1.The localizing analysis of the moral status of the embryo in secular bioethical view
Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2011;10(1):122-125
The discussion of the moral status of the embryo mainly focuses on the debating of human beings and human persons in western country. From the angle of the localizing view, the embryo is not a real person. The abortion can get defended.Considering the embryo has potential and value relationship,it has the limited moral status. In dealing with the problem,we should not protect the embryos by emphasizing the embryo's moral position, but we should control abortion appropriately by humanitarian perspective to respect the embryo.

3.The curriculum of reformation of the ideology, moral culture and the basis of law in medical college should be inosculated into the medical humanities
Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2005;0(06):-
Medical humanities teaching in medical college can not been taken on by single or several curriculums, and should be inosculated into all of the medical teaching taches. The curriculum of ideology, moral culture and the basis of law(shortened form to basis) is the required course prescribed by the national education department for all the freshmen. The curriculum reform of the basis should be combined with the characters of the medical circumstances, inosculated into the medical humanities, and should become an important platform of the medical humanities educating system.
4.The Humanities Ideas of Medicine and Several Propositions on Humanities Education in Medical Universities
Chinese Medical Ethics 1994;0(05):-
As a branch of natural science, medical science also contains abundant humanities ideas.'Medicine is a human course' and 'medicine is a kind technology ' embody the humanity evaluation of medical science from western and Chinese cultural history of medical science respectively. The humanities education in medical universities should take the medical science humanities spirit as educational principle, and pay attention to the course design, teacher installment, instructional reform, and evaluating system.

Objective To study the constituents in Melastoma dodecandrum. Methods The constituents were isolated by chromatographic methods, and their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic evidences. Results Five compounds were purified and their structures were identified as: daucosterol(Ⅰ),oleanolic acid(Ⅱ),avicularin(Ⅲ),3,7,4′-trimethoxyquercetin(Ⅳ),and atractylenolidone(Ⅴ).Conclusion Compound Ⅴ is a new chemical constituent named atractylenolidone.Compound Ⅳ is isolated from M.dodecandrum for the first time.

The levels of low-density lipoprotein(LDL)glycation from control group, diabetic HbA1C < 7.0%,and HbA1C>7.0% groups were(17.7±2.31),(34.29±5.73),and(48.79±7.82)Glycogroups/LDL by fluorimetry. The LDL binding to its receptor in three groups were(37.65±5.20),(27.36±4.34),and(15.07± 2.23)ng/mg cell protein measured by enzyme-linked immunoreceptor assay. The glycated levels in two diabetic groups were higher than that in control group, and higher in HbA1C>7.0% group than in HbA1C<7.0% group(all P< 0.01).The results of LDL binding capacity to its receptor were just the opposite.

BACKGROUND:Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) transplantation can promote cardiac repair after myocardial infarction, but it has been limited by the low cellsurvival rate.
OBJECTIVE:To study the effect of hydrogen sulfide (H 2 S) on the BMSCs transplantation for treatment of myocardial infarction.
METHODS:BMSCs were separated and cultivated form Sprague-Dawley rats weighing (100±20) g. The 4th generation cells were used for later experiment, and marked by DAPI at 2 hours before use. Fifty male Sprague-Dawley rats, weighing (200±20) g had been divided into five groups:Sham group (n=10) and four transplantation groups:BMSCs (n=10), H 2 S-BMSCs (n=10), H 2 S (n=10), normal saline (n=10). The myocardial infarction model of four groups was established except of sham group (only thread without ligation). The cardiac function was measured by echocardiogram at 4 weeks after celltransplantation. The col agen in the infarction area was tested by Masson staining.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Severe myocardial fibrosis was found in the normal saline group, with no myocardial regeneration in the infarct area. H 2 S-BMSCs group had less col agen and more cardiac muscle tissue than BMSCs or H 2 S groups. Left ventricular ejection fraction and left ventricular fractional shortening of the H 2 S-BMSCs group were significantly higher than those of the BMSCs or H 2 S groups (P<0.05). The cells survival rate and cardiac function of myocardial infarction rats can be promoted by H 2 S-preconditioned BMSCs transplantation, which is superior to BMSCs or H 2 S alone.

Objective To investigate a Chinese pedigree suffering from Leydig cell hypoplasia ( LCH) based on clinical data and genetic diagnosis. Methods The patient was diagnosed by means of clinical data, hormone profiles, and human chorionic gonadotropin ( hCC) test. The luteinizing hormone/chorionic gonadotropin receptor(LHCGR) gene of the patient and family members was amplified and sequenced. Results The patient presented with male pseudohermaphroditism, low level of testosterone, which did not respond to hCG. Genetic analysis of the LHCGR revealed two novel mutations: a missense mutation located in exon 5, resulting in Ile replaced by Thr in the extracellular domain; and a splice site mutation in the 3' terminal of intron 6( IVS6-3 C→A). Proband's sister (46, XX) who lacked clinical manifestations showed the identical genotype with the patient. Conclusions A mutation in the consensus sequence of 3' splice site, in addition to a missense mutation (Ile 152Thr)in the extracellular ligand-binding domain is the cause of inactivation of the LHCGR gene in patient with Leydig cell hypoplasia.

Objective To analyze the application value of the rapid testing for influenza during 2007-2008 flu season at fever clinic in Beijing Chaoyang hospital Methods 500 patients with diagnosis of influenza-like illness were prospectively enrolled. Pharyngeal swabs were collected for influenza viral culture and rapid testing for influenza. Demographic characteristics, age, symptoms, lab tests, symptom recovery time and medical expense were also collected. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value and negative predictive value for rapid testing were analyzed. Results A total of 500 patients were enrolled between Dec 2007 and March 2008. Among them 498 cases were used for analysis. Influenza B was most common by virus culture methed(n=208,41.8%) ,followed by influenza A (n=51,10.2%). The average age was 35, and the ratio of male to female was 1.47:1. Compared with the group of positive culture, patients with influenza were more likely to get cough, sore throat, and nasal congestion (t=13.728, 4.014and 4.720,P<0.001 or 0.05, respectively). A total of 260 cases were subjected to rapid testing, Among them 18 cases were influenza A positive and 132 cases were influenza B positive. The rapid testing had a sensitivity of 77.1 % and a specificity of 70.1%. The positive predictive value was 78.6% and the negative predictive value was 68.2%. The rapid testing had enhanced the proportion of anti-viral treatment from 0 to 26% and reduced the proportion of antibiotic use from 63.4% to 20. 7%. Conclusions Influenza B is the most predominant pathogen during 2007-2008 flu season among patients with influenza-like illness in Beijing. The rapid testing with high sensitivity and specificity provides guidance on clinical practice.
