Acta Nutrimenta Sinica 1956;0(03):-
The first national epidemiologic survey of obesity of children 0-7 years old in urban area in China was conducted in 1986. A sampling size was 167,065 of eight main cities representing North, Middle and South of China (The cities are: Beijin, Harbin, Xian, Nanjing, Shanghai, Wuhan, Fuzhou and Kunming). The definiton of obesity is that the weight for height of children is more than 20% of the weight for height of relatively well-nourished reference population of China. The prevalence is 0.9% (boy 0.93%, girl 0.90%). The geographical contribution of prevalence is 1.76% in North, 0.89% in Middle, 0.42% in South. The criteria period of obesity is 0-3 months and 4-5 years after birth.Bottle feeding, early introducing solid food (1-2 months after birth), early weaning and overfeeding are "obesiogenic" feeding pattern. Overeating much meat and less fruit and less activity in room are"obesiogenic"life pattern. It is estimated that the resourse of obese children will mainly" come from low income family in future. Parents' attitude plays an important role in aspect of overfeeding of obese children. The factor of spoiling children can not be ignored in etiology of obesity in childhood. The Chinese traditional social custom and cultural philosophy such as children's activity always being limited can result in higher prevalence of severe obesity in boys.Under the situation of economic, cultural and child health care service in China, now, the birth weight is not a good indicator of obesity in late life. Obesity in preschool children is not associated with hypertension. The author indicated that obesity has become a health problem of children in China. Attention should be focused on the popular health education on nutrition knowledge and changing the unresonable feeding pattern and life style.

Microbiology 1992;0(06):-
Brucella organisms are facultative intracellular bacteria capable of surviving inside professional and non-professional phagocytes.Upon cell contact the bacteria is internalized via receptor molecules.Once inside cells,Brucella localizes in early phagosomes, where it avoids fusion with late endosomes and lysosomes. Then, the bacterium redirects its trafficking to autophagosomes and finally reaches the endoplasmic reticulum, the replicating niche.Once inside the endoplasmic reticulum,Brucella extensively replicates without restricting basic cellular functions or inducing damage to cells.Invasion, intracellular trafficking and replication of Brucella organisms in professional and non-professional phagocytes and the molecular determinants involving Brucella intracellular life are reviewed in this article.

Hedgehog signaling pathway is a conserved and important signaling pathway involved in proliferation and differentiation of many types of cells. Latest studies have found that Hedgehog signaling pathway may induce MSCs osteoblast differentiation by increasing the expression of the Runx2 and Osx and inhibit MSCs differentiate to adipocyte. Hedgehog signaling pathway may also promote osteoblast proliferation by regulating cyclin. This review summarizes the mechanism that Hedgehog signaling pathway regulates osteoblast differentiation and proliferation, and concludes that Hedgehog signaling pathway can regulate bone metabolism. It might provide new ideas for the treatment of osteoporosis.

OBJECTIVETo assess the association between SIRT1 gene polymorphisms and the longevity phenomena in Yongfu region of Guangxi. In this case-control study, 500 individuals from Yongfu region of Guangxi were recruited. The subjects were divided into a longevity group (n=223, average age=93.17 U+00B1 3.08 yr) and a healthy control group (n=277, average age=46.92 U+00B1 17.12 yr). Polymerase chain reaction-high resolution melting curve (PCR-HRM) and DNA sequencing were used to determine the allelic and genotypic frequencies of rs3758391, rs3740051, rs2273773, rs4746720 and rs10997870 polymorphisms of SIRT1 gene in the two groups. The association between above polymorphisms and longevity was assessed.
RESULTSIn the longevity group, CT genotype of the rs4746720 locus was significantly more common than CC and TT genotypes (P=0.000, OR=2.098, 95%CI:1.412-4.117). However, no significant difference was found in the allelic and genotypic frequencies of rs3758391, rs3740051 and rs2273773 between the two groups.
CONCLUSIONThere is an association between rs4746720 of SIRT1 gene and longevity in Yongfu region of Guangxi.
