1.Effect of roasting with bran on chemical constituents of Radix Aucklandiae
Chinese Traditional Patent Medicine 2010;(1):84-88
AIM:To study the difference of the chemical constituents between raw Radix Aucklandiae and Radix Aucklandiae roasted with wheat bran.METHODS:UV,HPLC and TLC were performed to analyze the chemical constituents before and after the processing. The constituents absorbed by wheat bran during the processing A.lappa.were isolated by silica gel CC.Their structures were identified by spectral analysis.RESULTS:The result of UV,HPLC and TLC showed that change of the chemical constituents in after the roasting had taken place. Two maior chemical constituents absorbed by wheat bran were dehydrocostus lactone and costunolide.CONCLUSION:The difference in sesquiterpeneoide before and after the processing of Radix Aucklandiae may be the evidence that the roasting with bran is to the benefit oftherapeutic effect.

3.Akt/PKB signaling pathway and cerebral ischemia
International Journal of Cerebrovascular Diseases 2009;17(2):149-152
After being activated by the growth factor-mediated receptor tyrosine kinase phosphorylation, Akt activates a series of substrate molecules, including Forkhead transcription factors etc, which regulate cell survival and death. With the changes of Akt phosphorylation levels (Ser473) after cerebral ischemia, its upstream and downstream protein phosphorylation levels have also changed. Preconditioning may produce ischemic tolerance by changing the levels of Akt protein phosphoryiation. Dysfunction of Akt/PKB signal transduction pathway may mediated neuronal death after cerebral ischemia.
4.An optimized 3-step strategy for preventing and treating post-operation relapse and metastasis of malignant tumors with traditional Chinese medicine
Journal of Integrative Medicine 2007;5(1):5-10
Abstract: Relapse and metastasis are the main causes responsible for failure of surgical operation in treating malignant tumors. This article introduces the present development in post-operation treatment of lung cancer, liver cancer and stomach cancer, showing that the synthetic treatment by stages combined with traditional Chinese medicine is the important way to prevent and treat the post-operation relapse and metastasis of tumors, and suggesting the optimized method for treatment.
6.Pathogens in Urinary Tract Infection Isolated from Elderly Patients:Analysis of Distribution and Drug Resistance
Chinese Journal of Nosocomiology 2006;0(07):-
OBJECTIVE To study the distribution and drug resistance of pathogens in urinary tract infection from elderly patients.METHODS A total of 406 strains isolated from urine culture of the elderly patients were identified and their drug resistance was tested by K-B method.RESULTS Among 406 strains the Gram-negative bacilli accounted for 67.0%.The majority of Gram-negative bacilli were Escherichia coli(156 strains),Proteus,Klebsiella pneumoniae,Enterobacter cloacae,Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Acinetobacter baumannii.Grampositive cocci accounted for 29.1% and Candida albicans accounted for 4.0%,respectively.The resistance rate of the main Gram-negative bacilli to imipenem,cefoperazone/sulbactam and amikacin was relatively low.And all Gram-positive cocci were sensitive to vancomycin.CONCLUSIONS The antimicrobial resistance of pathogens in elderly patients with urinary tract infection is serious. So it is important to monitor the antimicrobial resistance.
7.INFLUENCE OF FOLIC ACID,VB_6,VB_(12) ON HOMOCYSTEINE IN DIABETES MELLITUS
Acta Nutrimenta Sinica 1956;0(03):-
Objective To probe the relationships between homocysteine (Hcy) and folic acid, VB6, VB12. Methods Ninety-eight diabetes mellitus (DM) patients and 31 normal persons were recruited. Fluorescence polarization immunoassay (FPIA) was used to detect Hcy, and double labelled radioimmunoassay to detect folic acid, and VB12. Results The Hcy in DM patients was decreased in folic acid(5 mg/d) group, VB12 (1.5 mg/d), group and folic acid combined with VB12 group. but not in VB6 group. Conclusion Folic acid, VB12, and folic acid combined with VB12 can reduce Hcy in DM patients, but VB6 cannot.

OBJECTIVETo explore the clinical effects of anterior corpectomy decompression and titanium mesh bone graft fusion combined with titanium plate fixation in treatting multilevel cervical spondylotic myelopathy.
METHODSThe clinical data of 48 patients with multilevel cervical spondylotic myelopathy underwent surgical operation were retrospectively analyzed from October 2010 to January 2013. There were 37 males and 11 females, aged from 37 to 76 years old with an average of 54.6 years. Thirty-five cases were two-segment lesion, 7 cases were three-segment lesion, 6 cases were four-segment lesion. All the patients were treated by anterior corpectomy decompression and titanium mesh bone graft fusion combined with titanium plate fixation. ROM, JOA, VAS and SF-36 scores were recorded before and after operation(including 3, 6, 12 months after operation and final follow-up). Fusion degree and spinal canal decompression condition were observed by radiographic data.
RESULTSAll patients were followed up from 14 to 48 months, with an average of 27.3 months. At 12 months after surgery, radiographic data showed that all patients obtained bony fusion, spinal canal decompression were sufficient. Preoperative vertebral canal sagittal diameter of the most serious segment were (5.13 +/- 1.32) mm, 12 months after surgery were (9.94 +/- 1.22) mm, there was statistically significance (t=2.463, P=0.014); the degree of vertebral canal decompression were (92.15 +/- 2.35)%. Postoperative ROM, JOA, VAS and SF-36 scores were obviously improved than that of preoperative (P<0.05); there was no statistically significance of ROM, JOA, VAS and SF-36 scores in each time after operation (P>0.05).
CONCLUSIONAnterior corpectomy decompression and titanium mesh bone graft fusion combined with titanium plate fixation can obtain higher fusion rate, complete thoroughly decompression, improvement of clinical symptoms and well safety in treating multilevel cervical spondylotic myelopathy.
