In many medical instrumentation systems, there exists a long distance between manipulation platform and host unit. Wireless data transferring between the platform and the host could be a feasible way to set parameters. This paper introduces wireless transmitter and receiver circuit based on encoder chip PT2262 and decoder chip PT22720, and presents some typical applications in medical instrument development.

Objective To evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of GenoType? M TBDRsl for the resistance to fluoroquinolones anti‐tuberculosis drugs .Methods Systematic and comprehensive literature was searched in PubMed ,Embase ,Web of Science ,CBM , CNKI ,VIP and Wanfang database .The relative studies of GenoType? MTBDRsl to fluoroquinolones anti‐tuberculosis drugs were included .After quality assessment ,Meta‐Disc1 .4 software was used to analyze the data .Results A total of 16 trials ,involving 1 766 participants ,were included .The results of Meta‐analysis showed that the weighted sensitivity ,specificity ,positive likelihood ra‐tio ,negative likelihood ratio ,diagnostic odds ratio ,and the area under summary receiver operation curve were 0 .83 ,0 .96 ,17 .50 , 0 .20 ,108 .46 and 0 .934 9 ,respectively .Conclusion GenoType? M TBDRsl assay for the resistance to fluoroquinolones anti‐tuber‐culosis drugs might be with high sensitivity and specificity ,which could be recommended as efficacy diagnostic tool .

Objective To compare the clinical utility of alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) and des-gammacarboxyprothrombin (DCP) in diagnosing hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in patients with a hepatic mass.Methods From January 2015 to May 2015,141 patients were diagnosed to have a liver tumor after imaging examinations in the Hepatobiliary Surgical General Hospital of PLA,Beijing,China.Preoperative AFP and DCP were measured using commercial assay kits.The reference standard was either pathologic or clinical diagnosis of HCC.The performance of AFP and DCP in diagnosing HCC was determined using receiver operating characteristic curve analysis.Results Of 141 patients,98 were diagnosed to have HCC and 43 without.The levels of AFP were significantly higher in patients with HCC than those without [80.0(3.9-1 375.0) μg/L vs.2.1 (1.6-3.2) μg/L,Z =6.98,P ＜ 0.01].Similar results were observed in the levels of DCP [141.5 (24.0-978.0) AU/L vs.19.0 (14.0-25.5) AU/L,Z =5.18,P ＜ 0.01].Receiver operating curves (ROC) indicated the cut-off value with the best sensitivity and specificity was 3.6 μg/L for AFP and 35 AU/L for DCP.The difference in the area under ROC between AFP and DCP was not statistically significant (0.87 vs.0.78,Z =1.72,P =0.085).The sensitivity and specificity for detection of HCC in patients with a hepatic mass were 56.1％ and 95.4％ for AFP ＞ or =20 μg/L,69.4％ and 83.7％ for DCP ＞ or =40 AU/L,respectively.The level of AFP was associated with DCP in patients with HCC (x2 =9.12,P ＜ 0.01,r =0.292) and parallel testing of AFP and DCP gave an optimal sensitivity of 79.6％ with a specificity of 81.4％ in diagnosing HCC.Conclusions DCP is a useful biomarker and it gave an equal performance as AFP in diagnosing HCC in patients with a liver mass in this study.Parallel testing of AFP and DCP effectively increased the diagnostic sensitivity.Although the biomarkers only marginally improved the diagnostic results,it could be useful in diagnosing HCC in individuals who had atypical imaging results.

Objective To investigate the expression of GRP78 and caspase-12 on the auditory cortex and to study the effects of endoplasmic reticulum stress in the auditory cortex neuron apoptosis after the brain ischemia reperfusion injury in guinea pig.Methods Fifty healthy male guinea pigs were selected and randomly divided into 5 groups which were hormal group group A(reperfusion for 6 hours),group B(reperfusion for 12 hours),group C (reperfusion for 24 hours),group D(reperfusion for 72 hours).The cerebral ischemia reperfusion injury model was produced by the occlusion of bilateral common carotid arteries.The guinea pigs were sacrificed at reperfusion of 6, 12,24,and 72 hours respectively after they received ABR tests.The pathological changes were observed by HE and the levels of GRP78 and caspase-12 protein were detected by immunohistochemistry and Western blot.Results The hearing thresholds increased gradually from the normal group to group B,and decreased gradually from group C to group D,but the thresholds of group D were still higher than that of the normal group.HE staining showed that the neurons in the normal control group were arranged in order,the cytoplasm was abundant,large and round.The cells were stained clearly.After reperfusion,the number of neurons in each time point was decreased,the nucleus presented atrophic,fragmented,the disappeared.The expression of GRP78 and caspase-12 protein in normal con-trol group was only a trace or a small amount by immunohistochemistry and Western blot.The expression of GRP78 and caspase-12 began to inerease.The expression of GRP78 reached the peak at reperfusion of 12 hours and de-creased gradually.There were significant statistic differences between each group comparison.The expression of caspase-12 reached the peak at reperfusion of 24 hours,then decreased gradually.There was no statistic difference between group A and group B.There were significant statistic differences anong other groups.Conclusion Endo-plasmic reticulum stress(ERS)may be induced by brain ischemia reperfusion injury,and can increase the expression of GRP78 and caspase-12.GRP78 and caspase-12 participate in the process of neuron apoptosis on auditory cor-tex caused by ERS.

