1.ENGLISH ABSTRACTS OF ORIGINAL ARTICLES Effect of Mixed Cord Blood Culture on CFU-GM Yield
Chinese Journal of Blood Transfusion 1988;0(01):-
The amount of CFU-GM colony and cluster yielded after the two units of cord blood were mixed, was observed, using the in vitro CFU-GM culture technique, indicating that the yield of CFU-GM colony and cluster in the mixed culture group was no less than that in the single culture group, so this study can provide the theoritical basis for the transplantation of mixed cord blood hematopoietic stem cells.
2.Study of Quantity and Quality of Colony Forming Unit-Granulogyte and Macrophase(CFU-GM)in Neonate Cord Blood
Chinese Journal of Blood Transfusion 1988;0(01):-
The CFU-GM in 30 full-term newborn cord blood were cultured on the mon-olayer agar and compared with those,in quatity and quality,of cord blood, adultbone marrow and peripheral blood,indicating:1.The CFU-GM in newborn cordblood were in a state of the active proliferization with characterization of rapiddivision, early colony appearance, largy colony volume and more filial cell con-tainment;2.The yield of CFU-GM and cluster in full-term newborn cord blo-od ranged between those in the adult bone marrow and peripheral blood but variedgreatly from one individual to another, the yield of CFU-GM in 13 3% cordblood samples was higher than that in the bone marrow cultured at the same time.In addition, the colony type of CFU-GM in cord blood, adult bone marrow andperipheral blood was different, suggesting that the CFU-GM in cord blood mightbe a different subtype.
3.Effects of Danshen Decoction on experimental gastric ulcer in rats and mice
Journal of Integrative Medicine 2005;3(1):35-8
OBJECTIVE: To investigate the preventive and therapeutic effects of Danshen Decoction on gastric ulcer in experimental animal models. METHODS: The model of water immersion restraint stress ulcer in mice, and the models of acetic acid impaired gastric ulcer and pyloric ligation gastric ulcer in rats were established. The total gastric acid, the activity of pepsin and the amount of gastric wall binding mucus were detected. RESULTS: Danshen Decoction reduced the acute gastric mucosal lesion. The effect of 5.0 or 10.0 g/kg group was obviously better than that of the normal saline control group (P<0.05 and P<0.01 respectively). Danshen Decoction accelerated the healing of ulcer induced by acetic acid significantly, and increased the content of gastric wall binding mucus (P<0.01); and it also inhibited the formation of gastric ulcer induced by pyloric ligation, while having no influence on the secretion of gastric acid and the activity of pepsin. CONCLUSION: Danshen Decoction has a significant anti-ulcerative effect, which may be related to improving the gastric mucosal defensive function.
4.Effect of polysaccharide from spirulina platensis on hematopoietic recovery and related cytokines in mice with transplant tumor after treated by chemotherapy
Chinese Journal of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics 2000;0(02):-
AIM: To evaluate the effect of polysaccharide from spirulina platensis (PSP) on hematopoietic recovery and related cytokines in mice with transplant tumor after treated by chemotherapy. METHODS: The tumor cells were subcutaneously injected in the right forefoot to induce transplant solid tumor in mice. The mice were ig with PSP for 10 d and injected intraperitoneally with cyclophosphamide (CTX) for 3 d. On d 11, the count of peripheral blood cell, nucleated cell in bone marrow and CFU-S (Colony Forming Unit-Spleen) was observed; The content of DNA in bone marrow was inspected by UV-spectrophotometer; The cytokines in serums were inspected by double antibody sandwich ELISA. RESULTS: CTX could induce evident myelosuppression. But PSP could elevate the level of peripheral blood cell, increase nucleated cell and DNA in bone marrow, and promote CFU-S formation. In addition, PSP could also increase the content of IL-1, IL-3, GM-CSF, and TNF-? in serum. CONCLUSION: It is probably that PSP accelerates the hematopoietic recovery in mice with transplant tumor treated by chemotherapy by promoting endogenous cytokines secretion.
5.ANTI-INFLAMMATORY AND IMMUNOPHARMACOLOGICAL EFFECT OF XINJIANG FERULA OIL
Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1986;0(05):-
The emulsifiers of the ferula oil was shown to suppress markedly the swelling of the hind paw induced by injection of carrageenin and to suppress the increase of vascular permeability induced by intrad-ermal HA or 5-HT in rats. It also showed significant suppressive effects on oedema of rats hind paw induced by CFA.Experimental results indicated that it has inhibiting effect on DTH by SRBC in mice and suppressing on lymphocytes transformation induced by PHA.
6.Effect of Danshen Yin on Gastric Mucosal Defensive Factors in rats with Gastric Ulcer
Traditional Chinese Drug Research & Clinical Pharmacology 1993;0(01):-
Objective To observe the effect of Danshen Yin on some gastric mucosal defensive factors in rats with acetic acid-induced gastric ulcer and to explore its anti-ulcer mechanisms. Methods Rat models with acetic acid-induced gastric ulcer were treated with Danshen Yin,ranitidine, and saline respectively for 14 days. After treatment, the ulcer index, serum nitric oxide(NO) level, plasma prostaglandin E2(PGE2)content and the number of micrangium in the granulation at the ulcer base were examined. Results The ulcer index in Dandhen Yin group and ranitidine group was significantly less than that in model group(P

Chinese Journal of Marine Drugs 1994;0(02):-
Objective To observe the influence of polysaccharide from spirulina platensis(PSP) on human embryo lung diploid fibroblastic DNA damage and repair after UV irradiation. Methods After UV irradiation for 30min, the single cell gel electrophoresis(SCGE) was used to investigate the level of DNA damage, the level of DNA damage and repair at 30, 60, 90min were also investigated by SCGE respectively. Results The level of DNA damage induced by UV irradiation was prevented by PSP, and it also promote DNA repair capacity. Conclusion PSP can increase the activity of DNA endonuclease and DNA ligase in dose-de- pendrntly.

Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 2014;(8):697-700
A 47-year-old Chinese man with hypophosphatemic osteomalacia suffered from bone pain, difficulty in walking and pseudo-fractures. Biochemical examination showed a lowered serum phosphorus level and an elevated alkaline phosphatase level. The X-ray examination showed pseudo-fractures of multiple ribs, low bone density, biconcave deformities of the lumbar vertebrae, and pseudo-fracture of the right superior ramus of the pubis. A diagnosis of hypophosphatemic osteomalacia was made. The case was treated with oral neutral phosphate solution, calcitriol and Caltrate D. After treatment for two years, biochemical indicators were improved, and pseudo-fractures healed. Clinically, hypophosphatemic osteomalacia is often overlooked or misdiagnosed. In addition, the duration and dosage of these drugs should be appropriate, in order to avoid tertiary hyperparathyroidism or poor response to treatment.
