1.Multi-channel VEP studies of exotropic amblyopia
Ophthalmology in China 1993;0(04):-
36 children of exotropic amblyopia, 20 of constant exotropia and 16 of intermittent exotropia, were performed multi-channel VEP examinations to find that all amplyopic eyes manifested VEPs of lower amplitude and longer latency. With full-field stimulation to both eyes, summation of VEP was absent in the group of constant exotropia while it was weakly present in the group of intermittent exotropia. With half-field stimulation, temporal retinal suppression was noted in all healthy eyes and some of the amblyopic eyes of the intermittent exotropia group while it was absent in the amblyopic eyes of the constant exotropia group.
2.Proteomic study of the effect of recombinant hFGF-10 adenovirus on HaCat cells.
Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica 2010;45(1):55-9
This study is to investigate the effect of recombinant hFGF-10 adenovirus on the proteome of HaCat cells, and to speculate further the possible mechanism of the effect of hFGF-10 on HaCat cells via differentially expressed proteins identified. Two-dimensional gel electrophoresis (2-DE) combined with tandem time-of-flight mass spectrometry was applied to identify the differentially expressed protein spots on the 2-DE maps of the whole-cell proteins from Ad infected and rAd-hFGF-10 infected HaCat cells. The mRNA and protein levels of the differentially expressed proteins were confirmed with semi-quantitative RT-PCR and Western blotting. The results showed that the 2-DE maps with high resolution were obtained, and four selected differentially expressed proteins involved in cell apoptosis, cytoskeleton regulation and protein degradation were identified with MALDI-TOF/TOF. The mRNA and protein levels of one of the differentially expressed proteins, VDAC2, were up-regulated in HaCat cells infected with the recombinant hFGF-10 adenovirus. The differentially expressed protein, VDAC2, may be related to the bioactivities of hFGF-10.

Objective To explore a method of modified technique of sagittal split ramus osteotomy (SSRO) and to study the possibly more appropriate and effective methods for correction of mandibular de-formity. Methods 195 patients suffering from mandibular anomaly or accompanied by other deformities have been operated on by the modified or classical technique of SSRO. Results In the group of 105 cases treated by modified SSRO and the group of 90 classical SSRO, all the patients acheived excellent results. There was no statistic significance between the two groups. No complications occured, such as postopera-tive relapse, significant bleeding, postoperative infection, and others. Conclusion Since modified tech-nique of SSRO has more advantages than conventional classical technique, such as more area of bony con-tact, shorter-time operation, easier process: it is the preferred method for the correction of mandibular deformity. Accompanied by regularity and in time pre- and post-operational orthodontic therapy, it will be more widely used in the future.

Objective To correct bimaxillary protrusion by using b oth orthognathic operation and orthodontic treatment. Methods 46 bimaxillary protrusion patients, 7 male, 39 female, aged from 19 to 31 years (mean 24.2 years), were surgically corrected since 1996. Of them 31 cases underwent preoperative orthodontic treatment. Cephalometric analysis and model s urgery were performed in all patients and 4 kinds of operation methods were used to correct the deformity. All osteotomy segments were fixed with rigid internal fixation. 39 cases underwent postoperative orthodontic treatment. Re sults 34 cases had been followed-up for ranged from 12 to 72 months (mean 27.7months). All osteotomy segments healed well. There were no severe com plications and evident relapse. The maxillary osteotomy segments were moved back for average (6.3?0.9) mm and mandibular osteotomy segments for average (5.2?1 .2) mm. Both occluding relation and facial contour were satisfied. Co nclusion Bimaxillary protrusion can be satisfyingly corrected by usi ng both of orthognathic operation and orthodontic treatment.

Objective To investigate the quality and academic level of Traditional Chinese Drugs Research and Clinical Pharmacology by analyzing the cited articles. Methods Statistic Analysis and evaluation of citation of articles which were issued in Traditional Chinese Drugs Research and Clinical Pharmacology from the year of 2000 to 2004 and cited in the database of Chinese Biomedical Citation Index and the website of China Knowledge Information, was carried out by literature measurement method. Results There were 770 articles issued in Traditional Chinese Drugs Research and Clinical Pharmacology from the year of 2000 to 2004,the citation rate was 52.59 %,and the average citation frequency of each article was 3.22.There were a large amount of articles with high citation rate. The institutions of cited authors covered 27 provinces (including municipalities and autonomous regions ),special zones and countries,in which Guangdong,Beijing and Jiangsu provinces took the leading in the research of traditional Chinese medicine. The journal was cited by other 350 periodicals, and the citation rate was 93.72 %.The self-citation rate was 6.27 %.Conclusion The articles issued in Traditional Chinese Drugs Research and Clinical Pharmacolog have a high quality, and the journal is one of the most important information suppliers for the research of traditional Chinese drugs and clinical pharmacology and also a core journal for the development of new Chinese drugs and for the research of clinical pharmacology.

Object To study the volatile constituents in the TCM preparation "Pao Chai Pill" made in Yangcheng (Guangzhou) (YPCP) in comparison with that made in Hongkong (HPCP) to gain some insight for the renewal of YPCP to a new dosage form Methods The volatile constituents were extracted with the aid of ultrasonic wave in organic solvent, and identified by GC-MS and elucidated on the standard MS data Their relative contents in percentage were calculated by area normalization Results 24 and 20 volatile constituents were identified in YPCP and HPCP respectively Conclusion YPCP showed more rich in sesquiterpene lactones but less sesquiterpenes and sesquiterpene alcohols than HPCP
