1.AFFERENT CONNECTIONS OF THE PREOPTIC REGION——STUDIED WITH HRP METHOD IN THE RAT
Acta Anatomica Sinica 1957;0(04):-
The afferent connections of the magnocellular preoptic (poma), lateral preoptic (pol), and medial preoptic (pom)nuclei have been investigated with horseradish peroxidase (HRP) method in the rat. Our findings indicated that1. poma mainly receives projection from the rhinencephalic structures including the anterior olfactory nucleus, olfactory tubercle, piriform cortex, entorhinal cortex, the nucleus of lateral olfactory tract, the anterior amygdaloid area, and the cortical amygdaloid nucleus;2. pom mainly receives afferent fibers from some of the medial hypothalamic nuclei;3. pol has the most extensive fiber input, mainly from some of the brain stem nuclei; and4. poma is the only one of the preoptic nuclei which has reciprocal connections with the contralateral forebrain structrues. It is interesting that the poma and pol receive the afferent fibers from different prefrontal cortical regions and the dorsal portion of pom may have input from the lateral reticular nucleus and nucleus tractus solitarii that the ventral portion may not have.In addition, a large number of HRP-labeled cells could be seen in the supraoptic nucleus after injecting any one of the preoptic nuclei and the possible signification was discussed.

Acta Anatomica Sinica 1955;0(03):-
The distribution and morphological characteristics of CA-containing cell bodies of diencephalon in 7-9monthold fetuses were studied by means of Faglu histofluoresccnce method. Although the general distribution of CA cell bodies in the human diencephalon observed in the present study is similar to that in other mammals, there are some significant differences. A great number of CA neurons occur within the lateroventral hypothalamic zone. There are more numerous larger CA neurons distributed outside the periventricular gray in human diencephalon.

Acta Anatomica Sinica 1955;0(03):-
The distribution and morphological characteristics of catecholamine(CA)-containing neurons in the human brain stem of 7-9-month-old fetuses were studied by using Faglu histofluorescence method. The distribution of the main CA groups is consistent with the data provided by the literature concerning human infant and adult except for the presence of numerous small premature-looking fluorescent cells in the fetal area postrema which is lacking in the human infant and adult. As compared with most studies of other animals, the CA neurons of the dorsocaudal extension of the locus coeruleus in human appear to be more extensive and do not close to the ependyma of the fourth ventricle. Moreover, the CA neuronal population in human midbrain become more hypertrophic and appear to be more complexly organized in comparison with those in animals.

Objective To explore a simple and effective epicanthoplasty. Methods A total of 65 cases were corrected by incising the epicanthus levelly, extending the incision along the lower palpebral margin, separating the skin about 1 cm×1 cm scope below incision, cutting off part of the orbicularis and epicanthus ligament, fixing epicanthus angle to nasal aponeurosis, and suturing the incision without tension. Results All the cases corrected by the transverse-one's procedure were followup one month to one year, and satisfactory results obtained. Conclusion This method is a simple and effective epicanthoplasty with less tissue damage and good appearance.

Objective To analyse the clinical efficacy of combined therapy of super-pulsed CO2 laser and traditional Chinese medicine on the prevention and treatment of post-traumatic hypertrophic scar, and to discuss effective comprehensive therapy for hypertrophic scars. Methods 108 cases of early post-traumatic hypertrophic scar were divided randomly into three groups with 36 cases each: combined treatment group of super-pulsed CO2 laser and traditional Chinese medicine (combined group), Chinese medicine treatment group (Chinese medicine group) and simple laser-treated group (laser group). They were regularly treated for 6 months and followed up for longer than 1 year. Clinical effects were evaluated according to scar property and subjective symptoms in patients. Results The total effective rate was 97.2 % and 86.1% in combined group and Chinese medicine group that were higher than 61.1 % in laser group. Obviously effective rate of the three methods were 55. 6 %, 27.8 % and 11. 1 %, respectively, and the difference of obviously effective rate between combined group and other two groups was significally different. Conclusion The method combined with super-pulsed CO2 laser and traditional Chinese medicine for prevention and treatment of post-traumatic hypertrophic scar has advantages of high obviously effective rate, long-term and stable effects, less complication, and it can achieve satisfactory cosmetic effects.

Objective To explore a surgical method which can not only remove the enormous breast tumor entirely, but also maintain the breast function and obtain satisfactory shape. Methods On the basis of traditional round block technique, we designed different form's outer ring and breast lateral Sshaped incision line according to the size of breast tumor and the degree of the papillae ptosis, trimmed away the epidermis between the two circles, a S-shape skin incision along lateral border of breast was made; after reaching to the capsule of tumor, we stripped off the tumor entirely along capsule surface, a large breast cavus subdermalis remained, and then made full use of the dermal-fat flap or dermal-fat breast flap to fill the cavity after tumor removal so that the shape of breast was reconstructed. Results All of the 5 cases maintained the breast function and satisfactory shape after surgery, no sensory obstacle and necrosis occurred in the papillae and areola, and the wound reached good healing. Up to 2 years of follow-up there was no recurrence of tumor was found. Conclusions The modified round block' technique is an i-deal method for removal of a huge breast tumor. The design is nimble and simple, and postoperative breast shape is satisfactory with light scar formation.

Objective To explore the value of 3D-ASL parameters for predicting glioma grade before operation and the relationship between the expression of Ki-67 and microvessel density(MVD).Methods 3DASL images of 50 patients with pathologically proven gliomas (high grade:n=20,1ow grade:n 30) were analyzed retrospectively. The mean maximum relative cerebral blood flow was obtained by the hot spot method. The Ki-67 labeling index and MVD of surgical specimen were measured. The results were analyzed statistically. Results The mean rCBF,Ki-67 and MVD of low grade gliomas (n=30) were 1.69±1.27,3.73%±3.01%,25.43±13.03,while the high grade gliomas (n=20) were 3.18± 1.46,49.25% ±20.15%,58.69±20.39 respectively. The difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P<0.01),which was positively correlated with the grade(r=0.620,0.871,0.698,P<0.01).rCBF was positively correlated with Ki-67 and MVD (r =0.535,0.723,P <0.01).Ki 67 labeling index was positively correlated with MVD (r=0.629,P<0.01).Conclusion The rCBF value is useful for predicting glioma grade before operation and related to tumor MVD and cell proliferation. The biologic behavior of glioma can be predicted to a certain extent.