BACKGROUND:Human embryonic stem cels are able to self-renew indefinitely and have the capacity to differentiate into al three germ layers (ectoderm, endoderm and mesoderm). These properties imply great potential in the basic research and clinical application, including regenerative medicine, drug screening and toxins, early human embryo, cel transplantation, gene therapy,etc. However, it is a substantial chalenge to develop efficient techniques for their large-scale culture under defined conditions, and for controling and directing their differentiation. For therapeutic purposes, many scholars are trying to establish methods for maintaining pluripotency in defined xeno-free conditions and scalable culture systems. OBJECTIVE:To discuss the progress of serum-free culture systems in human embryonic stem cel research reported in recent years and to highlight the chalenges and advances being made towards the development of serum-free and xeno-free culture systems suitable for therapeutic applications. METHODS:A computer-based search of CNKI and PubMed academic database was performed for articles addressing serum-free culture systems of human embryonic stem cels published from 2008 to 2015. Repetitive and old articles were excluded. Finaly, 58 articles were summarized. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Several groups have attempted to exclude individual animal components by using feeder-free matrices, feeder cels of human origin, or defined xeno-free media, aiming to select a suitable matrix and medium that can minimize or not use heterologous components, in order to obtain cel lines at clinical level. However, the current cel products are far from clinical application. There are stil many problems to be solved, such as standardization, normalization and individualization of cel products. With the normative development of stem cel research and industry, human embryonic stem cel products are expected to be widely used in clinic.

Objective To investigate the clinical manifesfations and diagnostic and therapeutic features of cholangiocarcinoma associated with hepatolithiasis.Methods The clinical data, the diagnotic and therapeutic featares of 54 cases of cholangiocacinoma associated with hepatolithiasis were retrospectively analyzed.Results The occurrence rate of hepatolithiasis concomitant with hepatocholangiocarcinoma was 11.8%.Due to a lack of specific clinical manifestations, the preoperative diagnosis of this condition was difficult. In this series, the (correct) diagnotic rate of hepatocholangiocarcinoma before operation was only 11.1%. The radical resection rate was 51.8%. Radical resection of the tumor had a better prognosis than that of non-resection of tumor.(Conclusions) Patients with long-term recurrent hepatolithiasis tended to have associated cholangiocarcinoma. Early diagnosis of the disease was difficult, and the treatment results and prognosis were poor. Therefore, (patients) with hepatolithiasis, espesially those with recurrent attacks, should undergo operation early. In cases diagnosed as hepatic cholangioearcinoma at operation, a radical resection should be performed, if possible, and a favorable outcome may be attained.

Objective To establish a reconstructed human epidermis model in vitro, and to study the process of re-epithelialization. Methods A dermal substrate devoid of epidermis was prepared; a 2 mm skin biopsy explant was transplanted onto the dermal substrates. Visualization of epidermal cell migration was carried out by fluorescence imaging. The proliferation and differentiation of the new epithelial cells were observed using histopathological and immunohistochemical staining (Ki67). EGF was added to the culture medium of the experimental samples but not to that of the controls. Results After 3 days of culture, re-epithelialization was observed on the surface of the dermal substrate. A complete structure resembling regular epidermis was noted in 10 days. Beta-Elemene is an antitumor drug which is isolated from the traditional Chinese medicinal herb Curcumae Phaeocaulis Rhizoma, it is the main component of elemene which is extracted from the plant and delivered via blood circulation after intravenous injection. The antitumor effect of beta-elemene in vitro and in vivo was definite, and beta-elemene could improve the patient immunity and no sever side effect, drug resistance or bone marrow suppression were found during the clinical studies. And human serum albumin (HSA) is a primary extracellular protein which has a high concentration distribution in blood plasma and has many characteristic physiological functions. Therefore, the binding of beta-elemene to protein may be very important for absorption, distribution, metabolism and elimination. Therefore, the study on the interaction of beta-elemene with drug-carrying protein is very important. In this work, molecular binding of beta-elemene to human serum albumin (HSA) was investigated by using spectrofluorometer. the binding constants suggested that a strong interaction and the formation of a complex between beta-elemene and HSA. This clearly implies that beta-elemene can be stored and removed by the proteins in the body. Furthermore, the fluorescence quenching results showed that the HSA fluorescence was quenched by beta-elemene through static quenching mechanism. Thermodynamic parameters showed that hydrophobic interactions play a role in the binding of beta-elemene to HSA. The negative deltaH(0) and positive deltaS(0) in case of beta-elemene therefore showed that electrostatic attraction play a role in the binding of beta-elemene to HSA.

Objective To study dectin-1 mRNA expression in lung of different immune status mice infected with Aspergillusfumigatus, and to explore the influence of immunosuppressive agent on the expression of dectin-1 and its relationship with the progression of disease. Methods Mice were divided into four groups which were normal control, immuncompromised, immuncompromised with A.fumigatus inoculation and immuncompetent with A.fumigatus inoculation groups. We explored the kinetic mRNA expression of dectin-1 in lung of different groups by real-time quantitative PCR. Pulmonary fungal burden assessment was performed to reflect the progressing of disease during the experimental time course. Results On day 3 after inoculation, pulmonary fungal burden of the immuncompromised mice was higher than that of the immuncompetent group. On day 1 and 3, dectin-I mRNA expression in lung of the immuncompromised group was much lower than that of the normal control. On day 3, dectin-1 mRNA expression in lung of the immuncompetent mice infected with A.fumigatus was much higher than that of the immuncompromised with A.fumigatus inoculation and the normal control groups ( P < 0.05 ). Conclusion During the infection, expression of dectin-1 in lung of the immuncompetent group was strikingly increased, which may play an important role on the defence to A.fumigatus invasion. Cyclophosphamide inhibited the expression of dectin-1 in lung of mice which may be one of the mechanisms of the invasive pulmonary aspergillosis development induced by eyclophosphamide.
