment and Residents' Health
Journal of Environment and Health 1993;0(03):-
ve To understand the impacts of industrial fluoride-induced pollution on environment and human health. Methods The contents of fluorides in environmental media, such as air, soil, vegetables, weeds, branches and leaves in area around a certain chemical factory (polluted area) were monitored. The prevalance of dental fluorosis, the contents of fluorides in hair and nail were investigated among 87 individuals without history of exposure to industrial fluorides, living in polluted area for more than 5 years, and 132 individuals in control area. Results Higher fluoride levels in environmental medias, higher prevalance rates of dental fluorosis, high contents of fluorides in hair and nails of population were found in polluted area compared with those in control area. Conclusion The in-dustrial fluoride-induced pollution from this chemical factory had resulted in the hazardous impacts on environmental quality and human health.

Collateral circulation may be a potential therapeutic target for ischemic stroke. However, aiming at improving the treatment of collateral circulation,it has not yet got the reliable clinical validation now. Therefore, undergoing the study of collateral circulation first in the animal models of chronic cerebral hypoperfusion has important practical significance. This article reviews the methods of rat chronic cerebral hypoperfusion models, neurobehavioral evaluation, cerebral perfusion assessment, collateral circulation pathways, and the experimental research status of improving collateral circulation.

Journal of Environment and Health 1992;0(05):-
Objective To study the relation between copper,copper-zinc ratio in blood and blood-fat only in the copper intake lower than the normal acceptable daily intake, and to provide a unified dosage evidence for copper multi-ways exposure. Methods Forty-two SD rats were divided into 7 groups randomly. The rats in one group among them as the normal control group were fed on the normal fodder and water, the other 6 groups were fed on special fodder without copper and deionized water and i.g.copper gluconate at doses of 0ADI(the acceptable daily intake of rat),1/625ADI(0.000 128 mg/ml),1/125ADI(0.000 64 mg/ml),1/25ADI(0.003 2 mg/ml),1/5ADI(0.016 mg/ml) and ADI(0.8 mg/ml),for 30 days. The activity of ceruloplasmin(CP),the content of copper, zinc in the blood and the level of total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),high-density lipoprotein(HDL) and low density-lipoprotein(LDL) were determined. Results In the case of copper intake lower than the normal acceptable daily intake, the activity of CP in the blood of all treated rats were lower than the normal level(P

Orthopedic Journal of China 2006;0(19):-
[Objective]To study the effects of different bionic microstructure of artificial bones on the growth and osteogenesis characteristics of dog bone marrow stromal cells(BMSCs).[Method]The artificial bones were divided into 4 groups in the experiments:perpendicular structure(experimental group,A),concentric structure(experimental group,B),CPC/ rhBMP-2(calcimrt phosphate cement composited with recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein 2)(control group,C)and pure CPC(control group,D).Dog bone marrow mononuclear cells were isolated from the bone marrow by gradient centrifugation and then cultured in non-induced condition.BMSCs at 3~(rd) passage were harvested and inoculated onto the artificial bones of the 4 groups. The implanted cells and artificial bones were retrieved and observed at different times with fluorescence microscope, scanning electron microscope. The proliferation of BMSCs was evaluated by MTT method, and the osteogenic differentiation was evaluated by alkaline phosphatase(ALP)activity.[Result]The cultured BMSCs adhered well to the surface of all artificial bones and it was better to A and B groups than to C and D groups.By MTT method, the A values of group A,B,C were significantly higher compared with group D(all P0.05);The ALP activities of BMSCs in group A,B,C and D all increased significantly from the 4~(th) day to the 7~(th) day(P0.05).[Conclusion]The bionic microstrueture artificial bones are satisfactory carriers of BMP and possess good cellular biocompatibility with dog bone marrow stromal cells and have the ability to enhance the osteogenic differentiation of BMSCs.

Objective To histomorphometricly assess changes occurred in the alveolar ridge following different methods of socket preservation and to compare them against natural healing without interventions. Methods The second、 third and fourth mandibular premolars were extracted from six beagles. Six extraction sites in each dog were randomly assigned to three treatments as follows:natural healing (T1), Bio-Oss Collagen (T2) and immediate implant with Bio-Oss (T3). Six month after surgery, the dogs were euthanized and tissue samples were sectioned, fixed and mounted, then were stained with toluidine blue. The histologic studies and morphological measurements were performed by using an optical microscope and a digital image software. Results Reabsorption in the buccal aspect of the alveolar crest of ridge was showed in all groups. With respect to the mean vertical bone loss of the buccal bone plate, T3 is lower than T1 and T2(P<0.001 ), while no significant differences were observed between T1 and T2. With regard to horizontal dimension of the alveolar process , a statistical significance could be found at 3mm and 4mm below the crest of ridge in group T1 and T3(P=0.017, P=0.042), while no statistical differences were found between other groups. Conclusions Both techniques of alveolar ridge preservation were not able to completely preserve the original bone volume after tooth extraction. Immediate implant placement in combination with Bio-Oss seems to have the potential to limit the reabsorption of the alveolar process efficiently , but the bone preserving effect of Bio-Oss Collagen is undesirable.

Objective To evaluate the clinicopathological features, treatments and prognostic factors of male breast cancer (MBC) patients. Methods Clinical data of 102 MBC patients with histopathology confirmation at Tianjin Medical University Cancer Hospital were retrospectively analyzed. Results All 102 cases got follow-up.The follow-up rate was 100%.The follow-up period was 3-279 months. The mean follow-up period was 65 months.During the follow-up period, recurrence was found in 21 cases, metastasis occurred in 28 cases (including pulmonary metastasis in 8,osseous metastasis in 7,hepatic metastasis in 9,brain metastasis in 3,and soft tissues and adrenal gland metastasis in 1).The 5-year disease free survival rate was 54.3% and the 5-year overall survival rate was 72.8%.Univariate analysis showed that tumor size, axillary lymph node status,TNM stage, chemotherapy influenced the disease free and overall survival.Multivariate Cox regression shows that axillary lymph node status (P =0.085)was the independent prognostic factor of disease free survival for MBC.Tumor size(P =0.041)and axillary lymph node (P =0.024) status were independent prognostic factors of overall survival for MBC.Conclusions Early diagnosis and comprehensive treatment strategy consisting of radical mastectomy is essential to improve the survival of patients with MBC.

Objective:To investigate the effect of different ventilation time in the prone position on patients with endogenous/exogenous ARDS.Methods:30 endogenous/30 exogenous ARDS patients were randomly devided into 4 groups, ventilation in the prone position for 2 h and 4 h.Recording the score of APCHEII,oxygenation index, the absorption situation in X-ray,HR,MAP,extubation time, the time out of ICU.Results:The APCHEII scores HR and MAP in four groups have no significant statistics (P>0.05);4h ventilation for endogenous ARDS patients has a better indicators than 2 h in oxygenation index, the absorption situation in X-ray,extubation time and the time out of ICU (P<0.05);2 h and 4 h ventilation for exogenous ARDS patients can improve indicators above, two groups have no significant statistics (P>0.05),the results of exogenous groups are precede than endogenous group (P<0.05).Conclusion:Ventilation in the prone position can improve the situation of ARDS patients, both endogenous patients and exogenous patients.Exogenous ARDS patients have a better treatment effect after the ventilation of 2h,however,endogenous patients need longer time and have a non-ideal prognosis.
