1.Classification and evolutionary analysis of pollen allergens
Chinese Journal of Microbiology and Immunology 2010;30(1):56-59
Objective To classify all the plant pollen allergens, each allergen sequence available was compared with protein family database. After that, the appearance and taxonomic distribution of each protein family could be known. When made reference to evolutionary analysis, a regular rule of the distribu-tion of all plant pollen allergens could be concluded. Methods Protein family memberships of each allergen were assigned by comparing the sequences with the Pfam database. Representative members of the most a-bundant pollen allergen families were compared with the Uniprot database using the BLAST server. Acces-sion number of all the interesting homologous could be obtained and all the sequence information could be ac-quired by Batch Entrez. Finally, the evolutionary trees were drawn with the help of MEGA4.0 software. Re-sults One hundred and sixty-eight pollen allergens were classified into 26 protein families. Profilins, pollen _allerg_1 and EF hands constituted the most abundant pollen allergen families. Profilins and EF hands oc-curred in almost all allergenic plant families, whereas allergenic Expansins, FAD_binding proteins, Amb_V allergens and Thaumatins were confined to single taxon. Conclusion It is concluded that the highly con-served sequences of allergens families such as Profilin may be one of the most important reasons of the cross reactivities in allergic diseases. The classification of pollen allergens may be helpful to clinical practice and basic research.
2.Brucellosis presenting as fever of unknown origin admitted in a general hospital of non-endemic area:a clinical analysis of 11 cases
Chinese Journal of General Practitioners 2017;16(8):602-605
Objective To analyze the clinical characteristics of brucellosis presenting as fever of unknown origin in non-endemic area. Methods Clinical data of 11 patients with fever of unknown origin, who were admitted in a general hospital of non-endemic area from Jan 2013 to Jan 2017 and diagnosed as brucellosis by blood culture, were retrospectively analyzed. Results There were 8 males and 3 females aged 40-70 years. The patients were admitted with or without accompanied symptoms. The patients were initially presented in rheumatology (1 case),neurology (1 case),emergency (4 cases),hematology (1 case),orthopedics (2 cases) and pneumology (2 cases) departments, respectively. The time from onset to presentation was 0.5-7.0 months. The clinical manifestations were nonspecific, and blood cultures of Brucella were positive between 2 to 5 weeks with a mean of 3 weeks.Time to diagnosis was 1 to 9 months with a mean of 4 months. All patients were transferred to infectious hospital when the diagnosis was confirmed. The telephone follow-up showed that none of the patients had fever after discharged. Conclusion Brucellosis should not be neglected in the differential diagnosis of FUO in non-endemic area, and blood culture is important for a definitive diagnosis.
3.Chromosome’s Influence and Curative Effect on First and Second Generation Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitor Therapy to CML
Journal of Modern Laboratory Medicine 2015;(1):91-93,97
Objective Research of chromosome’s influence and curative effect on first and second generation tyrosine kinase inhibitor therapy to CML patients. Methods Giving conventional genetic analysis to 80 Ph+ CML patients, and contrast CML patients’chromosome changing situation with first and second generation tyrosine kinase inhibitor therapy. Results There were 1 1 cases with other abnormalities of chromosome number and structure in 80 cases of Ph+ CML patients, and 10 cases were resistant or intolerant to imatinib.35 patients (87.5%)achieve sustained complete cytogenetic remission (CCyR)who treated with imatinib (TKI-Ⅰ)in the total 40 cases,in these 35 patients,7 cases (17.5%)got CCyR in 3 months;10 cases (25%)got CCyR in 6 months,13 cases (32.5%)got CCyR in 12 months, and 5 cases (12.5%)got CCyR in 18 months.33 patients (82.5%)achieve sustained completecytogenetic remission (CCyR)who treated with dasatinib/nilotinib (TKI-Ⅱ)in the total 40 cases,in these 33 cases,16 cases (40%)got CCyR in 3 months;9 cases (22.5%)got CCyR in 6 months,5 cases (1 2.5%)got CCyR in 1 2 months, and 3 cases (7.5%)got CCyR in 1 8 months. Conclusion Ph+ CML patients combined with other chromosome abnormity were more easily to be resistant or intolerant to imatinib,espe-cially in acceleratd phase and blastic phase.First and second generation tyrosine kinase inhibitor have little difference to treat with CML patients in long time efficacy, but the second generation effect is better than first generation in short time effica-cy.
4.On the Optimization of Extraction Conditions of Tetrandrine and Demethyltetrandrine from Fourstamen Stephania (Stephania tetrandra)
Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs 1994;0(11):-
Several factors influencing the extraction of tetrandrine and demethyltetrandrine from Chinese medicinal herbs, Stephania tetrandra S. Moore were studied by means of Ortogonal method. The optimum Condition was eight hours steeping, in 33.3% ammonia in absolute alcohol for four hours under ultrasonic agitation. Tctrandrine aud demethyltetrandrino were detected by HPLC. The contents were 0.678% and 0.616%, the detection limits were 3.87?10-3and 0.48?10-3 mmol/L respectively.
5.Studies on the Resistance of seed of Ural Licorice(Glycyrrhiza uralensis)
Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs 1994;0(01):-
Several resistant characteristics of Glycyrrhiza uralensis seeds were studied. The results showed that hard seed can resist attack from fungi or bacteria. It can endure high temperature for 4h at 80℃ and 10 min at 100℃, but when at 100℃ for 1 h it loses its germinating power. The seeds stored for 4 years do not reduce viability. After long period storage for 13 years, about 60% of the seed still retains its germinating power.
6.Effect of PRL on the expression of CD154 in Jurkat cells
Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 1985;0(01):-
Expression of PRL receptor mRNA in Jurkat D1.1 cell line was confirmed by RT PCR. CD154 expression of Jurkat cells was significantly increased when these cells were incubated with PHA and recombinant human PRL, suggesting that binding of PRL to its receptor promotes CD154 expression which plays a role in immune regulation.
