Objective To investigate factors related to alexithymia of patients with asthma.Methods 52 patients with asthma were assessed with TAS-26,POMS-SF and EPQ-RSC.Results Compared with normal model control , patients with asthma showed alexithymia(t=2.15～5.29,P＜0.05～0.01). There was negative correlation between the total score of TAS,Ⅰ,Ⅱ, Ⅲ , Ⅳ and E(r=-0.372～-0.451,P＜0.01), between Ⅲ and N (r=-0.37,P＜0.01).There was opposite correlation between the total score of TAS,Ⅰ, Ⅱand N (r=0.312～0.415,P＜0.01),and between Ⅱ, Ⅳ and P(r=0.531～0.621,P＜0.01). There was close relation between alexithymia and mood state. There was opposite correlation between the total score of TAS,Ⅰ,Ⅱ, Ⅳ and the total score of POMS, TA,DD,AH,FI , CB(r=0.449～0.779,P＜0.01). There was negative correlation between the total score of TAS,Ⅰ,Ⅱand VA (r=-0.418～-0.544,P＜0.05～0.01),and between Ⅳ and VA(r=-0.320,P＜0.05).Conclusion Patients with asthma have alexithymia.There was close relation between alexithymia,personality traits and mood state.

AIM: To explore the effect of Bu Shen Yang Xue Ming Mu (BSYXMM) Formula on hydroquinone-induced oxidative stress injury in ARPE-19 cells.METHODS: The oxidative injury model of ARPE-19 cell was induced by exposure to various concentrations of hydroquinone (HQ) to determine the optimal concentration.Intestinal absorption solutions of BSYXMM Formula were prepared.Effect of intestinal absorption solutions of BSYXMM Formula on the cell viability was detected by CCK-8 assay,and the percentage of apoptotic cells was measured by TUNEL assay.The levels of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) in ARPE-19 cells were detected by means of chemical colorimetry.RESULTS: It was found that ARPE-19 cell viability significantly decreased when the concentration of HQ was higher than 90μmol/L.Compared with the model group,1% and 2% intestinal absorption solutions in the pre-treatment group could significantly alleviate HQ-induced injury (P<0.01) and 0.5% and 5% intestinal absorption solutions in the pre-treatment group could alleviate the injury in certain degree(P<0.05).While in the treatment group 1% and 2% intestinal absorption solutions could alleviate the injury to some extent (P<0.05).TUNEL results showed that the apoptosis rate decreased significantly in the pre-treatment group (P<0.01)and to some extent in the treatment group (P<0.05)compared with the model group.It was shown that both levels of SOD and GSH-Px in pre-treatment group and treatment group were markedly higher than that of model group(P<0.05),and pre-treatment group had more significant effect (P<0.01,P<0.05).CONCLUSION: BSYXMM Formula could protect against HQ-induced oxidative stress injury in ARPE-19 cells,which may be related with the increasing of antioxidant enzyme in the cells.

Objective To explore the effect of suramin on the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and the excretion of transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1) in peritoneal mesothelial cells (PMCs) induced by high concentrations of glucose solution (GS).Methods Cultured PMCs were divided into three groups:(1) normal control group; (2) GS-treated group:cells were treated with 1.5％,2.5％,4.25％ GS for 12 h,24 h,48 h,respectively; (3) Suramin-treated group:PMCs cultured with 4.25％ GS were exposed to different doses of suramin (25,50,100 μmol/L) for 48 h.Expression levels of α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA) and E-cadherin were detected by Western blotting and the concentration of TGF-β1 in the culture supernatant was determined by ELISA.Results Compared with normal control group,GS-treated PMCs exhibited a time-dependent increase in the expression of α-SMA,and decrease in the expression of E-cadherin.GS also stimulated PMCs to secrete TGF-β1.In the presence of suramin,GS-induced α-SMA expression and TGF-β1 production were reduced,E-cadherin expression was increased.Conclusions Suramin can inhibit high glucose-induced EMT of PMCs by down-regulating the expression of TGF-β1.Suramin may be a novel therapeutic agent for the treatment of peritoneal fibrosis.

