3.FlU Zhonghua's clinical experience of Fu's subcutaneous needling for cervical spondylosis.
Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2015;35(8):823-826
Professor FU Zhonghua's unique clinical experience of Fu's subcutaneous needling (FSN) for cervical spondylosis (CS) is discussed in this paper, which is analyzed from the aspects of recognition of CS pathogenesis, treatment mechanism of FSN, advantage indications of FSN for CS and examples of medical cases. Professor FU introduced the theory of myofascial trigger points (MTrP) into the field of the management of CS. The site of neck MTrP should be carefully examined, and FSN needles for single use are used to sweep the affected area or subcutaneous layer of adjacent upper limb. This method can rapidly improve ischemia and hypoxia state of the relevant muscles and prompt the self-recovery of neck muscles. During FSN treatment, reperfusion approach is recommended to adopt to improve the qi and blood circulation and recovery of neck function.

6.Effects of safflower oil on adipose-associated gene expression in mice
Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 2012;28(1):76-78
Seventy C57BL/6 mice were divided into control group, lard group, lard transferred into safflower oil group, and safflower oil group. After 20 weeks, the white adipose tissues were taken to analyse the gene differentiational expression prolife. The results showed that body weight, blood glucose and lipids, and insulin levels in lard group were higher than those in control group( all P<0.05 ),which were decreased after lard was transferred into safflower oil for 10 weeks( all P<0.05 ).Safflower oil regulated some of the orexigenic genes, anorectic genes, and the genes involved in energy expenditure in adipose tissues such as opioid receptor, glucagon, and PPARα.
7.Two Conformations of Native Pseudomonas aeruginosa Apoazurin in Solution
Progress in Biochemistry and Biophysics 2006;33(6):567-573
The mechanism of complex unfolding process of Pseudomonas aeruginosa apoazurin is an arguing problem. Recent published results indicated that this problem could be resolved by hypothesizing two native conformations coexisting in solution.Urea-induced unfolding of apoazurin was investigated further using intrinsinc fluorescence and CD spectra. Equilibrium unfolding curves in urea could be depicted with an apparent two-state transition, but a biphase kinetic process. The fast unfolding process is finished within a few seconds as monitored by stopped-flow fluorescence intensity, whereas the slow process requires several hours for as well as the circular dichroism spectra just after manual mixing of protein and denaturant could be simulated by superposition of the spectra of the native and fully unfolded protein with the same coefficient of 0.37. This strongly suggests the three-state mechanism with a partially unfolded intermediate on its pathway is inadequate. The hypothesis of two native conformations coexistence is a reasonable selection.
8.SOX1 and tumor
Journal of International Oncology 2013;40(8):566-569
SOX1,a member of the SOX transcript factor super family, has been demonstrated having the functions of regulating the development of human embryonic neural system and crystalline lens, and the additional function of SOX1 in tumors are attracting more and more attention as well.It is reported in resent years that SOX1 is detected lowly expressed in many kinds of tumor issues, which owns to the methylation of SOX1.SOX1 can also regulate the abilities of tumors on proliferation, invasion and migration.Besides,SOX1 may play a crucial role in regulation of the differentiation of cancer stem cells.Further research of SOX1 and its function among related pathways may contribute to seeking for new therapies for tumor treatment.
9.Reform and practice of dual-track teaching mode during the clinical pathology in Chinese Medicine Universities
China Medical Equipment 2016;13(10):117-120
Objective:Dual-track teaching mode in higher colleges and universities of Chinese medicine in clinical pathology teaching reform and practice, so as to change the phenomenon of university students of traditional Chinese medicine western medicine foundation weak, and improve the teaching quality of clinical pathology. Methods: We use the traditional teaching method (LBL) and teaching method of the problem-based learning (PBL) to make double-track recess internship teaching model in clinical pathology, and in practice use the access type, interactive type and potential mining methods to motivate the students’ learning. Results: The dual-track teaching model realizes complementary teaching effect of a variety of teaching methods, makes the teaching quality enhance unceasingly. It not only exercises the students’ ability of autonomous learning, cultivate the students’ clinical thinking, but also stimulates students’ imagination and improves the students’ ability to analyze and solve practical problems. Conclusion: The dual-track teaching mode is worth popularizing in the higher colleges and universities of traditional Chinese medicine, and it can improve the students’ comprehensive quality and innovation and make it better from students to the role of the doctor.
10.Fatty acid-binding proteins and the early diagnosis of cardio-cerebrovascular diseases
International Journal of Cerebrovascular Diseases 2010;18(2):128-131
Currently, the commonly used diagnostic markers have the shortcomings of lower sensitivity or specificity in the early diagnosis of cardio-cerebrovascular diseases. Therefore, it needs to use the novel specific biochemical markers for the early diagnosis arid treatment, so as to decrease the high mortality and disability caused by cardio-cerebrovascular events. Fatty acid-binding proteins (FABPs) are a family of low-molecular-weight intracellular lipid-binding proteins. They are divided into 9 different subtypes, including the liver-, intestinal-, heart-, brain-, adipocyte-, skin-, ileal-, myelin-, and testis-subtype. Their primary function is to transport long-chain fatty acids into the cells, and thus regulate intracellular lipid metabolism. The structures of all FABP subtypes are similar, inclusive of two α2 helices arid one β2 fold structure. Among them, the sensitivities and specificities of the heart- and brain-subtype FABPs are higher in the early diagnosis of cardio-cerebrovascular diseases. It is promising to become the novel markers in the early diagnosis of cardio-cerebrovascular diseases.
