Objective:To investigate the differential diagnostic value of intravoxel incoherent motion diffusion-weighted imaging (IVIM-DWI) combined with serum indicators for prostate cancer. Methods:We recruited 97 patients with prostate diseases who received treatment in Zhuji People's Hospital from March 2018 to September 2020 for this study. Patients with prostate cancer were included in the study group ( n = 46) and patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia in the control group ( n = 51). All patients were subject to IVIM-DWI and serum early prostate cancer antigen-2 level detection alone or in combination. The sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, and diagnostic efficacy of IVIM-DWI and serum early prostate cancer antigen-2 level detection alone or in combination were compared between the two groups. Results:D and f values in the study group were (0.50 ± 0.14) × 10 -3 mm 2/s and (0.35 ± 0.11), respectively, which were significantly lower than those in the control group [(0.71 ± 0.12) × 10 -3 mm 2/s, (0.59 ± 0.08), t = 7.95, 12.37, both P < 0.001]. D* value and serum early prostate cancer antigen-2 level in the study group were (6.24 ± 1.90) × 10 -3 mm 2/s and (62.5 ± 18.3) μg/L, which were significantly higher than those in the control group [(4.08 ± 1.34) × 10 -3 mm 2/s, (17.3 ± 6.8) μg/L, t = -6.52, -16.43, both P < 0.001]. The overall detection rate, sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of IVIM-DWI combined with serum early prostate cancer antigen-2 level detection for prostate cancer were 53.6% (52/97), 97.8% (45/46), 74.5% (38/51), and 85.6% (83/97), respectively. A receiver operating characteristic curve analysis showed that the sensitivity of IVIM-DWI combined with serum indicators in the diagnosis of prostate cancer and the area under the curve were greater than those produced by IVIM-DWI and serum early prostate cancer antigen-2 level detection alone (both P < 0.05). Conclusion:IVIM-DWI combined with serum early prostate cancer antigen-2 level detection has a higher sensitivity in the diagnosis of prostate cancer than monotherapy. The combined therapy provides a new perspective for the differential diagnosis of prostate cancer and has a certain clinical value.

Berberine(BBR),an isoquinoline alkaloid, has been found in many plants, such as Coptis chinensis Franch and Phellodendron chinense Schneid.Although BBR has a wide spectrum of pharmacological effects, its oral bioavailability is extremely low.In recent years, gut microbiota has emerged as a cynosure to un-derstand the mechanisms of action of herbal compounds.Numerous studies have demonstrated that due to its low bioavailability,BBR can interact with the gut microbiota, thereby exhibiting altered pharma-cological effects. However,no systematic and comprehensive review has summarized these interactions and their corresponding influences on pharmacological effects. Here,we describe the direct interactive relationships between BBR and gut microbiota, including regulation of gut microbiota composition and metabolism by BBR and metabolization of BBR by gut microbiota. In addition, the complex interactions between gut microbiota and BBR as well as the side effects and personalized use of BBR are discussed.Furthermore,we provide our viewpoint on future research directions regarding BBR and gut microbiota. This review not only helps to explain the mechanisms underlying BBR activity but also provides support for the rational use of BBR in clinical practice.

Ginsenoside Rg1 (Rg1), the major effective component of ginseng, has been shown to have multiple bioactivities, but low oral bioavailability. The aim of this study was to develop a simple, sensitive and rapid high performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) method, which could be used to validate and quantify the concentrations of Rg1 and its metabolites in Sprague-Dawley rat bile, urine, and feces after oral administration (25 mg/kg). Calibration curves offered satisfactory linearity (>0.995) within the determined ranges. Both intra-day and inter-day variances were less than 15%, and the accuracy was within 80-120%. The excretion recoveries of Rg1, ginsenoside Rh1 (Rh1), and protopanaxatriol (Ppt) in bile, urine, and feces combined were all greater than 70%. The fecal excretion recoveries of Rg1, Rh1, and Ppt were 40.11%, 22.19%, and 22.88%, respectively, whereas 6.88% of Rg1 and 0.09% of Rh1 were excreted in bile. Urinary excretion accounted for only 0.04% of Rg1. In conclusion, the observed excretion profiles for Rg1 and its metabolites after oral administration are helpful for understanding the poor oral bioavailability of Rg1 and will aid further investigations of Rg1 as a pharmacologically active component.