Objective To investigate the effects of Xuebijing on the regulations of tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) 、von Wilebrand factor(vWF)、interleukin-6 (IL-6) and the treatment effectiveness in pulmonary contusion patients.Methods Fifty-one pulmonary contusion patients admitted into the hospital from January 2010 to January 2012 were enrolled in the study and were randomly divided into two groups (treatment group and control group).The levels of the TNF-α、vWF 、IL-6 in the pulmonary contusion patients were measured by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay to investigate the change of the inflammatory cytokines and the treatment effectiveness in treatment group and control group.Results The hospitalization time of treatment group and control group was (19.83 ± 2.35) d,(21.52 ± 2.73) d respectively,the hospitalization time of the treatment group was significantly shorter than the control group,the difference was statistically significant (t =2.38,P ＜0.05) ;The incidence of ARDS was 14.81％ and 41.67％ respectively,the incidence of ARDS of the treatment group was significantly lower,the difference was statistically significant (x2 =4.6,P ＜ 0.05) ;The inflammatory mediators index of the two groups showed as follws:the first day of the TNF-α(181.35 ± 14.25) ng/L,(179.17 ± 16.28) ng/L,the third day of the TNF-α(169.21 ± 16.42) ng/L,(179.18 ± 17.31) ng/L,the fifth day of the TNF-α(131.78 ± 13.02) ng/L,(140.84 ± 14.27) ng/L,the seventh day of the TNF-α (99.45 ± 16.02)ng/L,(110.56 ± 17.09) ng/L;The first day of the vWF (178.73 ± 22.09) ng/L,(177.73 ± 23.02) ng/L,the third day of the vWF (208.46 ± 14.13) ng/L,(220.53 ± 23.02) ng/L,the fifth day of the vWF (252.32 ±15.22) ng/L,(266.40 ±25.79) ng/L,the seventh day of the vWF(201.49 ±9.21) ng/L,(217.27 ±22.68)ng/L;The first day of the IL-6 (172.14 ± 12.41) ng/L,(169.53 ± 13.55) ng/L,the third day of the IL-6 (147.24 ± 16.33) ng/L,(158.41 ±21.04) ng/L,the fifth day of the IL-6(126.36 ± 11.37) ng/L,(137.21 ± 21.23) ng/L,the seventh day of the IL-6 (114.03 ± 10.26) ng/L,(122.16 ± 13.59) ng/L,the differences within the group and between the two groups were significant(within the group:F =206.58,218.57,198.35 respectively,P ＜ 0.01 ;between the groups:F =19.053,17.259,17.235 respectively,P ＜ 0.01).And in the third,fifth and seventh day,3 indicators of treatment groups were lower than the control group (P ＜ 0.01).Conclusion Xuebijing can inhibit inflammatory transmitters,relieve inflammatory reactions,decrease the rate of ARDS incidence,shorten the hospitalization time and help to improve the prognosis of the patients with acute pulmonary contusion.

Methods: 52 patients with asthma were assessed with TAS, SCL-90 and EPQ-RSC. Results: Compared with normal model control, patients with asthma showed alexithymia. There was negative correlation between the total score of TAS,Ⅰ,Ⅱ, Ⅲ, Ⅳ and EPQ-E, Ⅲ and EPQ-N. There was positive correlation between the total score of TAS,Ⅰ, Ⅱ, and N, Ⅱ, Ⅳ with EPQ-P. There was positive correlation between the total scores of TAS and the factors of SCL-90 except phobia. There was positive correlation between I,Ⅱ,Ⅳ and somatozation, depression, anxiety, and psychoticism; Ⅲ, Ⅳ were positively correlated with obsessive-compulsive, paranoid ideation, psychoticism; Ⅳ was positively correlated with interpersonal sensitivity, hostility. Conclusion: Patients with asthma have alexithymia. There is close relation between alexithymia, mental health and personality traits.

?AlM: To explore the effects of the prescription of reinforcing kidney, nourishing blood, improving eyesight on the oxidative stress model of ARPE-19 cells induced by acrolein.
?METHODS:SD rats serum containing the prescription of reinforcing kidney, nourishing blood, improving eyesight and the content of distilled water in serum were prepared. The effects of the prescription and distilled water in serum at different concentration ( 2. 5%, 5%, 10%, 20% and 40%) on cell vitality was observed by cell counting kit ( CCK-8 ) assay. the logarithmic phase of ARPE-19 cells were pretreated by different concentrations (1. 25%, 2. 5%and 5%) of the prescription serum and distilled water in serum for 24h. Then it was treated with 75μmol/L acrolein for 24h. Cell vitality was observed by CCK-8 assay. The change of cell nucleus was detected by DAPl staining .
?RESULTS: 2. 5% and 5% serum had no effect on cell viability (P>0. 05), while 10%, 20%, 40% serum could inhibit cell viability (P<0. 05). CCK-8 results showed that 2. 5% and 5% the prescription of reinforcing kidney, nourishing blood, improving eyesight serum was better than distilled water in serum (P<0. 05).
?CONCLUSlON: The prescription of reinforcing kidney, nourishing blood, improving eyesight has the protective effect on ARPE-19 cell damage induced by acrolein.

Objective To study the effect of personality characteristics on the quality of life in asthma patients. Methods A total of 769 cases asthma patients were investigated by schedule table EPQ-RSC, AQLQ. With the SPSS10.0, t-test, correlation analysis and multivariable stepwise regression analysis were carried out for the collected data. Results ①The total level of life quality of asthma patients was worse. ②The quality of life of asthma patients was related negatively to dimension N of personality characteristics, and it was related positively to dimension E of personality characteristics. ③ Dimension N of personality characteristics entered the regression equation of quality of life. Conclusion Dimension N of personality characteristics is an important factor for affecting the quality of life in asthma patients.

OBJECTIVE:To study the cost-effectiveness of4dose regimens in treating chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic cavity pain syndrome(CP/CPPS).METHODS:A total of140patients with CP/CPPS were randomly divided into4groups:Baiyanjing tablets and tamsulosin hydrochloride modified release capsules were administered for Group A;minocycline micro pills and alfuzosin retard tablets for Group B;rexithromycin tablets and doxazosin mesylate controlled release tablets for Group C;and levofloxacin tablets and terazosin tablets for Group D.The cost-effectiveness analysis was performed using pharma?coeconomics.RESULTS:The costs for the Group A,B,C and D were268.8yuan,641.8yuan,660.8yuan and666.4yuan,respectively.The effective rates were71.4%,91.4%,88.6%and91.4%,respectively.The cost-effectiveness ratios were3.76,7.02,7.46and7.29,respectively.The incremental cost-effectiveness ratios of Group B,C and D were18.65,22.79and19.88,respectively as against Group A.CONCLUSION:The treatment cost of CP/CPPS was composed of2parts:an?tibiotics? 1 -receptor blockers.Doctors should make an optimum choice based on patients'previous medication,economic status and physical condition,etc.
