The citations of original foreign language books in doctorial dissertations of Suzhou University in 2013 were analyzed,which showed that the number of cited original foreign language books on humanities and social sciences was greater than that on other science, the cited books were not limited to those that were recently published, the number of cited original foreign language books published by university press was greater than that published by other publishers. Suggestions were put forward for improving the acquisition of original foreign language books.

Objective To evaluate the clinical application of GlideScope~ video laryngoscope in anesthetic endotracheal intubation.Methods Two hundred patients who received surgery under general anesthesia with ASA I or II were involved in this study.One hundred patients were assigned to be intubated with GlideScope~(GS group) and the other 100 with size 3 Macintosh laryngoscope(ML group).The following data were recorded and analyzed: noninvasive blood pressure(NBP),heart rate(HR) at the different time points of intubation process,glottic exposure time,CormarkLehane grade,tracheal intubation time and total intubation attempts. ObjectiveTo investigate the efficacy and toxicity of postoperative radiochemotherapy compared with chemotherapy alone in the treatment of locally advanced gastric cancer.MethodsA total of 83 patients with resected adenocarcinoma of the stomach were randomly assigned to postoperative radiochemotherapy group (RCT) ( n =43 ) or chemotherapy alone group (CT) ( n =40 ).Patients in RCT group received radiotherapy concurrent with capecitabine chemotherapy then followed by 4 - 6 cycles of FOLFOX4 chemotherapy.The total dose of radiation was 45 Gy.The dose of capecitabine was 1600 mg/m2per day.In the CT group,patients received 6 - 8 cycles FOLFOX4 chemotherapy.Survival was analyzed using Kaplan-Meier method and Logrank test. Results The follow-up rate was 96％. The number of patients who had a minimum of 2-,3-year follow-up time were 37,12 in the RCT group and 31,10 in the CT group.The 1-,2-,3-year local control rates for RCT and CT groups were 100％,97％,94％ and 95％,87％,73％ (x2 =4.54,P =0.033),respectively.The 1-,2-,3-year survival rates were 98％,86％,81％ in the RCT group,with 93％,80％,64％ in the CT group ( x2 =3.96,P =0.047 ).The incidence of grade 3hematological toxicity in the RCT and CT group was 23％ vs 15％ ( x2 =0.93,P =0.630 ),and grade 3gastrointestinal toxicity was 16％ vs 10％ ( x2 =0.95,P =0.624 ). Conclusions Compared with chemotherapy alone,postoperative radiochemotherapy can improve survival of locally advanced gastric cancer patients with acceptable toxicities.

Objective To evaluate the ability of 3-AB to sensitize the human esophageal carcinoma cell strain (CaEs-17) to radiation in v/tro and its mechanisms. Methods CaEs-17 cells were treated with 3-AB at 0, 2.5, 7.5 mmol/L and given irradiation O, 3, 6, 9, 12 Gy. 3-AB concentration in each group was made dose-survival curve using multi-target single-hit maiths model by clonogenie assay. MTT assay was performed to observe the survival of irradiated cells.comet assay and metaphase chromosome analysis were used to measure the DNA damage degree and chromosome aberration of CaEs-17 cell after 3-AB treatment and irradiation. Results Cell survival experiments showed SER of 1.21, 1.52 for 2.5 mmol/L, 7.5 mmol/L 3-AB respectively using multi-target single-hit maths model. The survival fraction of irradiated CaEs-17 cell was decreased after 3-AB treatment. DNA damage and the chromatid breakage number of irradiated CaEs-17 cells were increased after 3-AB treatment. Conclusions 3-AB, a PARP inhibitor, can enhance the radiosensitivity of human esophageal carcinoma cell strain (CaEs-17). DNA damage repair inhibition by 3-AB might be one of the mechanisms.

