Objective To explore the value of diagnostic laparoscopy on the etiology of complicated abdominal diseases.Methods 31 complicated cases with abdominal pain,ascites and abdominal mass underwent video laparoscopy and biopsy, the comparision in diagnostic grades between laparoscopy, ascites cytology and scanning techniques was done. Result All cases underwent laparoscopy successfully and 97% cases were diagnosed clearly by biopsy and histology, in which the cause of 11 cases(36%)were rare. 2.Study on Induced Metronidazole Resistance of Helicobacter Pylori

Objective To search the feasibility of mutation,RdxA gene was analyzed by the metronidazole induction experiment.Method The non-multiple,sensitive H.pylori strains,were selected and subjected to metronidazole induction experiment,which made H.pylori strains transform susceptibility to resistance.Extracted DNA of metronidazole sensitive and resistant pairs of H.pylori strains before and after induced,amplified by PCR and sequenced rdxA gene.Result 4 of 12 H.pylori strains were induced successfully with metronidazole whose MICs increased by 16~64 times.Strains were transferred three times on metronidazole-free medium and the MICs redetermined were the same as those after induced.There was 0.2~0.8% difference between pairs of metronidazole sensitive and resistant H.pylori strains.There was 2.2~2.7% difference between unrelated H.pylori strains.Conclusion The metronidazole induction experiment could make H.pylori acquire stable resistance to metronidazole in a short period and exclude that the natural polymorphism of rdxA gene influenced on mutation analysis.There was good hope that the experiment would become a good method to research metronidazole resistance mechanism
3.Dissemination of insertion sequences IS605, IS606 among clinical isolates of Helicobacter pylori in China.

OBJECTIVETo study the distribution of IS605, IS606 among clinical isolates of Helicobacter pylori in China.
METHODSA total of 104 H.pylori strains isolated from 5 different geographic regions in China were analyzed by PCR and dot-blot.
RESULTSForty-two strains out of the 104 isolates from 5 regions in China were found containing IS605 with 19 containing IS606. The frequency (66%) of IS605 positive strains from Yunnan province was higher than that from other areas. The different distribution of IS606 was neither associated with geographical regions nor with the presence of IS605 but IS606 were associated with the different clinical outcomes. However, the two reading frames ORFA and ORFB of IS605 were constantly coexisting.
CONCLUSIONIn China, IS605 and IS606 of H. pylori were widely existing but the presence of IS605 in H. pylori might be associated with geographic origin.
