OBJECTIVE:To discuss the method of efficacy evaluation of Chinese traditional medicine(CTM)by the theory of pharmacoeconomics.METHODS:Based on the characteristics and the market situation,together with the current interna?tional pharmacoeconomics evaluation norm,the method for the efficacy evaluation of CTM was analyzed and discussed.RE?SULTS&CONCLUSIONS:Both the advantages of CTM and the international evaluation standard should be taken into consideration in the evaluation of the efficacy of CTM,it is advisable to adopt the western medicine efficacy assessment stan?dard if possible so as to increase its international acceptability.

Objective To define urban community public health service programs by classification so as to better the mechanism of compensation for community health services. Mothods A preliminary classification of community health service programs was made in accordance with public product theories, which was then further improved by means of interviews with focal groups. Results At present a total of 99 community health service programs were offered in the cities under investigation, of which 45 were public health service programs, 21 para-public health service programs, and 33 private health service programs. Conclusion On condition that basic public health service is guaranteed, the government can make corresponding adjustments in compensation for public and para-public health service programs in light of economic development.

Objective To study the influence of Captopril preconditioning on apoptosis and the expression of gp 130 in rats of acute myocardial injured. Method Wistar rats were randomly divided into three groups:control group, Iso group and Cap preconditioning group. Cardiomyocytes apoptosis was detected with TUNEL method. The expressions of Bcl-2 and Bax proteins in myocardium were tested by immunohistochemistry. The expression of gp 130 was tested with Western blot method. Results The index of cardiomyocytes apoptosis was decreased, the expressions of Bax proteins and gp 130 were decreased and the expression of Bcl-2 proteins was increased in Cap preconditioning group compared with Iso group (P<0.01 or P<0.05). Conclusion The expression of gp 130 could be decreased through Cap preconditioning, which can reduce the cardiomyocytes apoptosis.

AIM:To observe the effect of MK-2206, an inhibitor of Akt, on the cell apoptosis and autophagy of U2OS cells.METHODS:The cell viability was detected by MTT assay .The cell apoptosis was analyzed by TdT-media-ted dUTP nick end labeling assay .The expression of LC3-II was examined by Western blotting .RESULTS:MK-2206 in-hibited the cell viability in a dose-dependent manner .MK-2206 induced the cell apoptosis via activation of caspase-3, caspase-9 and PARP.MK-2206 treatment substantially induced the U 2OS cell autophagy by increasing in the levels of LC 3-II.Blockage of autophagy using chloroquine magnified MK-2206-induced cell death in U2OS cells.CONCLUSION:The Akt inhibitor MK-2206 induces cell apoptosis and autophagy .Blocking autophagy magnifies MK-2206-induced the inhibi-tion of the viability in U2OS cells.

The effects of fish oil rich in eicosapentaenoic acid (C20:5?-3; EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (C22:6?-3; DHA) on serum total cholesterol (TC) and high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) levels were investigated in experimental hypercholesterolemic rats. The fish oil contained about 15% EPA and 43% DHA. Each animal was given 1ml fish oil/day by intragastric feeding for 30 days. The results in twice experiments showed that TC concentration in the serum of rats fed fish oil was markedly decreased as compared to rats fed olive oil, but serum HDL-C elevated. Furthermore, the ratio of HDL-C to TC in the serum was also significantly elevated in rats fed fish oil.

To monitor genetic variation of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV),RT-PCR was used to identify a sample suspected of PRRSV infection.A PRRSV named SC-GY strain was obtained,and its Nsp2,ORF5 and ORF3 genes were used for sequence alignment and phylogenetic tree construction.The results showed that SC-GY strain is highly pathogenic PRRSV American variant strains with Nsp2 gene discontinuous deletion of 30 amino acids,ORF3 gene aa17 a serine (S) insert.Comparing to VR2332,CH-1a,JXA1,HUN4,NADC30,HENAN-XINX and SC2012,the Nsp2,ORF5 and ORF3 of SC-GY shared 70.3％-97.9％,82.4％-97.6％ and 83.1％-98.2％ of nucleotide similarity,and 62.3％-96.3％,78.0％-95.7％ and 81.6％-96.5％ of deduced amino acid similarity;and compared to LV they shared only 18.9％,60.8％ and 63.7％ of nucleotide similarity,and 14.0％,54.9％ and 57.2％ of deduced amino acid similarity.The phylogenetic tree revealed that the SC-GY formed independent small branches although it belonged to the same subgroup as highly pathogenic PRRSV strains.The results showed that in high frequency live vaccine immunization of currently PRRSV,the gene of PRRSV epidemic strain is still in constant variation.Vaccination of live PRRSV vaccines should be reduced and surveillance of PRRSV strains should be enhanced.