Objective To investigate the clinical value of Fluorine-18-fluorodeoxyglucose (18 F-FDG) PET/CT examination to predict the prognosis of patients after colorectal cancer operation.Methods The retrospective cross-sectional study was adopted.The clinicopathological data of 80 patients with colorectal cancer who were admitted to the First Hospital of Nanjing Medical University from March 2007 to October 2015 were collected.Eighty patients received first preoperative 18 F-FDG PET/CT examination and underwent operations under decisions of patients and their families,and then adjuvant chemotherapy were performed according to the patients' condition.Observation indicators included:(1) preoperative imaging examination,(2) situations of treatment and follow-up,(3) analysis of prognostic factors.The patients were followed up by outpatient examination and telephone interview once every 3 months within postoperative 1 year,once every half a year within postoperative 2 years and then once a year up to May 2016.The follow-up included tumor recurrence or progression and survival of patients.Tumor-free survival time was from postoperative day 1 to tumor recurrence or progression and death or end of follow-up.Overall survival time was from postoperative day 1 to death or end of follow-up.Measurement data with skewed distribution were represented as M (Qn) and M (range).The optimal cutoff point of tumor-free survival of maximum standardized uptake value (SUVmax),mean standardized uptake value (SUV),metabolism of volume (MTV) and total lesion of glycolysis (TLG) were investigated using the ROC curve analysis,and calculating area under the curve (AUC).The median was used as a cutoff point if there was smaller AUC.The Kaplan-Meier method and Log-rank test were respectively used for survival analysis and univariate analysis,and COX proportional hazards model for multivariate analysis.Results (1) Results of preoperative imaging examination:results of PET/CT in patients with colorectal cancer showed there were circumscribed thickening of bowel wall,intestinal cavity strictures,fuzzy fat space around the some lesions,enlarged lymph node and 18 F-FDG uptake increased abnormally.The SUV SUV MTV and TLG of 80 patients were 11.83(4.26,35.42),7.06(2.38,20.92),20.47 cm3 (1.29 cm3,161.50 cm3) and 138.58 (14.17,857.89),respectively.ROC curve showed that the AUC of SUV SUV MTV and TLG were 0.453,0.448,0.815 and 0.749 [95％ confidence interval (CI):0.307-0.600,P ＞0.05;0.303-0.594,P ＞ 0.05;0.717-0.913,P ＜ 0.05;0.635-0.863,P ＜ 0.05],respectively.The median SUVmax (11.83) and SUV (7.06) were used as the cutoff points due to smaller AUC of SUVmax and SUV.The cutoff point of MTV was 18.79 cm3 (sensitivity =86.2％ and specificity =68.3％),and the cutoff point of TLG was 142.05 (sensitivity =75.9％ and specificity =70.7％).(2) Situations of treatment and follow-up:among 80 patients,13 underwent the radical resection of colorectal cancer and resection of liver metastasis and 67 underwent radical resection of colorectal cancer.Sixty-two patients received postoperative chemotherapy,including 45 with chemotherapy regimens of capecitabine and 17 with fluorouracil.Eighty patients were followed up for 41.8 months (range,6.5-109.1 months).During the follow-up,29 patients had tumor recurrence or progression,and 19 patients were dead.The median tumor-free survival time,1-,3-and 5-year tumor-free survival rates in 80 patients were 19.5 months (range,2.0-109.1 months),73.7％,36.3％ and 18.8％,respectively.The median overall survival time,1-,3-and 5-year overall survival rates were 31.8 months (range,3.3-109.1 months),76.3％,37.5％ and 20.0％,respectively.(3) Analysis of prognostic factors:results of univariate analysis showed that tumor location,N staging,M staging,clinical staging,postoperative chemotherapy,MTV and TLG were relative factors affecting postoperative tumor-free survival rate (HR =3.469,5.325,5.295,8.605,2.630,7.388,5.155,95％ CI:1.522-7.906,2.256-12.568,2.405-11.657,2.969-24.937,1.063-6.504,2.550-21.403,2.178-12.204,P ＜ 0.05).The tumor location,tumor differentiation,N staging,M staging,clinical staging,MTV and TLG were relative factors affecting postoperative overall survival rate (HR =2.697,2.814,3.083,2.916,4.193,5.450,4.876,95％ CI:1.011-7.197,1.121-7.062,1.166-8.149,1.140-7.454,1.386-12.678,1.581-18.786,1.727-13.766,P ＜ 0.05).In multivariate analysis,stage Ⅲ-Ⅳ of clinical staging and TLG≥ 142.05 were independent risk factors affecting postoperative tumor-free survival rate (HR =9.879,3.569,95％ CI:1.854-22.836,1.127-11.306,P＜0.05).The stage M1,stage Ⅲ-Ⅳ of clinical staging and TLG≥ 142.05 were independent risk factors affecting postoperative overall survival rate (HR =4.522,9.315,10.120,95％ CI:1.223-16.717,1.338-24.864,2.385-12.947,P＜0.05).Conclusion TLG through 18 F-FDG PET/CT examination is an independent prognostic factor affecting postoperative tumor-free survival rate and overall survival rate in patients with colorectal cancer after curative resection,and it has certainly reference value for prognosis.

