Objective To study the effects of Shuanghuanglian Oral Solution (only for children) on general condition, body weight, food intake, growth and development, blood routine and pathologic changes of SD weanling rats; To provide experimental references for clinical safe medication. Methods SD weanling rats were randomly divided into control group,Shuanghuanglian (only for children) Oral Solution low-, medium- and high-dose group according to body mass, with 30 rats in each group. Each administration group was given corresponding amount of Shuanghuanglian Oral Solution (only for children) concentrated ointment for gavage, once a day, for 33 d. The toxicity of the rats during dosing period and recovery period (medicine withdrawal 25 d) was observed. Results There were no significant differences in general condition, individual development, organ mass and coefficient, and internal fixation and pathological findings of rats in administration groups during dosing period and recovery period. The body mass and food intake of female and male rats in the Shuanghuanglian Oral Solution high-dose group were lower than those in the control group. The blood routine test during dosing period showed that the lymphocyte ratio of female rats and male rats in Shuanghuanglian Oral Solution high-dose group decreased significantly, neutrophil ratio increased significantly, and then returned to normal level in recovery period. Conclusion Shuanghuanglian Oral Solution (only for children) concentrated ointment has no toxic effect on the whole body organs and tissues of juvenile rats, and the safety is good.

Objective To study the CT findings of ovarian sertoli-leydig cell tumor (SLCT),to improve the understanding of SLCT imaging features. Methods CT images of 6 cases were reviewed retrospectively.CT plain scan was performed in 6 patients;CT enhancement scan was performed in 4 patients. Results All tumors were unilateral. On non-enhanced CT,5 cases showed cystic-solid masses with clear margin, and 1 case showed solid mass. After contrast administration, the cystic walls, septum and solid portions showed progressively obvious enhancement.Of these 6 cases, 3 cases showed increased testosterone levels,2 cases had high prolactin level, and 1 case was with raised AFP in plasma.Positive expressions of immunohistochemical markers were as following:Inhibin-α (6 cases),Vimentin (4 cases),Calretinin (2 cases), CD99 (1 case), Ki-67 (1 case), CK20 (1 case). Conclusion CT findings of SLCT have some certain characteristics, especially a unilateral, cystic-solid and well-defined mass, and marked solid part enhancement on contrast CT.Combined with clinical findings, especially increased plasma testosterone levels, SLCT should be included in the differential diagnosis of regional tumors.

Objective To investigate the role of microRNA-106a and microRNA-106b (miR-106a/b) in diagnosis and prognosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).Methods In this study,108 HCC patients and 54 age-and sex-matched healthy controls were enrolled.Blood samples were collected from each participant, and total RNA was extracted from the plasma. We determined miR-106a/b expression levels using quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR).Results The miR-106a/b expression levels in HCC patients were elevated compared with the healthy controls (P< 0.001).The ROC curve analysis showed that miR-106a/b expression levels could be used to predict the risk of HCC,with AUC values of 0.670 (95% CI:0.573-0.768) and 0.684 (95% CI:0.593-0.776),respectively.The miR-106a expression level in HCC patients correlated positively with hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) presence (P =0.028),differentiation (P =0.025),tumor size (P =0.002),lymph node metastasis (P =0.028),and TNM stage (P =0.037).The miR-106b expression level correlated positively with HBsAg presence (P =0.003),alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) level (P =0.031),and tumor size (P =0.005).To further investigate the correlation of miR-106a/b expression levels with overall survival (OS),Kaplan-Meier curves were plotted. The results showed that HCC patients with high miR-106a expression displayed shorter OS (P =0.013).In addition, univariate and multivariate Cox proportional hazards regression showed that miR-106a was an independent risk factor for HCC prognosis. Conclusion Circulating miR-106a/b expression levels could be used as diagnostic biomarkers for HCC,and a high circulating miR-106a expression level is an independent risk factor for poor prognosis of HCC patients.
