Objective To investigate the evidence of cortical reorganization in stroke hemiplegia treated with constraint-induced movement therapy(CIMT)by fMRI.Methods Five patients with chronic stroke were evaluated with the Action Research Arm Test(ARAT).The functional MRI(fMRI)was performed on a 3.0-T MRI with echo-planar imaging. The subjects were required to finish the finger-tapping task and undergo fMRI before and after CIMT.A block design was used for the inspection. Results After CIMT,the function of upper limb(sick side)of patients improved significantly assessed by ARAT(P<0.001),and cortical reorganization was found on fMRI.Conclusion CIMT can improve motor function of upper limb of chronic stroke patients with hemiplegia and induce cortical reorganization as measured by fMRI.

OBJECTIVETo explore the operation methods and clinical effects of transfer of the medial half of the coracoacromial ligament to reconstruct the coracoclavicular ligament in treating complete acromioclavicular joint dislocation.
METHODSFrom January 2006 to June 2012,26 patients with acute complete acromioclavicular joint dislocation underwent surgery. Transfer of the medial half of the coracoacromial ligament to reconstruct the coracoclavicular ligament, additional clavical hoot plate and Kirschner wires fixation, were performed in all the patients. Among the patients, 18 patients were male and 8 patients were female, with an average age of 36.7 years old (ranged from 25 to 51 years). The duration from injury to operation was from 3 to 12 days with an average of 5 days. According to the Rockwood classification, 4 cases were grade III and 22 cases were grade V . Clinical manifestation included local swelling, tenderness with snapping, limitation of shoulder joint motion. In preoperative bilateral shoulder joint X-rays, the injured coracoclavicular distance was (16.2 ± 5.0) mm which was significantly wider than that of uninjured sides (7.6 ± 1.0) mm. Clinical results were evaluated according to X-rays and Constant-Murley score.
RESULTSAll incisions obtained primary healing after operation without complication of infection, internal fixation breakage, redislocation. All the patients were followed up from 12 to 30 months with an average of 18 months. Kirschner wires and internal fixation plate were removed at 1 month and 8-10 months after operation, respectively. At final follow-up, the motion of shoulder joint recovered to normal and a no pain joint was obtained. According to Constant-Murley score, 24 cases got excellent results and 2 cases good. There was no significant difference after operation between the injured coracoclavicular distance and the uninjured contralateral side [(7.7 ± 1.2) mm vs (7.6 ± 1.0) mm), P > 0.05].
CONCLUSIONTransfer of the medial half of the coracoacromial ligament to reconstruct the coracoclavicular ligament, additional fixation using hook plate and Kirschner wires is the effective surgical method in treating complete acute acromioclavicular joint dislocation.

Objective To investigate the effects of Epigallocatechin gallate(EGCG)on IL-1βinduced MIN6 cells apoptosis. M.Methods The experiment group was divided into control group,IL-1β group,IL-1β+ EGCG low concentration group and IL-1β+EGCG high concentration group.Cell activity was detected by CCK8.Insulin secretion was detected by ELISA.cell apoptosis was detected by flow cytometry. The mitochondrial membrane potential was detected by flow cytometry.ATP content and cell ac-tivity of ROS were detected by colorimetry and chemiluminescence method. Results Compared with normal group,IL-1β group showed much lower cell activity, insulin secretion, cell mitochondrial membrane potential and ATP content, and at the same time IL-1βgroup had significantly higher cell apoptosis and ROS activities. After given EGCG,both low concentration group and high con-centration group had higher cell activity, insulin secretion, cell mitochondrial membrane potential and ATP content,at the same time lower cell apoptosis and ROS activities was showed. And the IL-1β+EGCG high concentration group worked more powerful.Con-clusion EGCG has protective effects on IL-1βinduced MIN6 cells apoptosis. Its mechanism may be related to increasing the content of the ATP and mitochondrial membrane potential and protecting mitochondrial function as well reducing the activity of ROS.

The results of open-field test,step-through passive avoidance task and radial-arm maze experiment showed that changes of locomotor activity,anxiety-related behaviour and ability of learning and memory were associated with the increased apoptosis of neurons in hippocampus in rats with perinatal hypothyroidism.

Objective To delineate the speculation that triple combination of small doses of calcium antagonist (levoamlodipine),the ACEI(imidapril)and the ARB(candesartan)may exert more significantly effect on mi- croalbuminuria(MAU)in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and hypertension. Methods One hundred sixty ca- ses of consecutive patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and hypertension were randomized to receive following vari- ous combinations:amlodipine 2.5 mg/candesartan 4 mg(n=40),candesartan 4 mg/imidapril 5 mg(n=40);imidapril 5 mg/amlodipine 2.5 mg(n=40),and amlodipine 2.5 mg/candesartan 4,mg plus imidapril 5 mg(n=40).The changes in blood pressure and MAU were determined before and after treatment. Results Four combinations of treatment all significantly lowered BP(P