Objective To compare the fetal and maternal outcomes of labor undergoing epidural block anesthesia with and without using hand-and-knee position in the second stage of labor.Methods A total of 1,158 subjects were included in the study.There were 560 subjects in the study group and 598 cases in the control group.All the subjects were divided into study and control group according to the randomized numbers.Both groups underwent epidural block anesthesia and used the same labor way in stage I and stage 3.In the study group,the hand-and-knee position was used for 15～30 minutes combined with uterine contractions and the delivery was done in the lithotomy position.In the control group,the gradidea took the semi-recumbent position with bent knees and bed elevated 40°,combined with uterine contractions until the delivery was done in the lithotomy position.The labor time of stage1,stage2,stage3 and all abor,labor way,perinaueum,complications and newborns were compared.Results The average time of the second stage labor and all labor in the observation group were significantly shorter than those of the control group (P＜0.05).The labor ways in the observation group was better than that of the control group (P＜0.05).The incidence of postpartum urinary retention in the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group (P＜0.05).The differences of labor time for stage 1,stage2,perinaueum,blood loss rate,newboms' s tomor and neonatal asphyxia between two groups were not statistically significant (P＞0.05).Conclusions Under continuous epidural block anesthesia,the use of the hands-and-knees position in the second stage of labor can reduce the incidence of operative delivery,shorten the labor process,and reduce maternal complications.The method is worthy of promotion.

40 years old in 6 Uygur communities of Urumqi. The multi-phasic stratified cluster sampling method was adopted. Finally 191 men with high risk were selected as samples in the study and classified into two groups according to oral glucose tolerance test(OGTT)results, anthropometric and biochemical indicators. Results The prevalence of type 2 diabetes and IGR was 17.39% and 7.56% respecfively in the Uygur nationality. Waist-hip ratio, abdominal and waist circumference,the level of HbA1c and serum insulin of male diabetic patients were significantly higher than those of male IGR potieuts. But another four indicators of blood lipid and three indicators of renal function were not significantly different between two groups. Conclusion The indicators releted to abdominal obesity may be sensitive to diabetes and valuable to screen diabetic patients for giving effective health education and behavioral intervention in high risk population.

Objective:To evaluate the clinical outcomes of patients with single spinal metastasis of thoracic, lumbar or sacral vertebra treated with microwave ablation in situ.Methods:For 28 patients with single spinal metastasis of thoracic, lumbar or sacral vertebra, detailed and personal surgical plans were carried out. Instead of en bloc resection, hyperthermia ablation in situ was performed followed by strengthening procedures under the guidance of G-arm fluoroscopy machine. Intraoperatively, spinal cord and nerve root were properly protected. The bone defects were reconstructed by bone cement after the diseased lesions were revomed. All patients were followed up for almost 1 year postoperatively. During follow-up, X-ray and MRI images were obtained, and the level of pain and neurologic outcomes were also examined.Results:All 28 patients successfully received microwave ablation in situ. The average ablation time was approximately 8 minutes and the average amount of bone cement implanted was approximately 10.5 ml. The pain scores of digital pain classification before and 3 months after operation were 7.86±1.58 and 3.07±1.89( P<0.05). The postoperative neurological function of 22 patients was improved than that before operation. No significant changes were observed in 5 patients. The neurological function of the affected limb was relieved, whereas the symptoms of the healthy limb were slightly worse in the remaining case. Conclusions:Microwave ablation in situ is a feasible and effective surgical method for single spinal metastasis of thoracic, lumbar or sacral vertebra. It might possess many advantages, such as clear surgical field, smaller incisions, less bleeding, and safe margins during the operations. Further more, it could significantly relieve pain, restrict tumor growth, and improve the quality of life of patients. It is an innovative and distinctive therapeutic alternative for single spinal metastasis, which deserves widespread application.

Objective: To understand the current situation and influencing factors of physical exercise participation of rural primary and secondary school students in Jiangsu Province, and to provide reference for promoting healthy development of rural youth in Northern Jiangsu. Methods: A total of 3 597 rural primary and middle school students in Northern Jiangsu Province were selected to conduct a questionnaire survey on the status quo of physical exercise. Results: Only 37.6% of students in Northern Jiangsu had more than 3 hours of physical education every week, 23.6% of the students participated in extracurricular physical exercise for more than 3 times a week, 14.3% of the students participated in physical exercise for more than 1 hour every day, 77.9% of the students master more than 1 sports skills, 72.0% of students participated in extracurricular activities perceived, and 27.3% of the students participated in extracurricular sports professional counseling; 35.7% of the students reported lack of parental support physical education curriculum lacks of interest, 17.0% of the students didn t like the physical education teachers or their teaching methods, 28.6% of the students reported lack of sports venues or equipment, 8.4% of the students reported that their parents do not support, 38.2% of the students reported lack of extracurricular sports professional guidance, 18.1% of the students think that the performance of physical education didn t affect the evaluation and progress of the school. Univariate Logistic regression analysis showed that gender, academic stage, dislike of physical education teaching methods and lack of physical education professional guidance were the influencing factors of physical exercise participation havior of rural students(P<0.05). Conclusion The present situation of physical exercise of rural primary and secondary school students in Northern Jiangsu Province is not optimistic. Special attention to the formation of female exercise behavior, improve the teaching quality of rural physical education and support the off campus sports training institutions.
